I know most of the discussion will be about transfers today, but I wanted to post about the match yesterday. I said in the in-game chat that Diaz and Elliott are really stealing the show for me. They work really hard and have a lot of energy, they remind me of Robbi in that sense. They are the most fun to watch right now.

Also really like what I see from Fabio. He has work to do, but he brings a spark when he comes in as a sub. I'd love to see a midfield of Fabio-Fabinho-Elliott to start against Everton. You can always bring on Milner if it's not going well, but that is a dynamic and energetic midfield I'd love to see.

Why would you like to see Fabinho, he us a liability at the moment.

I’m a bit worried about Klopp after yesterday. Never seen has as continuously angry all game and looked like his eyes were popping out of his head at one point. Great result but to need to get this animated to scrape a win at home to Newcastle isn’t good for him. Thought Gomez, Elliot, Carvalho, Diaz and Firmino were good, Salah assisted 2 goals so not bad. It’s the elder more experienced players and those constantly injured we need to replace in midfield of course to keep the team improving.

Bobby too was good, people like it or not.

Harvey was spectacular.

I think the quadrangle of Diaz, Carvalho, Nunez and Elliott will be key to our season. There's not much to say about Salah and Jota because I've seen enough to know that they will be there amongst the goals. I see no reason for a sudden drop off from those two, injuries permitting. And if Firmino gets close to 15 goals for the season it'll be a bonus. Not much we can do about the defense because Klopp has pretty much settled on TAA, Ramsay, Gomez, Matip, Konate, VVD, Robbo and Tsimikas, and they are capable of both brilliance and silly mistakes depending on the opponent. So that's why I'm hoping that quadrangle will produce and we effectively outscore every team, every game. I haven't mentioned the midfield because I think it's time for an overhaul, and I believe we'll have that by next summer; Ox and Keita out on frees, Milner retiring, and Hendo and Thiago spending more time in a support role rather than starting.

I'd say its just passion for the game, and we was all feeling the same way he was.

Against teams with a low block I wouldn’t mind seeing (when fit) a midfield of Thiago, Elliot and Carvalho have a go.

Probably sounds a bit extreme but if we’ve got 70% of possession then why not try and be more creative. Last night it took us almost 60 mins to get our first shot on target.

Fab, Hendo and Millie are workhorse midfielders who protect the defence and take the possession off the opposition but this season against Fulham, Palace, Utd and Newcastle when playing they’ve been cut open and we’ve given up lots of opportunities to the opposition despite them having 30% possession.

Think someone has told Bobby to stop coming so deep and stay up top, think i saw him come really short 4 times maybe whereas he is usually constantly deep, not sure what has happened to Salah but he struggled to get passed Target using pace, that new contract seems unworthy at the minute and an expensive mistake, not the same player since January.

Agree Bobby had another good performance last night.

Dropped really really deep a few times and lost possession but when he stayed up top he looked good. His through ball for Diaz chance was world class and his finish was brilliant in fairness.

Realistically there should be no need for him to pick the ball up deeper than our midfielders but I think once Thiago is back he will stay further up top and hopefully get plenty more goals.

The defending for their goal was terrible.
I've been very critical of Firmino but credit where it's due, he did ok last night. I still want to see more of him though.

Interesting that you say that about Klopp WarMachine73.
I’m more worried about him when he looks a little downcast, as he did at the start of the game. That’s not really his demeanour, or his Lfc demeanour anyway.
When he got angry, I liked it, Klopp loves all that stuff, you feel it all goes in the memory banks of why he loves the game?
At the end, in front of the Kop, he was totally energised again, giving it what for.
We need Klopp with the juices flowing lol.

Been saying it since the first game, we may not be creating many chances but that’s not the fault of the forward players, they’re doing okay with the hand they’ve been given and are showing some fight.

Everyone playing behind them has been a disgrace, Gomez aside who i was impressed with once again. I’ve seen people malign Henderson but I thought that Robertson, Trent, Fabinho and most of all van Dijk were so much worse. You wouldn’t think it possible that players sat that far back could influence the performance of the forwards, but they really are.

