I’ve heard that vvd has recommended Konate Kerkez & Szoboszlai as our leadership team going forward once he leaves.

Liverpool have rejected Juventus' first approach for Alisson Becker in the last 24 hours.

I think over their time FSG have tended to make a bit of guddle of things at times then really pull it out of the bag at the end (Klopp, VVD, stadium). So my prediction is that they will find a way for Klopp to return, hopefully as manager or in a meaningful way. Fingers crossed and love to Robbo.

The only time Klopp will return is if he is invited to a legend's match.

We have been mostly crap under FSG until Klopp came along, they've been dining out on his endeavours. If the rumours are true of players and managers this window, it will be years before we make a serious challenge again.

Why do our players have so many days off? I really don't understand what the logic is behind it.

We won the league at a canter, everyone went on holiday after it, we became rubbish and have seemingly kept that philosophy.

Slot either hates the city and England or has won the league, got lax and thrown the towel in. Either way it's shambolic and we need a change.

Unfortunately, it looks like he's staying if reports are to be believed.

Slot and his Lead Physical Performance Coach Ruben Peeters implemented a periodisation programme at Feyenoord that was meant to reduce injuries. Essentially it was a programme that reduced volume and training intensity, which provided more days off. Initially it did seem to reduce injuries, but not by a factor that would be outside of the normal fluctuation from season to season. From what I've read, although there was an initial improvement, injuries actually increased significantly between Slot's first and final season, and it was noticed that immediately upon Slot's departure the team was struggling with fitness in terms of physical performance and injuries, with some very similar complaints to our own, like repeat injuries, players struggling beyond 70 minutes, and performances dropping off in the final minutes, resulting in Feyenoord actually ranking 4th for most goals conceded in the last 15 minutes with 12, a huge falloff from conceding just 4 the previous season.

It all sounds far too familiar to be a coincidence. Feyenoord fans, of course, are beyond faithful to Slot and will never admit it was the result of his tenure, but this lack of fitness doesn't happen over a 3 week summer break. It takes a long time for elite athletes to become notably unfit if they're playing 90-180 minutes of intense football a week. It might take a season or two for it to creep in until it's at a noticeable level. I believe this is why Feyenoord was notably struggling with fitness after Slot left and why we're struggling this season immediately after winning the title at a canter.

Of course you do, Chewy. 😆 That'd be just perfect.

Florian, what is this kid faith worship you have with slot? You literally can not admit the teams fitness is poor due to his philosophy of train a day take a week off so he can have a break and go back to Holland .

Your post sums it up, Rts.

Carra has had some excellent insights into rumours and is incredibly well positioned. I think he is being fed dud information to keep the focus on will they won’t they with the familiar names.

Have a post on Banters about Simeone and this is where we are headed at the season's end.

He will be hugely unpopular with opposition teams and even our own fans initially but his passion and no nonsense approach will have our overpaid low performers working much harder or else!

I am willing to bet Simeone won't be Liverpool manager next season, Shakerred. Passion is great, but not with an obsession for the dark arts. It's not our way and I don't get the impression FSG would want that either as they, despite the criticisms, do try their best to stick to our club values.

Fly, I'd put my house on it. He doesn't speak a lick of English, he's not an Edwards-approved yes man, and he's a highly controversial figure that I believe that the club would avoid at all costs.

29 Apr 2026 14:55:04
Is Slot a yes man? Is anyone besides Klopp, who had total power (but didn't start off that way), a yes man?

0

29 Apr 2026 16:38:57
Well, you claimed before players were forced on him, so yes, Slot is a yes man.

2

29 Apr 2026 16:42:51
Florian, Slot was not mentioned in this post.

2

29 Apr 2026 17:40:50
Florian, just has to twist everything into a Slot attack/defence. Comical stuff. I'll answer anyway. Yes, Slot is clearly a yes man. He's the first ever manager to actually come in as a head coach, giving him significantly reduced power in comparison to his predecessors, he was happy to be given no transfer budget in his first season, and he very much portrays the company man with his communication.

He oozes pure yes man vibes with every word. Not to mention, we knew Edwards was looking for a yes man after he struggled with Klopp.

2

29 Apr 2026 17:41:09
Well he's the only manager Edwards has appointed FPF. That's why I asked, it's not as if there's a list of yes men over the years. Did I, WD40? Can't remember if I did, certainly can't remember which players.

Who were they? And does being outvoted on which players come in actually make you a yes man? Is any manager that comes in this summer not going to face that as well? Unless Guardiola is planning on rocking up to Anfield.

I can only see Alonso accepting the manager's role at Liverpool, Bayern or Citeh. Kompany has done well with Bayern so that job isn’t up for grabs. I have a feeling he might be up for replacing Pep. Maresca was awful at Chelsea and I see the City players not biting at the bit to have him take over.

I've been saying since before Alonso even got the sack, he will make the decision that is best for his career. If that means not subjecting himself to the overly controlling ways of Edwards, then he'll gladly go elsewhere. It's a love-like relationship we have with Xabi.

It's not like Gerrard who would turn down the likes of Real and Barca for us. I've always been adamant that if Pep steps down and or Enrique/Kompany moves on, Alonso would fill that gap wherever it may be.

Eds and other ITK's, from my reading of this site and others on X and such, I am of the belief that right now the club are attempting to plug all leaks that may be happening in the organisation.

Why else are there so many conflicting statements being thrown about along with a plethora of different managers suggested?

The only reasons I can see for this are:
1 - Weeding out some moles in the org
2 - Attempting to muddy the waters so that actual info is not believed until its official

2

29 Apr 2026 06:26:39
There is a third possible reason:

We live in a world where wholly innacurate journalism is of no consequence. Journo's print lies and a huge number of people spout b******* on social media who don't actually know a thing.

2

29 Apr 2026 07:36:35
There's 2 big factors here, people are ignoring. One is that ITK's are sharing interpreted information that contains an element of someone's opinion, and, of course, opinions differ. The second is that, in situations like this, clubs often continue to explore all options right up until the moment they make the call, so until they do, many things can be true at once.

7

29 Apr 2026 07:46:57
I get that, Chewy, and we are all just hoping that the info we get is the right stuff.
Just lately, it feels like so many different stories / changes are all being released at the same time that it seems to me a bit more than just different options being kept open.

29 Apr 2026 14:45:58
Theres really not many rumours flying around, it's either Slot's in or Slot's out, outside of that there's a shortlist of potential replacements, and who gets it is really anyone's guess right up until the point that it's announced.

I think people are still holding on to claims that Slot was leaving and Alonso was nailed on, and using that to create this idea in their heads that there's a lot of conflicting rumours, but that's extremely old info and has been completely disregarded by the very ITK's that initially claimed it.

A number of us on the site, including Ed001, predicted there might be issues onboarding Xabi considering the level of control Edwards/Hughes have, and at the moment it seems that's exactly what's happened. So if those talks have well and truly stalled, then the club will be exploring all (other) options right up until the point they pull the trigger, and that includes not pulling any trigger at all.

Thats jus my opinion anyway.

Are we that insecure that we need to rush back to this forum to throw a stray at Slot?

Slot out.

Slot out 2.0.

Not desperate, no, but Slot needs to retire.

Watching Bayern vs PSG, and anyone who says Cody Gakpo is a better player than him and Luis Diaz either doesn't understand football or is delusional. What a player he is and much better than Olise. We should never have sold him.

He was average for us and tried to engineer a move for years. Get over it.

He was our second best player last year after Mo. Let's get it right.
