Hi eds. Hearing from sly sports about ox and his contract negotiations stalling with arsenal. I know klopp likes him. Do u think it will trigger Liverpool to go try get him or is it all rubbish from sky? .

Lukeo123

{Ed002's Note - For reasons beyond me Klipperty does indeed have the Klopps for AOC.}

1.) 11 Jul 2017 14:24:57
Maybe he's a fan of Little Mix ed002.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what that is.}

2.) 11 Jul 2017 14:26:41
I simply don't understand the transfer let alone the man. People claim he is versatile, Who is not versataile at Liverpool? Emre Can is Versataile, Henderson, Wiji and Lallana all are Versataile. This is pure wasting of lines on a player who would never start in the first place! He is neuter a CM, DM or a holding midifelder which could be justified if signed!

3.) 11 Jul 2017 14:37:34
Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah! LFC daily meant half and half that by no means mean he is neutered Harry!

4.) 11 Jul 2017 14:37:48
Harry chill mate. He can cover wing back as well as full back and on either wing to cover for Mane or Salah. My only thoughts are can we offer him more game time than Arsenal can. Im guessing he is seeking more game time and can we give him that?

5.) 11 Jul 2017 14:38:43
I can sort of understand to an extent. We will be competing in the Champions League next season plus all the others. Last season when we looked at the bench, there was only a couple youngsters who he could turn too (Woodburn and Trent. couple of times Ejaria) . Maybe Klopp thinks that AOC can add that little bit of experience and versatility that we was lacking last season? You have all got to admit at times the bench looked very weak and inexperienced?

6.) 11 Jul 2017 14:39:43
I do believe that neutering our players will likely have a negative impact on their performance, Harry.

Whilst it will likely curb their passions away from the game, it may well have a negative impact on their aggression in the 'tackle'.

7.) 11 Jul 2017 14:45:16
I think that we need to trust Klopp when it comes to choice of playing personnel. Last year there was an outcry when we didn't get Zielinski and ended up with Gini and look how well he did for us last season.

Ultimately we have a squad that has very little depth, especially in comparison with our competitors who continue to strengthen. The addition of a player with premier league, champions league and cup final experience would be a boost. Plus he's only 23 and I'm sure Klopp will get more out of him than Arsene.

8.) 11 Jul 2017 14:50:00
Ljervis, that's what I am saying mate. He will surely want assured game time, and I don't see that we can offer him it.

9.) 11 Jul 2017 14:57:18
I can't remember an outcry when we didn't sign Zielinski.

10.) 11 Jul 2017 14:58:41
Would be quite happy if we sign Ox, probs not a first team player but definitly an improvement on the bench and with extra champions league games this year as well as cups, we'll need a bit more than just kids on the bench.

No doubt that we'll need to go out and spend a bit on class players to improve the starting 11 but I do understand why Klopp would want to bring Ox in as our bench last year season severly lacking most of the time.

11.) 11 Jul 2017 14:59:14
And zielinski has been fantastic for Napoli.

12.) 11 Jul 2017 15:16:16
Zielinski was a player that Klopp and most on this forum wanted us to get last season. When we didn't get him and we went for Wijnaldum people on this forum were criticising the transfer and questioning Klopp (the outcry Cobra) .

As it stands Wijnaldum has been an excellent addition.

Zielinski has had a good season though in Italy.

13.) 11 Jul 2017 15:19:59
I agree with a few points made above. Firstly, I don't think he will improve the starting 11 if everyone is fully fit. But. it's going to be a long season and everyone won't always be fully fit and injury free. Can he add something to the squad that we didn't have last year? Yes I think so. Worth a punt but not at the expense of a problem position being sorted.

14.) 11 Jul 2017 15:24:47
If we're going to win the quadruple this coming season we need players like Ox as fillers.

15.) 11 Jul 2017 15:50:44
He's a good player Ed2.

16.) 11 Jul 2017 15:51:20
He will be a great signing (if it happens) . Top player who will thrive under Klopp.

17.) 11 Jul 2017 16:53:56
Most of us agree we need a deeper bench. And most of us can see that Klopp likes versatile players. What's the problem with signing versatile players for the bench? I'm sure even Ox knows he will not start at either Arsenal or Liverpool, regardless of whom he chooses. If it mattered so much to him, then he would have talked with mid or lower table teams where his chances of starting are higher. People need to chill a bit and yes, read their posts, at least once, before posting.

18.) 11 Jul 2017 18:21:46
All well and good if he signs and the same with Robertson I will get behind both but my worries is that they improve the squad but not the first 11 what I think we should be doing first is improving the starting line up and then worry about the squad we're back in the champions league for the first time in ages so we need some special type of players that doesn't mean spending stupid money on a player I just want a signing or two that I can sit up and think that player will definitely improve the first 11 and I really don't get that with the 2 players I mentioned in saying that I'm happy with salah and it is still very early days in the window.

19.) 11 Jul 2017 18:24:58
Yeah ra he'd probably be an excellent buy for Everton hah
But no I like the idea of us buying him. He has got quality. He needs to show it a he'll of a lot more but sometimes a Fresh start and a move to a club with a different style of manager, play, and even fans can turn out to be a perfect fit.

20.) 11 Jul 2017 19:22:53
I agree with Ed002, I can't understand the reasons why we would sign a player that wouldn't improve one single starting position in our first eleven. He's a very average winger, a very poor full back and a woeful centre midfielder.