Every decision they make seems to be the wrong one, they aren’t switched on and look completely off the pace, i’d go as far as to say lazy. The amount of times that Robertson or Trent could have made a run or shown for a pass, but instead were just stood in no mans land, everyone sat by me was losing their marbles. Their passes are wayward and lazy and they are slowing down the play to a snails pace, and that’s before you even get started on their lax defending.

Was blessed to be present for that last minute goal but the buzz felt very hollow. I knew how rubbish we were and as I had feared, the reaction against Bournemouth was only a temporary one. The attitude and tactical issues still remain and it’s looking like it could be a long season.

On the plus side, I get the sense that Klopp may be catching on. Substituting Robbo and Trent at the same time was a ballsy move born out of anger; Trent didn’t receive a hug or a handshake and sat down immediately. Even Alisson ran straight down the tunnel at half time, I can only assume out of frustration in knowing we got away with one. I hope that Klopp is dropping the Mr Nice Guy facade and showing some of his trusted players that they are not undroppable. Putting in Tsimikas for Robbo in the derby would be a good start.

JK23, that’s pretty extreme, bro. Ddon’t let those stats fool you cos clearly, Klopp isn’t fooled either. IMO, we may have 70% possession and all that but clearly, that is by design and a tactic used by the opposition low blocking us to better counter us which is working a treat cos with Trent/ Robbo bombing forward with Elliott joining and as soon as we lose the ball, we are sitting ducks on the counter. This is not , of course. Hence, You’re still going to need a Fab at DM to help cover those gaps whenever this scenario occurs.

That said, I wouldn’t mind a Fab, Harvey and Thiago trip in midfield and I think that midfield would do a much better job, imo.

I love the mans passion Juicer, my man love couldn't be any bigger for klopp. But yesterday he overstepped the mark imo - constantly shouting at the fourth official constantly waving his arms and having a go at the ref who to be fair I thought was ok and added 8 minutes on at the end to give us the opportunity to score in Fergie time due to their time wasting - but it wasn't passion from Klopp, it was Anger and anxiety - it didn't surprise me when it nearly kicked off at the end of the game. Maybe the team needed him constantly shouting at them but I'd have hoped at home to Newcastle it would have been a bit easier for him.

{Ed025's Note - he’s become one moaning little prick WM. He’s tuned into this horribly toxic mourinho mark 2 mate. I used to be a fan but he’s so far up his own arse that I can’t even stand watching him now..

15.) 01 Sep 2022
01 Sep 2022 17:58:32
Oli you’ve said don't let the stats fool me and then gone on to say that it’s actually happening in games by design from the opposition to counter.

You’ve kind of agreed with the point I was trying to make. Hendo and Fab are there to stop the counters but we’ve been getting cut open by teams far too easily whilst being less creative in possession.

That’s not me saying Hendo and Fab don’t start games because in the games where it’s not against low block teams then we will need them.

I think the preferred option against low block teams would be to go with 2 in the middle and a Bobby/ Elliot or Carvalho in the 10 providing the chances for 3 ahead out of Diaz, Jota, Nunez and Salah.

I’ve only mentioned them 3 in midfield because to play with a 10 only maybe one of Bobby/ Elliot or Carvalho play and in the last 2 games them 3 have been out shining light. And the more lights you get on that pitch at any one time the brighter you will shine.

Something's changed in him this season Ed025, that's for sure. 1 win in 4 before last night probably not helping him tbh.

{Ed025's Note - he was a breath of fresh air when he came WM and I have sung his praises for a long time. But I’m afraid dr jeckyl has turned into mr hyde mate. Is it pressure? I don’t know but we all have pressure in our lives but that doesn’t mean you have to turn into a monster and social bully. He makes fergie look like mother Theresa and I’m sick to death of his sideline antics and the disdain and bullying he shows towards the officials. Nasty nasty person ..

