Eds do you have any further insight to Fabrizio Romano's claim that Nunez was wanted by Chelsea last summer and indeed that's a possible transfer this summer? We know Edwards wasn't/ isn't a fan of Nunez and that this was a Klopp purchase and not based on a data-driven option that Edwards goes for? TIA.

Just one thing, probably showing inexperience, but I knocked Amorim for it so I think its only fair to knock Slot too. Can he not keep his gob shut until the current season ends?
I wouldn't be too happy to hear my manager, with games left in the season, to be talking about how happy he is to be going to another club.
Now, as I said, it's probably down to inexperience but I would think the top brass at LFC aren't too happy about it either.
ANYWAY, hopefully Slot moves smoothly (slots? ) into the position of LFC manager and uses the talents he will have at his disposal to have a very sucessful career at our club. Looking forward to it actually.

I think Klopp's and Slot's statements to the press are to allow them to keep control of the narrative to some extent and curtail the worst of the speculation when things inevitably leak.

Or even a quicker decision on who we wanted? Still would of loved alonso, even amor in really excited me but slot is well respected and he's got feyernoord playing decent footy.

I like the guy saying unambiguously that he's up for it. He's also not jeopardising his current team's future by coming out with it now. Feyenoord are pretty much guaranteed to come second in the Dutch Eredivisie. They're 9 points behind PSV with 3 matches to play and a negative goal difference of 30. Meanwhile, the third placed team are 12 points behind.

I'm not sure specifics were ever reported, but from the outside looking in there was a steady stream of departures of key people (Edwards, Graham, Ward) that coincided with Mike Gordon becoming less involved (FSG shifted his focus to other projects), Billy Hogan (a sales background) becoming more involved, and Billy Hogan being seemingly less capable of keeping Klopp from being a lot more involved in recruitment. Always got the impression it was a bad move to put a guy who enjoys pleasing people / getting yeses for a living in charge of Klopp, who needs a stern, strict boss like Gordon.

Olise is a massive United fan and is on record as saying he wants to play for them. Given that United, Chelsea and City will both rumoured to be after him in the summer I’d forget any notion of him joining as it will be to any club that isn’t us, it’s not worth bothering only to be turned down. Eze is a London lad and has no interest in leaving the place, he’s said as much, expect he’s waiting for Arsenal or Chelsea to make the inevitable offer.

As a resident in London for many a year now, I feel London has become a cess pit. It's truly disgusting.
I am no hard man but can look after myself, but I don't feel safe in London when on my own.
Even some of the more decent areas have become unrecognisable. There's so many scummy people that would kill you for your last watsit.
I have to travel with my kids regularly in central London and I am embarrassed they have to witness what the capital has become.

VV, Odegaard is a Liverpool fan and has been on record previously about how much he wants to play for us. I wouldn't take much notice about what players say to the media about what fan of a team they are. Caicedo, for example, has been a RM and Arsenal fan before deciding that he's a Chelsea fan. It's all mostly pandering and posturing. If we wanted Eze and Olise and seriously went for them, I'm sure they would consider joining us.
