There's no point in regrets, I know but I think we'll have a massive 1 for not buying chilwell. Also Robbie Savage talks some rubbish on bt

29 Dec 2016 15:40:27
On physio room it's saying that matips expected return date has been put back until January 8th and it says there's even "a slight doubt" about that. Coutinho has been moved out to the same expected return date and there is still a "major doubt" about this date. I knew coutunho wouldn't be match fit even if he did return for the city game but I'd assumed we'd have matip back. Does anyone know if these return dates are correct.

1.) 29 Dec 2016 16:44:01
I expect both to feature after the break ie against UTD.

2.) 29 Dec 2016 16:44:04
return dates are estimates mate i would think. its hard to get exact dates.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 17:02:49
At least we are not rushing them back.

4.) 29 Dec 2016 17:40:22
I`d rather we not rush them back so they will be fit and fresh for the Utd game so Matip can shut down Ibra and Couts can embarrass DDG again with that audacious chip.

5.) 29 Dec 2016 21:55:30
I understand that both Matip and Couts will be out until at least the middle of January. So they will miss some very tough matches when we need them most.

This coupled with Mane being in Africa will provide a testing time for our squad. Having the spine of your best team out is a big miss.

6.) 30 Dec 2016 17:43:44
We have already been without matip and couts for a while now so there won't be much adjustment there. Mane will be a miss but i expect sturridge to come in and hopefully ojo who are not chopped liver. So i think we will be fine. Players will come back and what do you do with those players you brought in for 30m pound who will be immediately displaced by returning players ala mane. And what do you do with the untapped potential youth players who have yet one more person blocking them from having the chances to realise their potential.

I understand peoples need for that new player fix i have had that fixation for a number years in my youth. I now realise in my old age that we need to plan and think longer term. So i don't think we need to spend to cover 4 games and upset the chemistry of the squad atm.

7.) 31 Dec 2016 03:03:36
Wtt u on about it's a coming.

8.) 31 Dec 2016 07:19:09
Wtf even.

19 Dec 2016 13:51:37
Ed 01. What's the name of the site to keep up to date with the progress of players injuries and how long they're expected to be out for? Does anyone know if matip is expected to be available for tonight?

{Ed001's Note -}

1.) 19 Dec 2016 17:41:54
Thanks lad.

{Ed001's Note - welcome la.}

17 Dec 2016 13:17:06
They're by no means a 1 man team but without costa (and his goals specifically) Chelsea would be fooked.

1.) 17 Dec 2016 13:57:03
IM sick of them winning 1-0, you should get extra points for attacking play scoring goals. No one is testing Chelsea no one.

2.) 17 Dec 2016 14:10:34
Lol. How does that matter? Without him, without her. Nonsense.

3.) 17 Dec 2016 14:19:18
It obviously matters sweet chin, if you loose your top goal scorer it matters.

4.) 17 Dec 2016 14:49:21

You mean they ll stop playing football? They ll find another way to score that all important goals. They don't concede and that's a massive plus.

5.) 17 Dec 2016 15:18:03
What other way are they finding at the moment?

6.) 17 Dec 2016 15:31:45
Well Harry, we shall see in their next game if they are a one man team because Costa is suspended and won`t play. They were already below par in the last 3-4 games with him playing so we shall see what happens if others can pick up the slack.

7.) 17 Dec 2016 15:32:16

Conte is an experienced manager who has won trophies and managed some of the elite players. He would certainly have a plan B, Moreover they could add someone in January window.

If he could successfully deploy a 3-4-3 out of nowhere he would also add goals.

{Ed001's Note - it is hardly out of nowhere, he spent the summer acquiring players to play that system. The surprise was he waited so long to change over to it.}

8.) 17 Dec 2016 16:07:38
Conte never had that third defender to play that 3-4-3 and they bought Luiz very late in the window. I guess Zouma and Terry were injured.

{Ed001's Note - he had Ivanovic.}

9.) 17 Dec 2016 16:16:41
Ivanovic unfortunately has been terrible from an year.

{Ed001's Note - at right back because he is a centre back.}

10.) 17 Dec 2016 16:43:10
Iva is old and lacks severe pace. He gets beaten by everyone. He was never good playing at CB in my eyes.

