Happy, safe and healthy Xmas and new year to all the ed's. Thanks for putting up with us. And to all my LFC family, let rest of season be rewarding and exciting. We are second so far after awful fixture opening. Every team will have highlights and lowlights until the end, so let's be upbeat, positive and passionately behind our boys rather than our own worst critics!

{Ed001's Note - merry Crimbo to you too Kk100.}

10 Aug 2016 09:27:13
On this day 1977, king Kenny signed. The rest, they say, is history. If we could sign any two pre premier league LFC players for our current team, who would you choose ed's? For me, souness and Hansen.

{Ed001's Note - they would be a bit old now mate!}

1.) 10 Aug 2016 09:33:23
Haha! Though I reckon souness could still do a decent job! You know what I mean, though!

{Ed001's Note - sorry I couldn't resist! It would have to be Souness, as we miss his grit and quality in the centre of midfielder. Our major weakness is left back, so it would have to be Barney Rubble or Stan Staunton. I just don't know which. I remember Staunton better, but Kennedy just has a special place in my heart for his Euro final goal.}

2.) 10 Aug 2016 09:48:45
Dalglish and Rush. We could make up the other 9 with the reserves and probably win most games.

{Ed001's Note - good point.}

3.) 10 Aug 2016 10:41:20
Barnes and souness and dalglish and staunton and clemence and hughes and hansen and rush and beardsley. Sorry got carried away and started to remenice, god i miss the days when we were a force to be feared oh well.

4.) 10 Aug 2016 11:34:38
Beardsley and Souness

Barnes, Aldridge and Dalglish also agree free contract moves in the Jan Window.

I'm facing a warning from the FA for tapping up Hansen, Nicol and Houghton for moves next summer. Shame on me.

Could have listed a bunch more, such a rich history of top players and talent so went for my favourites.

5.) 10 Aug 2016 11:39:58
Suárez and Xabi Alonso would be my two picks.

{Ed001's Note - erm you might need to reread the original post.}

6.) 10 Aug 2016 12:36:06
For LB and GK - Alan Kennedy and Ray Clemence.

7.) 10 Aug 2016 12:41:49
Was Bearsdley better than Heighway? I remember seeing a lot of Heighway, but I don't remember seeing that much of Beardsley. Which one was better? Eds and Reds?

8.) 10 Aug 2016 23:02:55
Oh dear, I didn't read the post properly! Although pre-premier league is a little before my time ;)

28 Jul 2016 20:10:45
Which signing, ed's, were you looking forward to most to really making a positive impact at LFC, but turned out to be a huge disappointment? For me, it was cole, Kewell and llalana! An early happy birthday to ed001 tomorrow too.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, for me Kewell and Nuri Sahin.}

1.) 28 Jul 2016 20:43:17
Got to be Robbie Keane. Spurs best player for almost a decade. Rocks up at Anfield and gets canned 6 months later!

2.) 28 Jul 2016 20:54:04
Got to be Morientes for me, was made up when he signed for us.

3.) 28 Jul 2016 20:55:16
Morientes has to be on there somewhere.

4.) 28 Jul 2016 20:58:13
Kewell all day long.

5.) 28 Jul 2016 21:19:23
Jovanovic, only because I'd mistaken him for Jovetic who destroyed us in 2 champions league games that very season.

But on players that I knew for sure who it was, it has to be Sahin.

6.) 28 Jul 2016 22:04:32

7.) 28 Jul 2016 22:08:30
Djibril Cisse.

8.) 28 Jul 2016 22:30:03
Poulsen :-)

9.) 28 Jul 2016 22:38:41
Kewell, Morientes, Cisse, Diouf are the most notable for me. . meanwhile i had promised myself to be the first to wish ed1 a happy birthday to show how grateful I am for his and other eds input. I don't usually post but for the last around four years this site is my best friend. This is all because of the eds and many of you whose opinions and sarcasm makes it an interesting read. It's already 29th here . so happy happy birthday ed1.

10.) 28 Jul 2016 22:40:52
Bandy Carroll.

11.) 28 Jul 2016 22:50:21
Aquilani for me, was really into football manager back then and he was amazing on it.

12.) 28 Jul 2016 23:57:04
Balotelli? What were you expecting?! 😂.

13.) 29 Jul 2016 00:07:30
Morientes and Kewell, although not sure in which order!

14.) 29 Jul 2016 00:21:22
Paul Stewart.

15.) 29 Jul 2016 01:16:17
What about Nigel Clough? I don't know about your worst signing but Kenny Dalglish was your best signing ever, i was a distraught 10 year old Celtic fan when you robbed him off us for the ridiculously low fee of 440k, i was that traumatised i still remember the fee 39 years later lol. He didn't do too bad for you, did he? lol.

16.) 29 Jul 2016 05:15:26
Litmanen and kewell.

28 Jul 2016 10:40:04
Am I reading too much into this, but club website states that our third kit to be revealed by milner llalana and karius tonight but then it says, players subject to change. Does this mean that either or both of Millie and Adam could be on way out soon. Why put an out going player in a new kit launch. PS, I quite like the third kit. Hopefully, training kit will be available soon too, besides the new black one.

{Ed002's Note - The club are not sending secret messages to you.}

1.) 28 Jul 2016 11:13:22
Or perhaps Karius will return to the Mother Ship? Has he been summoned by the hive again!

2.) 28 Jul 2016 11:22:18
Be sure to look out for any irregular blinking patterns during interviews. Could be a code for who we will be selling and buying over the next five windows.

3.) 28 Jul 2016 15:05:41
Lfc do Morse code to me who's coming and going lol.

23 Jul 2016 11:21:28
Hi ed's. I don't want to bore you with the same old questions as to who are we buying and selling. But I would love your opinion on the players who will be leaving us this window. Whoever they are, why were they brought on the tour to the u. s. if they will be loaned or sold in a few weeks anyway? Why explain to them our tactical set up for next season if they won't be here. Is this not a waste of time. I assume the players who will be sold/ loaned know who they are by now, so why all this travel, tactics and training with LFC.

{Ed001's Note - they might not get sold, so you have to get them up to speed in case you do end up using them.}

1.) 23 Jul 2016 11:54:07
thanks for quick reply ed001. Much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome.}

Except for the fact that he's useless, injury prone and no pace. Just his agent trying to russle up interest for either a new contract or selling him to some gullible club like gala or besiktas. He's an appalling player with a miserable injury record.

Couldn't agree with u more. Saying the same thing for a while too. He's not clinical, but wastes too many passes and chances. Drop him and play studge, mane and courts up front now.

He'll be checking all the hospital wards and physio rooms for players. He knows them like the back of his hand.

Time will tell. As kloppo himself has said, this season is his team, his players and his real yardstick to be judged. We have an awful opening 6 games. I hope our season doesn't begin and end in August/ Sept like it usually does.

Apparently he has his fitness and injury problems, namely dodgy knees. Possibility that he would never pass a medical at most clubs. Seems a solid competent player when fit, but not a worldly and too big a chance to take on his health and fitness.
