Henderson was brilliant today, wijnaldum again was too hesitant and heavy footed. Its obvious he's playing within himself, needs a goal or two to loosen the shackles. I smell silverware :)

Disagree on Wijnaldum, does his job very well defensively, and if you look at the build up to our moves he is involved heavily. He lacks confidence in front of goal for sure, but I think it'll come with time.

2.) 28 Dec 2016 00:08:42
Lallana took ball from him for. a shooting chance outoute box, damn was he pissed.

3.) 28 Dec 2016 00:38:38
I like wijnaldum he is very quick and strong on the ball and gets through a lot work in the midfield. If he could add the odd goal it'd be great but he does a good job regardless and allows Lallana to do what he does and gives Hendo some protection.

4.) 28 Dec 2016 05:44:39
wijnaldum is heavy-footed, i saw him twice hesitate and react slowly to an opportunity.

5.) 28 Dec 2016 06:51:40
Wijnaldum should be scoring goals and making runs into the box which is why he was bought and Allen was sold.

{Ed001's Note - except that Allen can do that job. He was bought because Klopp believes he improves the team. Allen was sold because he was not good enough. There is no connection between the two at all in anything other than your mind.}

6.) 28 Dec 2016 07:17:45
What did you think of Joe Allen last night Ed?

{Ed001's Note - usual, runs around a lot, falls over a lot looking for free kicks, shows a flash of good play, but does nothing else.}

7.) 28 Dec 2016 07:24:11
There is a solid requirement of that position and how you want the player to perform. Allen lacked physical attributes to play a dedicated CM. Goals from midfield was one concern Klopp went for more attacking player else he could have gone for more solid defensive minded player. I don't think he was brought just to recycle the possession in the middle.
For me he has the same issue as Henderson, lacks composer in front of the goal and I don't see him scoring a lot of goals either.
He wants someone in the mold of Gundagaon.

{Ed001's Note - the same Wijnaldum that has been known for scoring goals as an attacking midfielder throughout his career now lacks composure in front of goal?}

8.) 28 Dec 2016 07:53:52
Well Ed01. He did miss some good chances in front of the goal BUT this might also be a case of instruction from the manager. May be he wouldn't want someone to shoot from distance. He wouldn't want Wiji to bomb very high up the pitch, May be he want Wiji to play an assist role in the build up. Either way it is confusing to me.
I have said this we look a lot similar to Arsenal the way we play when in possession these days.
It would be a waste of talent if Wiji is restricted not to be aversive up front.

{Ed001's Note - what good chances?}

9.) 28 Dec 2016 09:47:13
I rate Wijnaldum but got to say he didn't have his best game and looked frustrated at times.

10.) 28 Dec 2016 17:14:55
Seriously, Harry? Wiji has been and ACM all his career ( with lots of goals to boot. see his record at Newcastle) until Klopp moved him back to do a job for the team, something he`s doing well per Klopp and if you watched the game last night, you saw Hendo get forward a lot more. That was be cause he had Wiji behind him as cover and he`s also the one who covers the spaces along with Hendo, which then allows the likes of Mane, Bobbie, Origi and Lallana to shine. You say he doesn`t score goals. That is no longer his job as he no longer plays the ACM position here.

That job belongs to Lallana now. You also say he was poor in front of goal vs Stoke. When did that ever happen? When did he get the chances you say he got? You mean the two chances that Lallana took away from him? Sorry, bro but your points are incoherent.

Please say the zaha rumours are not true.

WalkOn

1.) 22 Dec 2016 11:18:49
Not true.

2.) 22 Dec 2016 12:17:47
Interesting to see Paul Joyce's claim that we are interested in Draxler for January.

3.) 22 Dec 2016 14:07:41
Draxler is off to PSG.

4.) 23 Dec 2016 00:51:46
PSG = easy money. I can't blame him for that.

