I know he’s not popular on this site and I’m not trying to make an argument for his long-term future at the club, but it was good to see Lallana looking something like his old self yesterday. He pressed, passed the ball well, got back to fill gaps. His energy could be very useful through this tough spell of games.

Yea thought it waa good to see him out there.

2.) 09 Dec 2018 09:07:00
An on form and fit Lallana has a lot of quality at his feet and we need as many experienced players this season as possible as the pressure wil build towards the end. The likes of Lallana, Milner, Hendo etc will be vital IMO to keep any nerves under control.

3.) 09 Dec 2018 09:33:26
i said it a while back and i hope I'm right but i think if he can find form he's a great trump card for us going into a very busy period. loves the way he actually moved the ball on quickly yesterday and made runs for the return pass.

4.) 09 Dec 2018 09:34:47
Is this the lallana who runs around like a headless chicken and does oh too too many cruff turns when a simple pass will do
for me if he left in january I would be very very happy, give his space to someone who will actually make a difference when they play.

5.) 09 Dec 2018 09:43:51
Lallana did look okay when he came on. The issue with him (for the last 3-4 yrs) is his inability to play one touch football consistently. His Cruyff turns and penchant for stopping the flow to do step-overs and drag-backs does my head in. His lack of pace when in full flow is also a problem when on the counter. To me, he is no longer good enuff for us long term and will prolly leave next season.

6.) 09 Dec 2018 10:25:34
Unfortunately he can’t stay fit long enough to get into the side. For me he should move on and make space for someone else.

7.) 09 Dec 2018 10:35:14
I hope Lallana doesn’t leave in January, and I don’t think he will.
He can definitely bring something positive to the group and we’ll need a large squad to cater for injuries etc.
The best thing about the last couple of games is we’ve had Lallana looking brighter and fitter, but particularly Fabinho and Keita looking the part at last.
If those latter two click, we’re in business here boys and girls.

8.) 09 Dec 2018 10:51:22
He didn't do cruyff turns yesterday! his link up was good yesterday. well atleast way better than recent times.

9.) 09 Dec 2018 11:18:43
When he came on there was gaps. I'm not taking anything away from him but Bmouth are already an attacking side and when they was 2-0 down chasing the game Lallana had the freedom of the pitch.

10.) 09 Dec 2018 11:57:15
As long as he does his talking on the pitch and not in the press he will be a good player to have in and around the squad and on the pitch when called upon.

11.) 09 Dec 2018 13:22:41
Lallana is a god option when he is in form, he is fit and keep the play simple. but for me he is not fit atleast 50% of the games and player like him who are such a high salary and not available for half a season is not good enough for me. Its the same question I asked a few days back about Sturridge (high salary and not fit enough/ good enough for the whole season) Players like Lallana should be replaced by youngster like Curtis Jones where as Sturridege by Rian Brewster atleast after giving these kids a chance we will know if they are good enough for the squad or not.
just my opinion.

12.) 09 Dec 2018 14:48:25
Ha ha, I knew it. I knew people would be praising Lallana at some point this season. He has always been a classy player. 18 months of injury doesn't change that.

13.) 09 Dec 2018 15:10:30
No doubt Lallana had a good game yesterday. But these good games are few and far between the injuries and the poor form. I think it's too risky keeping him on. Need a squad of 25 where every single player can make a solid contribution every time he is called upon. This is ManC's strength or any champion's, for that matter. We have to think in the same way.

14.) 09 Dec 2018 18:59:19
I did point out in my original post that I didn’t want to raise his long term future with the club.

I don’t see any point in discarding of him in January unless we have an idea of who can step in to fill the space in the squad till the Ox is fit. We need one of them to allow Klopp to rotate the midfield and front 3 effectively throughout the rest of the season if we are going to sustain a title challenge and have a run in either/ both the champions league and FA cup.

Hi Ed’s and Reds. I’m confused, the media (and social media) made be believe that as soon as our window shut European clubs would buy every single one of our players and we would be left with no premier league. I’m confused cause as yet we’ve not sold all our players (including under 12s) . Can someone clear this up for me please?

