Not sure why people are on about Markovic perhaps being the winger that we need. I like Markovic but he's hardly a John Barnes who who can skip past a player and deliver a deadly cross on a plate. He's a give and go kind of player who is suited more to a number 10 or to cut inside from the flank. I think we do need a different dimension and I would love that to be someone who can gain half a yard, cross a ball and put it on a plate. Looking at Klopps systems perhaps this is going to come from a full back.?

Im glad someone else came out and said it. I saw absolutely nothing in the games he played for LFC to suggest he was any better than Ibe. I appreciate he was highly thought of before we bought him but i would have expected a few glimpses of genius to suggest why we forked out so much for his signature but he produced less than Milner does on the wing. I would love to be proved wrong but i'm not holding my breath on it.

2.) 29 May 2016 12:49:47
Bit harsh, given that when he was played he was played out of position by Bodgers. Cast your mind back to when he destroyed Spurs playing for Benfica. He's had a good season in Turkey (which was a poor loan in any case) .

3.) 29 May 2016 13:36:11
He is currently ahead of ibe and ojo which is improvements that we need. I hope both of ibe and ojo get loans to other pl clubs. Wouldn't mind ojo staying with the first team squad but he needs regular game time. Ibe needs time away from the spotlight, to suggest markovic is no better than ibe at the moment is ridiculous. Have you watched him play for fenerbarche?

Anyway it looks like he may be on his way out, but I hope not. I think we need better wingers than ojo and ibe at the moment. I'd like it if markovic was given a chance (I think like many others he would improve under klopp) and another winger/ forward brought in.

4.) 29 May 2016 13:44:58
Markovic was brutally bad for us and never passed the ball forward or took anybody on. As a winger he was virtually useless. Maybe he's improved so i'd give him a chance but i wouldn't expect any miracles, not the player we need imo.

5.) 29 May 2016 14:11:45
i saw Markovic play some good games plus we don't know how BR had him playing, put it this way a lot of experts in the football field say this lad is going places, it may take a little time but let's give him a chance you never know he just might turn out better than you think plus klopp got all the players playing better so he will do the same for markovic let's then judge the kid.

6.) 29 May 2016 14:33:15
Bodgers kept playing him as a wing back.

7.) 29 May 2016 15:05:25
I don't know what is the fuss in on Ibe. Clearly not 10 times better than Sterling and how on earth is he better than Markovic.

8.) 29 May 2016 20:25:06
I didn't say that I didn't rate Markovic. I said that he's more suited to a 10 or cut inside from the flank. If Klopp sees him good enough to compete there then fantastic but as an out an out winger who can deliver crosses, I don't think so.

9.) 29 May 2016 22:29:46
Markovic strikes me as confidence player. Clearly towards the end of his time with LFC, he was down on confidence and so kept taking the safe option. In his earlier games he was much free-er.

10.) 31 May 2016 12:31:54
Might Markovic's lack of crosses in whilst with us have something to do with the fact that a) he was at RB most of the time and b) his only target in the box was Raheem Sterling?

Firmino a much better option for us as a number 9.

Like I've said before. We need power, pace and intelligence. We have players to win the ball and retain the ball but I believe we need a front 4 that can counter quickly, aggressively and with intelligence. We have Continho and Origi and perhaps Sturridge if he stays fit but I would get rid of markovic because he is not strong enough, along with Benteke and Balotelli. I think Ojo fits the bill. He looked strong, pacey and had that bit of arrogance you need. Imo I think continue to being on Stewart alongside Can and Hendo, this will allow Can to be freed up a bit more. Can has been immense recently. What an improvement he has made. He will. only get better too. He could add a real dimension going forward. As for the back 5 I'm still scratching my head. I'd possibly like to see Moreno improved defensively but I can't see Clyne improving more than what he is. A ball playing centre half would be a great addition alongside a keeper who has better distribution.

I can see Markovic doing an Origi next year. Hit the gym, bulk up a bit and give Ibe and Ojo some real competition. Think he will benefeit greatly from Klopps guidance like so many other have. Just hope he gives it another shot. Got some football in him, and pace to burn.

2.) 23 Apr 2016 11:52:39
Ojo strong?

3.) 23 Apr 2016 12:22:26
Ojo has great strength for someone his age! To op, think you're quite harsh on markovic to just write him off, also don't know if you forgot about firmino but he certainly has to be a player capable of fitting in our front 4.

4.) 23 Apr 2016 13:42:38
ShaneK, Markovic has struggled in Turkey. He has been struggling to get in the side even before his injury and in what can only be described as a terrible league he's not even scored a league goal and registered just 2 assists.

Why do people want Lallana and/ or Milner to be replaced by a player who has proven he doesn't have the physicality to make it in the Prem?

It's not harsh at all. He wasn't ready when we signed him. He was unproven and inconsistent. It was impossible to tell if he would turn his potential into actual end product. Hence why Chelsea passed on signing him for a third of what we paid.

We got ripped off for an average player. Ojo is already a better player than him. Markovic is 22 years old so he's hardly a youth player. Origi is younger and has shown far more ability and physical presence.

Markovic will never make it here and bringing him back to be 8th choice wide player makes no sense for his career or our wage budget. Coutinho, Lallana, Milner, Ibe, Ojo, Kent and Canos are all better players. Let him go.

5.) 23 Apr 2016 14:26:46
'Markovic will never make it here' I heard the same crap about Origi . Marko actually turned in a couple of man of match appearances played out of position . Why are people so quick to put down young forgein players. He was one of Europe most highly rated players, yes he came too soon and was expensive but his potential is immense. 8th choice wide player? Who are these amazing wide players we have? Most are central players shunted out wide. Get a grip. Bet you hated origi as well until 8 week ago.,

6.) 23 Apr 2016 14:31:25
Origi was a laughing stock at the start of the season for being all be it harshly include in the worst 11 in ligue 1. Now obviously I'm not deluded to think that any player now at Liverpool will be a superstar but it is clear that klopp can be a great motivator which can be a huge difference. Again I'm not saying he's first choice for next season or he'll even be here, but the player clearly has talent, he even showed that in glimpses at Liverpool playing all over the park. He deserves the pre season to work his way into klopps plans and then it's up to his performances to keep him at the club long term but that has to be taken window by window. I just don't see the point saying he has to be gone in what would be another big loss on what we paid. Don't remember him saying too much negative about the club or hearing that he caused any problems while at the club, deserves a chance anyway at least :)

7.) 23 Apr 2016 15:40:27
I didn't mention Lallana. I think he should compete with Coutinho for number 10. I'd love nothing more than for Markovic to make it but I think at 22, others will overtake him purely on power and strength. Firmino I'm still unsure of. I actually prefer him as a number 9. Still gives the ball away deep unnecessarily for me. I would have him competing with Sturridge, Origi and Ings.

With the style Klopp wants the team to play I think the only players we should be looking at are strong, intelligent and pacey players with the mentality to work hard and play with no fear. We may have that already at the club, who knows. I hope so.

The one thing Ibe struggles with is confidence and with fans like this it's only going to affect the confidence of such a young player more and more. This lad has an abundance of talent, which nurtured in the right way he could become a very good player for us. Time out of the limelight is a good move from JK so let's do the same and give the
lad a break. Perhaps then he can flourish into the player we all want him to be for Liverpool football club.

It's my job to watch players on a daily basis ed. I merely made a comment as I was interested in an opinion. I never post generally, just happy to read and observe. Wasn't looking for an argument, just an opinion to see if it was similar to my own.