{Ed001's Note - he certainly doesn't lack pace, and I am not a fan of him at centre back, but it is his chosen position.}

13 Dec 2016 21:48:50
Does his sending off mean jagielka is out for Monday night.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 13 Dec 2016 22:30:12
The way they played the 2nd half was really good.

If the 2nd half team turns up we might find it very difficult even otherwise it is going to be a difficult game with us drawing Southampton and West Ham and loosing to Bournemouth.

2.) 14 Dec 2016 00:12:59
They will be full of confidence after that win and go at us, then we will destroy them, they have just done us a favour in the title race and will do us another one next week ;)

3.) 14 Dec 2016 00:55:36
Everton played the game of their lives and credit to them for a more than a spirited effort vs an Arsenal team that showed a very disgusting attitude towards the opposition and seemed uninterested. They were on a bad run and looked ripe for a hiding BUT they hung in there, fought hard, rode their luck a bit, but deserved the victory. Everton will b a handful next week.

4.) 14 Dec 2016 07:44:21
Everton lacks quality but they usually make it up by hard work relentless chasing and running. They were anonymous for the first 20 mts. Arsenal threw it away. Chelsea hammered them for 5 not so long ago. But derby is a different proposition. We need to win these games convincingly for making a statement.
Liverpool simply cannot lose to Everton at home. It's as simple as that!

Lads, everyone here is great in hindsight. It's easy to say that texiera is worth the money, but like Big Ben and super Mario, he could turn out to be a waste of money. How are the people who are championing him so sure he is so good. YouTube would be my guess and they really show a balanced picture and not just the players outstanding moments. I remember some, but not as many as there are now, saying benteke was wrong for us while some (I can't remember the names) thought he was an excellent option for a plan b for us. I wonder if any of these same people are proclaiming texiera to be all the answers to all of our prayers. I can't give an educated opinion on him as all I know about him is from the same famous YouTube. I know that just because he is Brazilian and has a brilliant conversion rate in a league not up to the BPL standard does not mean he is worth breaking the bank and FFP rules over. I'm not saying that I wouldn't like him to join but unlike Suarez, messi etc. but I can't just say "pay the asking price as he's defenitely worth it" Anyhow it's easy to ramble off all these figures-£38M etc. when it's not our own money. I have to have a think before I spend €100 never mind £38M. Hindsight is 20/ 20 vision.

Hi all. Maybe I'm being influenced by annoyance with sterlings/his agents actions but I, along with a lot ot you, can't stand the sight of him any more. I'm probably wrong as I know he's only a kid and has truck loads of potential but I'd get rid of him ASAP for as much as I could get for him. Maybe whenever he does eventually leave he'll realise that the grass isn't always greener in far away fields, what will his great friend & wannabe super agent do then??? I don't think he'd put his head down & work like Suarez did anyway if he doesn't get his own way & the club forces him to stay. Admittedly with loads of potential but very little end product & he THINKS he's a top player. Listen to everyone & not just agent Aidy who is just looking after himself in the short term. Rant over. And by the way lads give gerrard the send off he deserves & at least try half as hard as he does

We didn't just loose supermane96 we got torn new ones. I'm not even mad, I'm just numb. If I'm honest I half expected to loose last night as a team always gets a lift in the game or two after a manager goes and once again it's no surprise to loose to a team we should (according to ourselves) be beating, the same way as I expect us to play well against and probably beat arsenal on Saturday.

100% agree with you Benny. For everything good sakho would do he'd then have a brain fart and do something stupid. I know ed 01 and others have better reading of players than me but I could never see how people thought he was so brilliant. Good yes but brilliant no. Every time he had the ball at the back and was passing out I'd be nervous as hell even though most people said he was the best passing defender we had, but you know what they say- opinions are like arses, everyone has one and this is mine.

Samikewell! What game were you watching. Kante was pure class. He was everywhere and is strong as an on ox the ball. He was always in the right place at the right time. He's probably going to have his 2nd premier league winners medal in 2 years and imo he will have been a major reason why both of the teams that he was part of ended up winning. Costa is scoring the goals but it is him that is holding everything together and he is a lot of the reason why Chelsea are so good at holding onto leads when they go 1 up
