Just watched the Klopp interview on Diary of a CEO - highly recommend and it reminded me to consider the below:

- Jota loss impact runs deep, and although we will never want to use this as an excuse we have no idea the impact on some players. Even Klopp struggled to talk about it and he isn't facing constant reminders every day.

- Patience is key, from us as fans but also the team and management. Let's just go through this storm and trust in senior leadership.

- let's not become Chelsea! I don't agree with some recent Slot decisions BUT for those already considering getting hime out - give you heads a wobble. If winning us a league title doesn't buy him time to figure this out then I don't know what does. I for one don't want to be changing managers every 6 months.

- Trust there is a plan: the recruiting team are not stupid. They knew that the likes of Wirtz, Ekitike and Isak etc would mean having to adapt. Even Wirtz said he was sold on the vision of how Slot intended to use him. Perhaps Slot is trying to introduce this slowly (i. e. new players and gradually change/ tweak how we play) instead of all at once.

I agree with many that some of the decisions haven't been good and the play has been hard to watch, but if we can't sit back, have faith in leadership and be patient, trusting it will come good as a fan base, then how can we expect the players to buy into ideas the minute they stop winning.

Is Gomez fit? Just think about our defense and balance -

Would like to see Gomez at RB and play like how Kerkez is currently playing. And then allow Kerkez to play more naturally as a fullback and link/ overlap with Gakpo.

Playing Gomez means all 3 of your CBs are on the pitch at the same time. Gomez' injuries are inevitable, which would leave us in an even more precarious position at CB.

I wouldn't risk it as the outcome is pretty much guaranteed.

However, I do agree that we are short a CB that can allow us to invert more naturally to let one of the fullbacks go. Makes the Guehi miss look even more costly.

Just to get away from the Arne ten slot bashing for a min, Aston Villa's ban of maccabi fans can't be allowed to go unpunished? What happens when spurs go there are they going to get banned too? ( think spurs have large Jewish fanbase) to the point now where maccabi don't want the tickets .

Play the game behind closed doors and a villa fans from every away game in Europe.

{Ed078's Note - surely it's a police decision and not the decision of the club?

Nothing to do with the Maccabi fans being Jewish but them being a bunch of thugs. It isn't without precedent that travelling fans are banned at away games for Europe if they cause trouble. Maccabi throwing a fit and using the anti-semitism card is just them diverting from the main issue of their own fans' poor behaviour in away fixtures last season.

They deserve to get banned after the ruckus they caused and it is a big hoo-ha over nothing.

{Ed001's Note - exactly Drac. This is a set of fans that would be banned anyway, if it wasn't that UEFA are too scared of being accused of anti-semitism. They are the worst in the whole competition for racist attacks and violence. They shouldn't be in Europe anyway, they are in Asia.}

What I see is a desperation for outcome

And not enough attention to performance

This applies to the coaching staff as well as some of the knee jerkers amongst the fan base.

It’s leading us (Slot) to making adjustments that appear crazy in pursuit of a result.

Attacking fullbacks where one doesn’t play and the other is playing more as a LCB and inverting narrow inside the winger

We end up with a midfield pivot of Jones and Wirtz. We've had another midfield combo of Endo and Jones. Who had those midfield combo on their bingo
card?

It is a results based business after-all but I would rather we took the long road to get to where we want to be even if it means we don’t win anything this season.

In saying that, the thing that really worries me is the coaching team getting in their own way and therefore impacting on the development curve of the team.

Whilst we created chances, that second half felt more like a team of individuals trying to create some magic as opposed to a machine rolling forward together.

What I would like to see is more calm from the boss and the players.

They're chasing small and short term wins and all that will continue happen is that we get even further stuck in the mud.

Slot’s job is not under any threat.

Yes, there’s been a bit of tension in the dressing room lately, but that’s normal when results dip. Media are already trying to spin it into some player-vs-manager drama, but it’s being blown way out of proportion.

The squad’s going through a big transition period and still feeling the loss of a close teammate and friend. Counsellors have been involved and the club’s handling things properly behind the scenes.

No panic needed — the belief in Slot remains strong. Let’s just back the lads; they’re more than capable of getting things back on track.

Great post that Ned and a bit of perspective and common sense amongst the chaos.

The media are looking for the next big story after Ang and Potter there’s no doubt about it. Given the constant media analysis of every detail it’s often the case that between them they do identify the weaknesses and errors of any manager or player, even if individually some of the pundits go over the top and sensationalise things too much. Amorim was close to the edge a few weeks ago, Arne could be in that place in a few weeks himself unfortunately.

Difference for Arne is that he has last seasons success which buys him time. Main problem he’s got is that even some of the fans are starting to doubt his judgement, and he either doesn’t know his best team or is reluctant to pick it. We’ve also gone from a defined pattern of play, to no obvious pattern which also reflects badly on him and his staff. The fall off has been pretty obvious, but equally a few wins will easily get it back on track but he needs them now before the noise gets any louder.

Hi Edwards and John Henry, you want to build a Galatico team, spend like Real Madrid, you need a galactico manager like Ancelotti

If you want to build a team, where you groom good players to great players, with more margin from failure and longer timeliness to reach success, yes Slot from Eredivisie is good enough.

I rests my case.

If I ever get put on trial I hope you are the opposing lawyer.

TB2, we are on same Liverpool team. Let's hold hands and go through this difficult time together.
