Obviously this is going to go down like a lead balloon but anyone fed up with some of the crap Klopp comes out with. Trying to make out EL will be good, saying who cares if it's Thursday nights instead of tues/ wed.

Trying to sell us a package of failure as an achievement. Wish he'd just put his hands up and say I ****ed it right up sorry.

26 May 2023 15:25:04
From what i've read, he's basically said the season was a failure as Liverpool should be in the Champions League, but it is what it is, and we'll embrace the Europa next season. Not exactly trying to sell a poor season as a good one!

26 May 2023 15:31:11
I was away with my mates 2 years ago, all Toon army. They all liked Klopp. Now they think he’s a whiny pric. I think there’s something in it. Too many bad decisions from Klopp and others and this is what you get, Spurs.

26 May 2023 15:45:48
Doesn't bother me that he puts a spin of togetherness and positive outlook for next season. He needs to keep everyone motivated and excited for next season. He did acknowledge that this season was not a good one and that there were things to learn from.

I know some here want a pity party where klopp delivers a 2 hour speech about how sorry he is but it's not exactly good for anything.

Truth is next season is another to look forward to. And he is right, when Europa League swings around, we all be enjoying it. We have a good chance of winning it. With the right additions, next season will be great fun.

{Ed025's Note - i do love your positivity davey..

Interesting this. It's true. Absolutely everyone loved Klopp when he first arrived - opposing fan's, nonfans and fans alike - like a breath of fresh air.
You do get the impression now he's a bit on the nose as a public persona.
Makes you wonder if these are the telltale signs to look out for to know if someone's done their dash. Or not.

5.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 15:49:01
It is his job to speak positively though about being in Europa league, yes we would all want to be in champions league, but I bet no one will be moaning if we win it next year! We also have a lot of young players so it does bring a good opportunity to bleed them through.

But I do agree this season has been a failure too, minimum requirement was top four and Klopp has shown that if he was less stubborn with his tactics/ loyalty to certain players we could have easily achieved this.
But next year we go again!

6.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 15:53:10
He hasn’t said anything like it’s been a failure rugby parker, and he’s definitely trying to sell it as something good.

Definitely loves a moan marko, my mate is toon he’s walking round permanently with a smile on his face now every time football comes up.

Thing is it’s not like this didn’t happen before after we won the league. But question is why does it happen.

7.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:00:20
It certainly makes you feel better when the team is playing well and competing TS. The team and Klopp are at a crossroads, massive summer and season ahead.

8.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:01:23
Klopp is the manager. His job is man management. If he came out and hammered the players publically or said we were too big for the competition then a) players might push to leave and b) it puts a target on our back for every team we face in the Europa league next season.

Klopp's comments were as honest as he could be without being unprofessional. What did you want him to say? "The players are a disgrace and I'd rather retire than play in the Europa league against farmers"?

9.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:08:01
For me Europa league is actually an easier route to the 24/ 25 CL than trying to get Top 4 in the premier league.

That’s not me saying we should just go for Europa because we should be aiming to win both next season. It’s more I hope we don’t take the europa for granted and just chuck weakened teams in.

10.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:11:27
Yes, and I'm sick of the underdog mentality and the view that we should be eternally grateful for winning everything once in 12 years.

We constantly market ourselves as European royalty, which we are. But we need to start acting like it.

11.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:11:35
I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Half of what he says is for his own players and the other half is trying to avoid making negative headlines. That makes for difficult viewing at the moment when all he probably wants is for the nightmare season to end as quickly as possible.

As for rival fans moaning about Jurgen - especially the Newcastle and United fans - they can GTF!

While I agree he's had a stinker this season, at least he doesn't set up his teams to time-waste and fake head injuries like others (ahem are you reading Newcastle fans) and nor does he throw his players and whole club under a bus like Conte did at Spurs. Nor was he cowardly like ETH who reverted to playing OleBall after getting spanked in his first two games - after spending more than any other team in Europe - again.

For all his flaws, we're lucky to have Big Jurg.

Anything other than, “Tues/ wed or Thursday what does it matter, who cares! ”.

13.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:24:41
What is it that they say? "Familiarity breeds contempt"? I think that's part of it between us and Klopp. The longer we know him, the more we learn about him, and particularly his quirks, weaknesses and his habits. In the beginning we were all dazzled by his frank honesty, tremendous energy on the sidelines, football know how and man management (remember "Klopp has improved every player in the team since he has joined"? ) . His strengths were obvious to see in comparison with previous managers. Today, quite a few of us get put off by the things he does, the things he says. It's been 7 years after all. And when there are no titles, cups or serious runs at anything, it's clear the negative things become blaringly apparent and stare you in the face.

14.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:25:23
I prefer what Salah said. Not acceptable etc

But when it comes to Jurgan, I’d take whatever he said in the media with a pinch of Salt
I Don’t like the Smile when we’re getting smashed off Relegation teams though I must admit.