My current working theory is that because we don’t want to sell the players, we haven’t? But the media suggested this wouldn’t matter so I’m probably wrong.

I really hope you are ok. Good luck and all the best.

2.) 11 Aug 2018 07:20:37
Too much for this time of the morning that.

3.) 11 Aug 2018 07:30:58
Think best if got your head down kingkenny.

4.) 11 Aug 2018 08:23:16
I get the sarcasm. It’s almost good. But we are only 2 days past the deadline, god forbid a bid for Salah comes in, in a week or two 😂.

5.) 11 Aug 2018 10:09:04
Sadly many haven’t got it Benny. Never mind.

6.) 11 Aug 2018 10:49:05
The problem is it's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic as so many simply believe every bit of trash they see on social media and in the papers. Then come on here to have it validated.

7.) 11 Aug 2018 14:14:56
In future I’ll be more specific.

Any one else got Allez Allez Allez stick in their head? From the moment I woke up I’ve been whistling/ humming/ full on singing it. I’m not sure I can wait till the 26th, it’s just too long to wait.

I tend to go with the YNWA. Annoys the hell out of the missus when I'm doing it getting ready at 4am.

Yes Danny! Not been as happy for a player to score all season.

1.) 21 Apr 2018 12:37:03
Aye. Properly made up for him.

2.) 21 Apr 2018 12:49:13
Me too, unfortunatly I can't watch the match now. Following it on my app, the moment I saw Ings on the scoresheet my smile went up!

3.) 21 Apr 2018 15:22:21
Almost shed a tear for him seeing his celebration and the relief and joy in his eyes and it was great that the players (nearly all the outfield ones), were ecstatic as well. Nice stuff.

4.) 21 Apr 2018 18:34:18
Nice finish too.

Hi Ed001, following on from the Yan Dhanda thread: do you have any insight on why we seem to see less teenagers making the step into the first teams nowerdays?

Back in the 90s both us and united for example had lots make breakthroughs and go on to be great players (fowler, McMannaman, Gerrard, Carra, Judas) . Yet in recent times barely any teenagers make the step up, I can only think of Sterling and Rashford who have become 1st team regulars whilst teenagers.
Is this down to the academies, an increase in foreign players, the pressures of success stopping coaches giving players chances?
Your opinion/ knowledge would be great on this subject.

KingKenny92

{Ed001's Note - it is pressure on the coaches. They are loathe to take a risk on a youngster unless they are forced into it. Managers don't often get given the time to develop players so they wantready made ones.}

1.) 03 Apr 2018 19:42:01
I completely agree with Ed001, but I also think people believe that youngsters have to be good before 21 or else they are too old! Every players develops at their own speed.

Kids need to relax, enjoy their football, and work hard on what they want from the game!

Sorry Naby, you must have misread. Players don’t sign to be rotation players, that’s why no one has more than 11 players.

Who else could TAA be?
Who else could The Ox be?
They are the most common abbreviations of those twos names and don’t leave much room for confusion.

I very much doubt he would agree to that Run. Why agree to be on less wages and not play as much here when he could have less wages but be a major part of a Leeds/ lower premier league side for his final seasons?

Where do you spend £100 million? Back up GK, RB and LB, Milner replacement (if he leaves, not that I want him to), back up to the front 3.
There’s plenty of depth that needs adding and £100million would be helpful given our large spend last summer.
My initial response was tongue in cheek - just thought it point that out.

The stadium probably has disabled access, if he’s on crutches or whatever. He’ll probably be able to afford a corporate box as well.

I’d say we need 4 players:
A Migs replacement
A versatile full back to back-up and challenge Trent and Robbo
A proper CB to challenge Gomez with one of Matip or Lovren leaving and the other staying as back up.
A versatile forward to challenge/ rotate with the front 3 who are all themselves versatile.

Replacements for Migs and Moreno Hessle, neither will want to waste another year of their careers on our bench.

You couldn’t be more wrong 007, the whole first referendum was an insult to those people’s loss. MPs (and Nigel) lying to get the vote they wanted. It was a con.
