Can I ask what is the thinking behind Sinclair moving to Watford only to go on loan to championship. He could have done that whilst remaining an LFC player. Seems odd for him personally, unless he has issue with the club or vice versa.

Renter

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool didn't want to keep him and he certainly didn't want to stay. He needs game time which Watford have discovered.}

1.) 31 Aug 2016 13:18:32
He may be hunting money. I believe I'm right in saying that a player receives 5% of the transfer fee unless they hand in a transfer request, which would usually waive their claim to that fee.

5% of £4m is a pretty significant £200k. Literally just for moving.

This is all purely speculative though as I'm not certain the player gets 5%, and even if they do there is nothing to suggest that is the primary reason Sinclair left the club.

{Ed002's Note - He left the club for the reasons I gave - nothing to do with money. He wanted to play.}

2.) 31 Aug 2016 13:45:15
He could have stayed and went on loan. Watford discovered he needed games? . Everyone knew he needed games.

{Ed001's Note - the club wanted rid, he wanted to go. I fail to see what is so difficult to grasp about this?}

3.) 31 Aug 2016 14:08:04
You mean the club wanted rid after he rejected the new contract offer? Because if he had accepted that he could have just got on with his development and gone on loan sooner. Instead, he's set his own development back and will end up going on loan anyway. Compare him to Brannagan and many of his young teammates and it's hard to not get the whiff of a big-time Charlie off the lad.

{Ed002's Note - It wasn't just the contract.}

He's a quality footballer.

So it seems that somewhere in the region of £60m, probably more with fees and add ons, has acquired us Mane and Wijnaldum. I'm split on what to make of that - whilst they are players which have undoubted quality they do come with widely known question marks over their heads around work ethic / attitude. Maybe though, for 60m, acquiring 2 youngish offensive players who have displayed [some] strong premier league performances for a club without European footy is at the top end of the kind of business we could hope to do. What are Ed's views on this? Good value, overpaid or just general 'what we can expect' given big to deals, no Europe and what else might've been available? Cheers.

Amongst that you make a good point. We do not have European football, we are likely not to be seen as challengers or even by some top four. These might be the top of the table we are sat at, these might be the best we can aquire at this stage, players who might get us to the next level but not from that next level.

People might want Sane, Gotze or last window Depay. Have any of them been alive since we one the title? Sane was about 9 when we won the CL.

Klopp will get us there and the next batch of amazing we will be able to attract, until then we go with what we've got and both players have proven they can do it in the Prem which is what we need. Roll on the season and let's exceed.

2.) 21 Jul 2016 20:31:56
The attitude/ work ethic problem (if it exists) will be dealt with by Klopp - you can be sure of that much.

Max ren. one of the best post iv seen in here for a long time.

I read this feed every day. Don't think I've ever seen a post with more agrees than disagrees. Some of them don't even make any sense to agree or disagree to, maybe just a question or a query, but sure enough everyone furiously disagrees!

Fantastic work anyway guys. I'm not sure whether you get anything from the site - commercial or otherwise - but I'm pretty grateful for the continuous stream of information related to LFC and bits of knowledge I've picked up over the years from here about how the transfer market, player contracts and the football industry as a whole works.

{Ed023's Note - Cheers for that Renter - I will pass on your message to Ed001 and 002 the two eds who keep and made this page what it is today}

1.) 08 May 2016 00:40:59
This site is amazing - whether you like the news or not the eds are very informative; at times give you their opinion on things (and get slaughtered if anything is slighty different) still we all come on here as it is the only place for news.

2.) 08 May 2016 01:08:09
Great site, nothing like it anywhere on the net. Love the insight the eds give, I usually come on just to read the red comments left by them I know they get slaughtered at times especially ed002 but if he was to leave or stop leaving his usual harsh but usually fair comments the site wouldn't be the same. Great work by all.

3.) 08 May 2016 03:39:35
i love this site. don't goto bed after shift without reading it.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

4.) 08 May 2016 03:45:46
It's def addictive on here. You get everything. We all moan sometimes. Some more so than others. But that's what make it what it is. If you don't reply to comments in anger you will be pissing yourself laughing at times. All good fun.