19 Dec 2016 22:13:33
Thought both teams were awful tonight. Wijnaldum in particular had a stinker. None the less this win pleases me more than any other this season. Ed1 if you don't mind please. What was the latest sturridge injury?

WalkOn

{Ed001's Note - not sure mate, all I know is it was his calf, but no details.}

1.) 19 Dec 2016 22:20:25
What was so wrong with Gini. feisty fast paced game. 3 points. Merry Christmas Reds and eds. see you boxing day.

2.) 19 Dec 2016 22:31:45
Wijnaldum stinker? Thought he was one of our stand out players, kept it neat and tidy in a scrappy game. Held up well.

3.) 19 Dec 2016 22:42:51
Gini played well imo. First merseysode derby and all. Many have lost their heads in heated battle, but he kept his cool and was steady, if not spectacular. Not sure wheee his goal threat has been this season but he is doing a decent job miblbing the ball, defending and most important, Klopp believes in hkm.

4.) 19 Dec 2016 23:01:13
Had to read that twice thought Sturridge was injured again for a second! GW played well understated performer. There were worse performers but like you say a good win indeed.

5.) 19 Dec 2016 23:17:38
Haven't been his biggest fan so far this season but I'm with the others in saying his was one of the calmest heads out there, recycling the ball well and playing some neat first time passes. He just seriously needs to work on his shooting though like Coop said.

6.) 19 Dec 2016 23:21:34
Gini's experience was vital today as he a, ways kept his head and was tidy in possession. I liked him a lot today, along with Klavan, who was outstanding.

7.) 19 Dec 2016 23:32:09
Wijnaldum was man of the match in my opinion. Kept the ball flowing all game and hardly wasted a ball. Every move we put together went through him. Not sure what match you were watching, mate.

8.) 19 Dec 2016 23:34:32
I thought Gini was terrible tonight he was so rusty it's unreal but not bothered, we won, 3 points on to the next.

06 Dec 2016 15:30:49
anyone seen much of jordan pickford? I've not seen much myself, but he seems good from what I have seen.

WalkOn

1.) 06 Dec 2016 16:15:05
CLASS keeper. they all are until they sign for us.

2.) 06 Dec 2016 16:27:59
He`s too young to be judged as a class GK, IMO. He does have great potential and upside.

3.) 06 Dec 2016 20:59:05
I think Butland will be a great keeper.

27 Nov 2016 20:29:23
Hi ed01. Question for ya if you don't mind. I know its been done to death already, but 13 games in is there any left backs that have impressed you?

WalkOn

{Ed001's Note - James Milner.....}

1.) 28 Nov 2016 06:07:59
with the added bonus he takes brilliant penaltys.

2.) 28 Nov 2016 06:50:02
Bertrand.

3.) 28 Nov 2016 08:23:33
Fair play to Milner, I was bricking it before the season started because we didn't get a new LB. Milner stepped in and made the position his own, absolute quality.

4.) 28 Nov 2016 08:41:12
He's proving us all wrong. Fair play to him.

5.) 28 Nov 2016 13:29:08
Spot on, Ed. I haven`t seen any LB`s that have pleased me this season, not even Bertrand.

6.) 28 Nov 2016 14:56:22
Really not impressed by any left back this season. Milner has been one of the best, but it is in the same way that Amy Childs is one of the best looking girls to cone out of the only way is Essex. She is still pony, just less pony than the rest!

I think it has to be between Milner, Rose, Alonso and Monreal. That sums up the lack of quality really.

7.) 28 Nov 2016 17:38:00
I would take Milner over any of that lot as they are all average.

{Ed001's Note - Rose is rubbish, Alonso is not playing at left back and Monreal has had an awful season, not sure what MKS is on about here. Milner has been a better than those 3 by a huge margin.}

Could of, should of, would of zzzzzzz. Five points off the top, halfway through the season, still to play chelsea, some people are never happy. Some perspective wouldn't go a miss. For me personally i couldn't be happier with the way the season has gone so far.
