Latest reports saying just the finer details of his signature dish to be finalised. The Mbappe and Chips. Rumours suggesting a deep fried battered pomme frites stuffed roll (a bap to us southerners) with a side of proper chippy chips. He's pushing for a Bearnaise Dip but FSG worried it might not sit well with the more traditional fan base.

This reminds me of a funny rumour prior to Naby Keita joining. When the deal was all up in the air a few years back.

Someone posted that he saw Keita in the local ASDA in Liverpool and asked him if he was going to join. Got quite a few likes etc on twitter and funnily enough Keita was announced on the same day.

Watching Curtis Jones over the last few games I really he'll make one of the three midfield slots his own sooner rather than later. Great on the ball, decision making looks spot on, presses well and gets himself in some good positions to grab a few goals. He took us up a notch when he came on against Leeds. Really wanted Thiago to sign but Jones has changed my mind on it.
Also, thinking outside of the box, I wonder if Klopp could work his magic on Grujic as a CB? Got a lot of qualities needed for the position.

Completely agree about Jones, looks a class act and made a good contribution when he came on.

Grujic is not a cb, he's a very good midfielder and if we not going to play him we should let the lad go and play elsewhere. He has a bright future and we shouldn't stand in his way of fulfilling it.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 21:18:46
I like him but he is a bit slow, as if he plays in slow motion.

3.) 13 Sep 2020 22:02:35
Jones looks promising for sure. With time he will get better cos on the 3rd goal, the Leeds player Gliuk (spelling) ran right in front of his face while he was ball watching. That type of mistake is costly cos third-man runs from midfield are deadly and we can see why. These types of mental errors can b cut out with more experience and game time.

Wudnt be against Thiago signing he's terrific but I know what your saying. Looking at Jones yesterday everything that wudve been throwing against him wasnt there. It was simple, quick, incisive passes and not trying silly things to impress. But I know from looking at him since he's 15that there's so much more to come, he'll fill ot, get stronger. someone said he looked slow but so do a lot of teenagers at his age, even Gerrard did. ii've watched the youths about 10/ 11 years since eccleston/ once and this fella is on sterling's level, there the two I've probably ever looked at and said they'll definitely make it (although I also thought Andre Wisdom was going to be a superstar😂) .

He is a Liverpool legend but wish Graeme Souness would stick a cork in it. Been spouting some rubbish lately. Why would he think it's a good idea to come out and say Alisson should have a question hanging over him. Sure he's got a price tag and reputation to live up to but why not let him get on with it. As a Liverpool fan he knows the issues we've had with Keepers. It's like he's just trying to be controversial just to stay in the game. The last few games I've seen him as a pundit I've seen him bully and hog the limelight and then talk outdated tripe when some of the other pundits blatantly have a better grasp of the modern game.

Rant over! 😂 He can take Dean Saunders with him too. While we're at it Michael Owen and Steve Nicol too! On a positive note, Gary Gillespie has done a good job on the preseason games.

i quite like Stevie Nicol. The whole espn crew were just talking about how they haven't seen him this happy ever, and its all because of our squad/ team. He was buzzing. He may not be the best commentator but he's Liverpool through and through.

{Ed002's Note - How would you feel about him taking over next summer if Klopp fails again this season? SSN as manager? You never know - strong ties to the owners and Boston.}

2.) 05 Aug 2018 18:39:40
As an LFC player- absolutely loved him.
The rest of him- I can leave.

3.) 05 Aug 2018 18:56:24
And to say that Klopp is planning to replace his midfield of Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum by bringing in Keita, Fabinho and (trying to bring in) Fekir, is not only stating the obvious but also like " oh really, aren't you the observant and tactically switched on one". Superb footballer. Now just hanging on to make a living.

4.) 05 Aug 2018 19:17:53
Have to say that as good as Nicol was a player, he’s not got two braincells to rub together.

5.) 05 Aug 2018 19:36:58
Footballers generally make a huge contribution to keep the average IQ at 50.

I don’t take any notice of their comments which are given to cause controversy and outrage.

Souness - legendary player, has let himself down since ending his playing days 🤝.

