If he costs less than 18 mill in signing on fee and wages and plays more than 41 minutes in the league for us next season then he’d turn out to be a more opportunistic signing than Chiesa was.

He’s already been dismissed a few times on here, my opinion is that he can’t be any worse than our current strikers so for the money involved he could be worth a try, certainly frees up funds for the defensive additions we need.

He'd take up a wage and a space in the squad though, Johnny. It's not as if a free transfer is free of risk. If he turns out to be a lemon on 100k a week, that's 100k less a week that we have to spend elsewhere too. Not saying that he will be getting a 100k a week contract though, just using that as an example.

Dracred, he’s scored a goal every other game in the last 5 seasons so he’s not a one season wonder. He has 9 goals in 14 CL games this season. Give me that kind of output on a free transfer and £100k per week and I’d be more than happy. All transfers are a risk but his stats at least suggest he’d be an improvement on Jota/ Nunez.