21.) 11 Jul 2017 21:31:36
Don't understand all the negativity towards Ox. He's a 100% player. Excellent athlete. Ticks all the boxes of a Kloppo player. I remember a few seasons ago against Arsenal. We were coasting it. All over Arsenal. Ox came on and Arsenal started to outplay us. He was running from deep with the ball causing us all sorts of problems. He won a penalty from Stevie G which they scored. Sometimes I wonder if people actually watch players. I rated Milner when he was a kid the moment I saw him. Some players just give it all.

22.) 11 Jul 2017 21:44:49
Dude, Oxlade wants (and is asking for) a centre midfield role. A role that he is not capable of, if you want to see the real Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, watch Arsenal getting humped 5-1 by Munich or France turning England over. You'll see a tactically inept footballer with very little in the way technique. You put him in the midfield against even mediocre opposition and we'd get a battering. He's a bench impact player at best.

23.) 11 Jul 2017 22:07:41
Ed02 will be silently hoping that LFC bag him instead of his fav team Chelsea.

Cheers.

24.) 11 Jul 2017 23:36:10
All you ox doubters are going singing his name in six months. Versatile is important and "if you know me" you are right. Can and lallana and coutinio are versatile and that is not a coincidence. It's what klopp wants as we assess the team sheet by looking at the opposition to look for weaknesses and tactics. It's also very handy for injuries ad these players can cover most positions. We have had a premier league legend playing left back for us. he is right footed. I think he's being bought for a forward/ winger. Great transfer. If kieta comes (which I think he will) then I think can will leave or go to bayern Munich. Or we have 5/ 6 cms? No striker. Ox will score goals.

25.) 12 Jul 2017 00:58:41
You're right ther super red.

Id actually say that klopp could put out a full team of 10 fit, box to box midfielders,

Good all rounders who can attack and defend as a unit and fit.

They could all interchange positions, even with the goalkeeper lol.

26.) 12 Jul 2017 09:08:19
Ox has never demonstrated before that he is capable of consistently scoring goals. Lacks composure. Like I say, no better than Andros Townsend.

01 Jul 2017 12:13:26
Ed002, thanks for the reply. I do understand the embarrassing statement lfc put out but just concerned we aren't moving away from Vvd. Look at how quickly Chelsea moved for a cb when they realised Southamptons stance yet we don't seem to be moving on from it.

Lukeo123

{Ed002's Note - Really, was there no hint in the Liverpool's statement which included the words: "We respect Southampton's position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player."? Chelsea were told by Southampton that van Dijk is not for sale so they have been looking at other options.}

1.) 01 Jul 2017 12:20:49
We weren't looking for a CB until VVD became interested, apparently. I'd expect we do as our statement and either return in Jan or most likely next summer.
We need a LB and Klopp wants Keita. These two should've been the focus since the statement.

2.) 01 Jul 2017 12:31:37
Even if VVD was available and for less than stupid money would he really improve the team that much?

3.) 01 Jul 2017 13:01:27
Spot on, Max Renn. People need to take a hint and let this VVD nonsense go instead of wishing upon a star. As for Chelsea, they are going for Rudiger, who is a better, more experienced and quality CB than VVD yet would cost 30m reportedly, over twice the price VVD would cost. Go figure.

4.) 01 Jul 2017 13:21:50
BR. rudiger is not as good as you are making out, vvd has been outstanding since he's been in the prem, he's much better than rudiger! We need to spend big to win the prem simple.

5.) 01 Jul 2017 14:37:06
Southampton have just signed a cb from Lech Poznan (? ) . Fuel for the fire?

6.) 01 Jul 2017 16:25:45
We do very well to start mending a very broken reputation by sticking to our word again and moving on.

7.) 01 Jul 2017 20:28:18
Yes fuel to the fire. Apparently we are readying a bid for 35 mil for Jan Bednarek (the cb they just signed for 5 mil) . May as well. Be more expensive next year!

8.) 01 Jul 2017 22:44:14
Should just hijack their deal easier all round.

9.) 02 Jul 2017 00:37:40
Why don't they go for manolas who st Petersburg were going to buy but he didn't turn up for the medical.

{Ed001's Note - because he has disciplinary issues.}

Eds, if Liverpool did pull off the Vvd deal, who do u see as suffering as a result in the cb position? Or do u see anyone leaving as a result.

Lukeo123

{Ed002's Note - Not at this point.}

20 Aug 2017 23:28:58
Sly sports confirming Southampton to buy lazio cb hoedt. Has to be a replacement for Vvd. Even if it's not Liverpool I suspect he will be gone soon.

Lukeo123

1.) 21 Aug 2017 05:51:54
Could also be a replacement for Jose Fonte? They never managed to get one in January did they.

{Ed001's Note - Jack Stephens was already earmarked as Fonte's replacement, that was why they wanted Fonte to stay one more year to help Stephens get ready. They look to buy the replacements a year or more ahead, so that they have time to bed in. Romeu was brought in to replace Wanyama, but Wanyama was not sold immediately, as a for instance.}

08 Aug 2017 22:18:05
Isco. What a player. Deserves his place at Madrid.

Lukeo123

1.) 09 Aug 2017 15:20:23
I actually rate Isco. Can make things happen and pops up with goals from midfield. After Kovacic, my personal favourite to replace Coutinho (never going to happen though) .

07 Aug 2017 21:40:27
Thanks ed as always.

07 Aug 2017 21:14:23
Eds. If Liverpool where going to go for Vvd would they have to publicly retract the previous statement they made which they said they where no longer interested or could that be done behind closed doors. Just if they don't retract it surely that irritates Southampton more and makes us look even more ridiculous.

Lukeo123

{Ed002's Note - They would not have to but there may be some issues that would need to be resolved.}