6.) 05 Aug 2018 19:39:59
Surprised no one took the bait on that one ed.

{Ed002's Note - Sometimes the truth hurts.}

7.) 05 Aug 2018 19:56:32
Chelsea won't make top 4. I'm going Liverpool, city, spurs, man u, Chelsea, arsenal.

Stone - those of us who know Ed002 well enough by now, know to steer well clear of his special type of humour. Taking the bait is like stepping on a landmine with chances of considerable life-threatening fireworks. 😁.

10.) 05 Aug 2018 21:13:40
yeah, good point aray.

11.) 05 Aug 2018 21:17:37
Souness doesn't need to hang on to make a living. Years as a player, then later as a manager (after money REALLY came into the game) will ensure he has a comfy retirement.

12.) 05 Aug 2018 20:55:46
Chelsea will be on it this season I predict. Has anyone noticed how they have a good season followed by a poor season? It's weird but been going on for 4/ 5 years. Following that pattern they're due a good season.

I think it's a tactic to keep their players fitter for longer.

Anyhow, graeme sourness won European cups, league titles, well everything and was the back bone of our team. He is entitled to his opinion. And he speaks some sense. When you've played with clem and Brucey I guess you are entitled to comment on our keeper. It is a high transfer fee. Of course there is a question mark. Things taken out of context shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I was very impressed with alisson against napoli. His footwork was brilliant. We really have been under nourished as far as keepers are concerned, pepe reina seems a long time ago. Exciting times ahead.

I hope other teams follow liverpool lead and take the game to city.

I honestly think City could implode if they don't get off to a flyer.

13.) 05 Aug 2018 23:28:57
Chelsea will do well get top four this year. They are being asked to change from being world class bullies, as in giant athletes with mostly fantastic technique, to playing a brand of football that they are not generally used to. Conte fit the mould, Sarri will attempt to reshape it. It will take the team and the fans a lot of getting used to (and we all know how nice the 'upper classes' are when things don't go their way straight away) .

{Ed002's Note - Big boobs (or moobs) don't win titles according to the old adasge.}

14.) 05 Aug 2018 23:30:52
he ain't paid to be your friend. if anything the more things he says to piss off liverpool fans, probably the more money he makes.

15.) 05 Aug 2018 23:47:00
Aye, you'll win nothing when you're just thinkin' about your next cig.

16.) 06 Aug 2018 12:39:53
Robbiejames83 . a tactic to have a poor season and then a good season to keep the players fitter for longer. 😂😂 Not sure you’re entitled to an opinion after that one!
Liked the Graeme Sourness pun though. unless it was a typo?!?

Anybody else think potential transfers are being stalled until we know if we are through to champs league properly. It's a big draw for players, as is the money it brings to the clubs.

Dhred

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 22:08:09
Ed says no. I think it would definitely be a consideration for us and for potential players. I think Ed25 said as much earlier too.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 23:45:39
There will obviously be channels of communication open between us and VVD/ Keita etc. Wouldn't surprise me if they have said they would join us if/ when we get past Hoffenheim. Take Keita for example. why would he leave Leipzig, in champs league, for a club that might not even end up in the competition.

{Ed002's Note - If there are then there will be major issues looming for the club.}

Would love to see Moreno turn it around. Was genuinely excited when he signed. Didn't Klopp say he could coach Robertson in 1v1's. Invest a bit more effort in Moreno too? We're not going to get what we want for him now and in this market you'd be talking 25m for a player not too much better? Think we saw yesterday and with Robertson the other day that we Have to play a left footed player at left back, especially if Mane is going to be playing on the left too.

1.) 02 Aug 2017 12:37:34
Moreno is amazing in training apparently. Superb at wanting to learn more. Gets pleanty of attention. Just non of it was sinking in until last night.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 12:39:01
I don't think Moreno is going to turn it around. Though I do think he will give it away.

3.) 02 Aug 2017 13:03:39
maybe its just that its taking a while for the penny to drop for Moreno, but he was brilliant last night .

4.) 02 Aug 2017 13:31:10
Yeah he's earned that lb slot for the next game minimum and if we make him adhere to that way then he has to keep playing brilliantly to get into the team.