01 Sep 2022 18:40:10
Seeing now Elliot and Carvalho are coming in for some stick for their celebration last night. It’s a bloody tough one. I can see why it’s upset people but others are now jumping on the bandwagon and using their dislike for LFC to try and hang the pair out to dry.

Clubs PR staff will need to try and get on top of this. I think both players have done it unintentionally and an apology should be made from both.

You’ve got short memories Ed025. Fergie was appalling at times so totally disagree.

{Ed025's Note - he was horrible at times Tom. But he pales into insignificance when compared to klopp mate. Fergie crossed the line for sure. But the line is just a dot where this pathetic excuse for a human being is concerned mate..

01 Sep 2022 19:00:44
That's a bit dramatic, Ed025.
You're better off sticking to your wind ups and jokes, mate.
The drama queen look doesn't suit you.

{Ed025's Note - you may be right rigsby. Some things just get my goat mate. And bullying and inciting the crowd are two of them. I have had my say now and that’s the end of it..

21.) 01 Sep 2022
01 Sep 2022 19:03:57
Ah, there you are Ed025. Trust you are keeping well.

It's my duty to further extend heartfelt greetings from Roberto Firmino to you, our "non goal-scoring forward" (3 goals in 4 match appearances, #1 in the EPL with 3 assists) .

Are you going to make us all wait until the end of the season to recant, or will you choose the wise path and do it right now, LOL? ??.

{Ed025's Note - yeah mate that’s 2 decent performances in the past 3 and a half years. Good luck to the guy I say mate because he comes across as a nice person..

22.) 01 Sep 2022
01 Sep 2022 19:08:17
I can’t agree with you there Ed025.
There was over 50,000 people in the stadium doing exactly what Klopp was doing, and probably millions at home watching doing exactly the same, as were my and my dad.
Newcastle got what they deserved.

{Ed025's Note - we all have our viewpoints juicer and you know mine mate. Finito..

23.) 01 Sep 2022
01 Sep 2022 19:14:58
Klopp is doing exactly what he use-to do but now we are not winning so peeps are over analysing everything.

Imagine if he just sits there without doing anything and players like TAA VVD Robbo etc keep on strolling on the pitch? Yes Klopp let's smile let's calm down LMAO

He looked pretty calm when Bournemouth backroom staff were sledding our bench whole game even threw bottles but everyone here is talking about Klopp I wonder why? Imagine if Klopp had thrown bottles at opposition backroom staff?

Time has gone of being calm its time of pushing the team especially in trying times or else will fall down like neverton in no time lol

There's a reason Fergie won more league titles then neverton as a club sums it up. There's no way Klopp can allow losing attitude creep back in the club. He's paid to make a difference and it worked very well yesterday.

24.) 01 Sep 2022

So the manager should act like the fans then Juicer?

25.) 01 Sep 2022

Who cares what Klopp is like on the touchlines, oh dear a blue nose upset, if you support Liverpool why are you worried, let other so called fans worry about their managers and stop moaning about ours, chances are your manager is not the best anyway.

01 Sep 2022 19:29:57
Rattling off Firmino's stats and rubbing them in the ed's face comes across as a bit insecure to be honest.

Firmino has been way off over the last two seasons, and the criticism is justified.

Excuse for a human being? Wind your neck in Ed. He’s hardly Boris Johnson. Relax mate.

Ed025, Excuse for a human being? More like Putin? Are you drunk? That is just wrong.

Adam. Insecure? What are you whining and babbling about? I have a running joke with Ed025 about Firmino since ages. And it's going to continue, because we both handle it well. You can't handle it? Go on to the next post. But don't get judgemental about me using words you use in the mirror.

{Ed025's Note - some people don’t get banter ArAy. Thank god most on here do mate..

Way out of line a way off the mark ed25 always have respect for you mate but these posts above had they come from a user would have been deleted and not aired.

Sorry but you need to pulled up when you start to talk utter nonsense.

Klopp is far from anything you state and that is obvious from every person player and staff he has ever worked with.

{Ed025's Note - a bit over the top maybe. But he has changed mate. And not for the better imo..
