Looking at the number of Spanish players who ex-Liverpool, I have to say our Liverpool coaching have let these players down big time. Aspas, Luis Alberto, Reina, Suso.

How can you group Reina with the other 3? 3 players who never got a fair chance to prove themselves and one who was a nailed on starter for years, let go (potentially abit early) due to declining performance and a high salary.

Relaxlabrudder makes a good point - they are all EX-players. While they were at Liverpool a lot of fans were criticising them - Luis Alberto and Aspas especially and let's face it they didn't light up the sky when they were given an opportunity. The best we can say about Reina is that he was (and probably still is) a lot better than what we have now. As for Suso - he left because Coutinho came and is only now showing his promise. I would have liked him to stay but I think that he wanted to go. My main point is that they are no longer with Liverpool and as they are not playing for in the Premier League what they are doing is irrelevant. Let's face it the top clubs in England all contain EX-players from other clubs. We have a good one ourselves - Mo Salah.

Reina wasn't even let go KingKenny92. He'd love us all to believe it though.

He was flirting with Barcelona for a year and agitating for a move to the Nou Camp. His dad had been mouthing of to the press about it being his dream move and talking to Barcelona. Barcelona were pretty much nailed on the sign him to replace Victor Valdes.

It got to the summer and Liverpool decided to be pro-active for a change and sign Reina's replacement before his transfer went through. Then, Victor Valdes back tracked on leaving for a season and Reina's move fell through.

The problem was he had made it so clear he didn't want to play for Liverpool, that the club had moved on (and rightly so), and Mignolet had been promised he was first choice. Reina had become disruptive and disrespectful.

Reina was therefore stuck in limbo, until Liverpool sent him off on loan. Whilst on loan, he suddenly started coming out to the press about how Liverpool had pushed him out, how he'd effectively been replaced behind his back, and how he was the victim in the situation.

Long story short, Reina forced his way out and then blamed Liverpool publically. He was no better than Mascherano or Suarez in the way he left. The club never replaced him due to his performances (which were admittedly to a slightly lesser standard than the bar he'd set in his first 5 seasons) or his salary which was easily justified. He was just being a bit of a **** to be honest.

None of these players apart from Reina will make their world cup squad, the manager is testing new players in case of injuries etc.

I don't even think it is people being blinkered Lukeo. The truth just isn't reported. I only know that because i have been reading this site for 8 years.

All the major media outlets just couldn't be bothered to do some actual journalism and find out the truth so they just put 2 and 2 together and got 549.

Spot on MK - the media are lazy and always get it wrong which is why I don't read that nonsense now, thanks to this site.

Spot on, MK. Many esp. in the media, think like them, we all have short memories. WE DON'T. Reina was shamelessly courting Barcelona in the public sphere while trashing LFC at the same time, saying how disappointed he was that we were no longer competing for trophies anymore YET saying that he would be happy to finish his contract with us. Yeah, what complete nonsense trying to have it all 30 diff. ways.

His conduct was disgraceful esp. in a period where he was doing a "Migs" the whole time. The guy destroyed his own credibility and BR was right to boot him out of the club and I'm glad he's no longer here cos he had become a crap GK and embarrassed the club in public, blaming BR for pushing him out on loan to Napoli.

Whereas he was the one along with his father, mouthing off to the media that he wanted to leave us for Barca. Sorry, we should NEVER allow people to airbrush history in a bid to make them selves look good.

{Ed025's Note - i agree loris..
