To me the point is we intentionally did not sign a midfielder and the word was that we were saving for Bellingham. People made that assumption but no one at the club denied that. Then they come out and say they are withdrawing interest because the fee was too high. It sent a very bad message to the fan base. Regardless of how true the assumption is not signing a first team midfielder was a huge pr mistake.

Surely he’s young enough to adapt to any other position at the moment, might not e the answer for next season but surely should have been given the chance with Ox, Keita and probably Milner moving on in summer

Ox never been the same since injury, shame tbh. Keita been awful, looks good in patches then gets injured again. Both should have been sold, Milner a useful utility man but plays far too many minutes ahead of others
