Yes we lost, yes karius made 2mistakes, but im proud of our team and the journey they took us on this season, the turning point was salah going off injured, didn't think i would say this but we did miss the ox badly in midfield, if we get the players in nxt season just think how far we can go then,3players stood out 4me was taa, robertson and best player on the pitch mane, we will have our day soon. ynwa.

Thought i've seen it all with bad refs, but to send a keeper of, for coming of his line in a penalty shoot out is stupid common sense as gone in refs baffles me how they get there license.

Which game are you talking about? You know that coming off the line is a foul committed by the GK right? If he is persistently doing it, then the ref is fully within his rights to issue a card for consistent, deliberate infringement.

2.) 15 May 2018 14:23:44
It was a under 23 game and how many keepers stay on there line hardly any do, it was another bad ref decision again.

3.) 15 May 2018 14:55:36
Whether hardly any stay on the line or not is irrelevant. It is against the rules. If the ref sees it and cards it, he is absolutely right to do it.

That would be the same as saying, lots of people dive in the box, so we should not punish it if it is caught.

It is frustrating, I agree, and we had the same in the League Cup final last year against City when Caballero was constantly off his line - I railed against it then because he should have been stopped by the ref.

But to say it was a bad decision is simply wrong.

4.) 15 May 2018 15:34:06
It's not specifically in the book that it's a yellow card offense. What's stupid is that it's not consistently enforced (including in that same shootout where the dutch keeper did it twice and got nothing) . That is the only bad reffing and cruel part of it.

Also, and this is an excellent lesson for the lad and for all players - he got his first yellow card for time wasting in the second half of normal time. He assumed he could afford it and would be fine because keepers are rarely booked for anything except for things fully in their control - time wasting and dissent. But you never know what's going to happen in a game, and voluntarily accepting an unnecessary yellow for no good reason (not stopping someone charging at the goal or anything that's even remotely clever or necessary) is never a good idea. Now he knows. If he has the character to make it as a player, he'll be better for that knowledge.

5.) 15 May 2018 15:38:29
It was bad decision, and it is relevant as there no consistent in the rules then so don't know how u can say tht. all keepers come of there lines but only 1 get punished so its a poor decision again by the ref.

6.) 15 May 2018 16:16:11
Scousetim - it's literally written into the rules since 2016 that any foul action which causes a penalty to be retaken is an automatic yellow card offense.

7.) 15 May 2018 18:26:51
Yes but how many times u seen red card 4 it?

8.) 15 May 2018 19:46:02
Scousetim, he received a 2nd yellow not a red. Yes keepers come off the line all the time but in that penalty he literally ran forward before diving to his right. It was extremely blatant and he can't really complain about being penalised for it.

The keeper is young (it was the u17 Euros) and he will learn from this experience.

9.) 15 May 2018 23:05:01
I might be being stupid here but i’ve never once seen a keeper stay on the line for a penalty.
I can understand if they come out a couple yards then yes penalise it but if a keeper is supposed to stay bang on the line how is he supposed to make saves into the corners without smashing into the woodwork himself? XD.

10.) 16 May 2018 09:39:39
OGRed_Phil - he's not. That's basically the point of a penalty - if it's done perfectly it cannot be saved with anything but the most ridiculous luck. However, the closer you get to a perfect one (i. e. right in the corner), the closer you are to hitting the posts or putting it wide with a small mistake.

Scousetim

{Ed001's Note - lots of time left yet and Klopp is very singleminded when after players he really wants.}

They do ths every season buy a new squad.

Scousetim

{Ed0333's Note - I think the OP’s point Tim that this year west ham are doing a better job at recruitment. Pellegrini is no mug. I have love for the guy I hope he does well although west ham were a curious choice for Manuel. But I suppose if you dangle a carrot big enough....

Yea ed1 and there was a lot of abuse last night that i had to stop coming on here as it was making me angry, and didn't want to post something i regret,

Scousetim

{Ed001's Note - it is sickening to edit too. I fully understand why you get angry. I just end up not replying to anything some days to avoid saying the wrong thing. No point getting angry or the idiots have won anyway.}

I noticed a lot who come on here with there hate, only post when they want to jump on sum1 back, they coudnt wait 4 karius to make a mistake, and then turned on ed2 for no reason, i will never slate a liverpool player for a mistake, i will support and get behind every player, end of the day its up2 klopp who he picks and want.

Scousetim

{Ed001's Note - the problem is some people do not understand the difference between criticism and abuse.}