5.) 08 May 2016 04:09:46
Its alright. Its known that there is bug on this site where the agrees and disagrees are switched. At least that's how i treat those agrees and disagrees to my posts.

{Ed001's Note - in your case, the disagrees are defo no bug. The agrees on the other hand.....}

6.) 08 May 2016 05:27:33
Yeah, a truly great site. How it has evolved and improved in the past years. I still remembered 6 or 7 years ago, when it was only footballrumours. co. uk, and it was a really pain in the arse to view the site given that it wasn't actually mobile site, needed to move the page sideways apart from scrolling up and down just to read the posts. Oh, and the posts back then, hilarious. But more hilarious was, I remembered I believed most of the posts. Until suddenly there was this Macca, and I started to be a bit smarter.

What an effort and commitment you guys have put on this. Now there are pages for almost all of the clubs.

Good job guys. Like the original post, don't know how much you guys are getting for doing this, if there are any, but i don't care really. As long as the sites keep on running, it is all that matters. Thank you Eds!

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

7.) 08 May 2016 06:32:15
I really got addicted to this place when FSG first takeover and I check almost every day. It seems some people just come here to disagree with others for fun but I still love it. I have to shake my head at some arguments people have but maybe that's part of the charm? Anyway, I will be on here every day and maybe every hour when it comes to transfer window time!

8.) 08 May 2016 06:57:14
Definitely agree. Amazing site with tons of info, views and perspectives. Needless to say, I am addicted too and check it at least 3-4 times a day. Need to wear body armour sometimes, from the flying projectiles from fellow posters and Ed001/ Ed002, but everyone seems to take it as well as they dish out, so it's cool. Love the site.

9.) 08 May 2016 06:57:30
Hi Susan

Eds, if you ever think about adding more feature to the site, a feature to allow users to flirt to each other would be superb.

{Ed001's Note - I doubt the female members of the community would agree with that. They would never get any peace from the pervs (*ahemReetahem*) amongst us.}

10.) 08 May 2016 07:15:44
Lee - you're simply the new "Harry" on this site, LOL. The original Harry seems to have sobered down. Ask the Eds or fellow posters on here, if you don't know what I mean. :-)

11.) 08 May 2016 07:32:29
The site is the first one i go on when ever i pick my phone up. Top draw info and honesty from all the eds, even if ed002 rips ya head off every now and then lol.

12.) 08 May 2016 07:53:31
Got to agree with everything the others have said. Top, top site with excellent info from the Eds. Even the bitter Chelsea Ed gives brilliant info, with a couple of great one liners thrown in. Ed01 seems to be from my era and his knowledge is superb about the older days. Keep up the good work. It may seem that some don't appreciate this site but on the whole the majority of us couldn't do without it. Massive thanks to all who help this site remain no 1 on the list of football sites.

13.) 08 May 2016 07:54:16
Best site on the internet and the site that loads of journos seem to have as an EXCLUSIVE source without any level of credit being given. I've been using this site since around 1999 (Jesus, I'm old) and a Turkish friend told me he had inside info that Emile Heskey would not be joining us (2000). I got coated and rightly so. lol. I also used to think I knew loads about finance just because I could put two and two together. Ed002 put me in my place many a time. lol, I've slowly learned. You've got to love all the Eds who give endlessly to this site.

14.) 08 May 2016 10:54:39
Its alright, nothing special!

Hi Eds

Daily visitor to the site - thanks

I'm confused by the push for Benteke and I haven't seen (although I may have missed) any strong reservations about Benteke which I have myself.

Players similar to Benteke such as Lambert and Carroll have not only not succeeded under Brendan but have simply not been played. Players such as Lallana and Coutinho just don't provide the kind of service that the big men need.

However players like Suarez and Sturridge who's game is all about finding space have thrived.

Yet here were are again chasing someone very similar to the strikers who have failed previously.

It would be good to get your views on Benteke and how he would fit into our game? I'm confused with what we are doing this summer

Renter

{Ed002's Note - This has been done to death - but Benteke is a decent player with a good goal scoring record, whilst he would not have been my choice he was a target Liverpool were very keen on.}