15.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:37:16
I don’t really care what he says but his has to change the team’s attitude on the pitch. Klopp had a terrible season but now he has the chance to fix it and produce a team worthy of the shirt next season. We are a team full of plodders time to get back to heavy metal, full throttle.

16.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 16:57:14
With Man City's funds, were all underdogs Thomas.

17.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 17:00:15
He’s hardly going to come out and say f#%#in EL I nvr want to be in this etc!
100% Thursday Sunday football will
Annoy in and the players too it’s not the elite comp the CL is!

18.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 17:20:35
Agree Liverpool fc8. Salah responded exactly how you’d expect from someone trying to achieve something and failing (a winner) Klopp just sounded like he was happy to take place.

19.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 17:33:23
What's done is done, we are in the Europa League next season like it or not. You can either be a man and get on with it or whine like a baby all summer. Your choice.

20.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 18:18:34
I'm pretty sure klopp said in an interview only the past month something like "I am 100% responsible for this rubbish" and has spoken multiple times on how the counter press had gone this season and the back end of last, so to say he hasn't is just wilful ignorance to make a mountain out of a molehill for the sake of negativity. He is simply saying that there will still be some cracking games to look forward to in Europe (such as Dormund in his first season) even though it's not ideal and as many have said trying to instill some positivity around the club.

As far as other fans opinion on Klopps "whining" it's the same deflection tactics most managers use for the most part. It's a bit paradoxical to come on a, site and whine, and in that whining criticise someone's whining. It's like whineception or something.

21.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 18:34:24
Nah that’s rubbish. I am saying Klopp has turned into Sir whingealot. It’s too dry, it’s too wet, referees have it in for us, too windy, players don’t listen, it’s been a never ending list of whining excuses.

Time for him to man up give it 100% or just admit he can’t be arsed anymore and walk away.

22.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 19:25:36
I don’t really care what he says. The media aspect of football is a complete pantomime. It’s what happens on the pitch that’s important.

This season wasn’t good enough. Hopefully next season will be a whole lot better. Onwards and upwards.

23.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 19:44:59
Cheers Ed25.

Some here live in a dog eat dog world.

Not me. I live in a doggy dog world.

Davey good job it’s not a dogging world mate otherwise Ed0025 would be inviting you round to his local car park.

{Ed025's Note - hey JK!!!, that only happend once...well 12 times..

25.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 22:18:44
Don't give a F whatever klopp says to the media about this season. They're the media F them. As for opinions of him have changed yeah that's what 7 years of crap media journalism and stress does. He's won it all with us. He took us from mediocre to top of the world and if hed have managed to keep us there on the budget we've been given he'd have been an absolute miracle worker. Yes he's not perfect no manager is. But he's Jurgen Norbert Klopp the best manager we've had in 30 odd years and love him.

26.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 22:06:31
I would never fall for it twelve times Ed25. After the sixth or seventh time I'm pretty sure I'd learn my lesson.

{Ed025's Note - i thought that davey, yet here i am again with a torch, a balaclava and a boxing glove on one hand mate.. :)

27.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 23:12:13
I have no idea why people seem to hang on to every word a manager says in a press conference that they literally hate doing. Not arsed about what Klopp or any other manager says any more than it requires. I don't pay attention to what people in authority say. I pay attention to what they actually do cos their actions will almways speak loder than any mealy mouth schtick said in a presser they hate doing.

Also, if you are that insecure as an LFC fan that you are getting triggered by what other fans say/ think about our players, fans or manager and need their validation for you to feel good about yourself then, that's a personal problem that you need to go sort out on your own. Leave the rest of us and Klopp out of it.

As for us acting like we are underdogs, the fact is that as long as City and Pep are roaming these PL streets we will ALWAYS be underdogs to them. Like Klopp said, "If you want to win anything in England, you will have to get past Man City at some point". Klopp and the players are used to that. I propose the actual fans do the same.

28.) 26 May 2023
26 May 2023 22:57:27
Brilliant Davey and Ed0025 ??.

And there's me in my full head to toe Liverpool kit and my little autograph book thinking I'm about to meet the team.

Is that you Salah?

30.) 27 May 2023
27 May 2023 08:15:17
I don't put too much trust in what the manager and players say to the press. Most of the time they don't want to be doing it and you can tell.
I know Klopp and the players will be hugely disappointed finishing out of the four and I don't need them to soothe my ego.

31.) 28 May 2023
28 May 2023 04:20:38
Think this comes down to your own personality and your own insecurities. Some people don’t like to be brash and therefore prefer a more humble approach. Some people want others to pull finger so prefer a tougher approach.

But making a leap either way as if someone doesn’t care about something just based on their words and you actually don’t know the person, is just dumb. It’s not talking sense at all just naivety.
