Just to get away from the Arne ten slot bashing for a min, Aston Villa's ban of maccabi fans can't be allowed to go unpunished? What happens when spurs go there are they going to get banned too? ( think spurs have large Jewish fanbase) to the point now where maccabi don't want the tickets .
Play the game behind closed doors and a villa fans from every away game in Europe.
{Ed078's Note - surely it's a police decision and not the decision of the club?

What I see is a desperation for outcome
And not enough attention to performance
This applies to the coaching staff as well as some of the knee jerkers amongst the fan base.
It’s leading us (Slot) to making adjustments that appear crazy in pursuit of a result.
Attacking fullbacks where one doesn’t play and the other is playing more as a LCB and inverting narrow inside the winger
We end up with a midfield pivot of Jones and Wirtz. We've had another midfield combo of Endo and Jones. Who had those midfield combo on their bingo
card?
It is a results based business after-all but I would rather we took the long road to get to where we want to be even if it means we don’t win anything this season.
In saying that, the thing that really worries me is the coaching team getting in their own way and therefore impacting on the development curve of the team.
Whilst we created chances, that second half felt more like a team of individuals trying to create some magic as opposed to a machine rolling forward together.
What I would like to see is more calm from the boss and the players.
They're chasing small and short term wins and all that will continue happen is that we get even further stuck in the mud.

Slot’s job is not under any threat.
Yes, there’s been a bit of tension in the dressing room lately, but that’s normal when results dip. Media are already trying to spin it into some player-vs-manager drama, but it’s being blown way out of proportion.
The squad’s going through a big transition period and still feeling the loss of a close teammate and friend. Counsellors have been involved and the club’s handling things properly behind the scenes.
No panic needed — the belief in Slot remains strong. Let’s just back the lads; they’re more than capable of getting things back on track.

Great post that Ned and a bit of perspective and common sense amongst the chaos.

The media are looking for the next big story after Ang and Potter there’s no doubt about it. Given the constant media analysis of every detail it’s often the case that between them they do identify the weaknesses and errors of any manager or player, even if individually some of the pundits go over the top and sensationalise things too much. Amorim was close to the edge a few weeks ago, Arne could be in that place in a few weeks himself unfortunately.
Difference for Arne is that he has last seasons success which buys him time. Main problem he’s got is that even some of the fans are starting to doubt his judgement, and he either doesn’t know his best team or is reluctant to pick it. We’ve also gone from a defined pattern of play, to no obvious pattern which also reflects badly on him and his staff. The fall off has been pretty obvious, but equally a few wins will easily get it back on track but he needs them now before the noise gets any louder.

Hi Edwards and John Henry, you want to build a Galatico team, spend like Real Madrid, you need a galactico manager like Ancelotti
If you want to build a team, where you groom good players to great players, with more margin from failure and longer timeliness to reach success, yes Slot from Eredivisie is good enough.
I rests my case.

If I ever get put on trial I hope you are the opposing lawyer.

TB2, we are on same Liverpool team. Let's hold hands and go through this difficult time together.

I'm in agreement with fans who say change is needed
Why? Because it's clear slot doesn't see any problems at all. so fellas what's it going to take for him to realise? . 12 points behind Arsenal? . 18th place in the champions league by late December.

That won’t happen redrebel I will guarantee you that.
To change a manager because of a 4 game poor run is absolutely ridiculous. If that’s a club you want to support you should go and support Forest, Watford or Chelsea. It’s beyond idiotic and a one way ticket to obscurity.

What did we think of Oliver's performance?
First a head injury - even if it's a clash with own player the game is stopped right away. Oliver played on! Why?
Foul on Grav he gives foul to man utd. Oliver had two assistant refs and 4th official and they got that wrong gave the foul to Casemiro!
Gapko crosses ball in hit utd player on his hand no penalty var cleared it:
The players hand was not by his side it was out in front of him and he was far enough away to get it out the way. Seen so many given for exactly this Oliver no penalty?
I am not saying we would of won the game but these were poor decisions by Mick Oliver - Once again against us.

Terrible, but did we expect any different?
We should've won even with him in the middle anyway.

You can add Szob free kick that Dorgu stuck his leg out to block from 4 yards away. Should’ve been taken again and a yellow card for Dorgu. Instead he gives us a throw in. No card for Dorgu.
Mbeumo kicking out at Gakpo, nowhere near the ball. No card. Then he injured Grav with a cynical trip again nowhere near the ball. No foul or card.
I think the penalty incident was 50/ 50 but could’ve been given. With Oliver and England as officials I didn’t even claim for it as I knew they were never giving us that.
The Macca head injury they are saying he didn’t see it. He looked straight at Macca from about 7 yards away as soon as it happened. You can clearly see it.
We should’ve won anyway I agree but had all of those decisions gone our way which they could’ve and with the exception of the penalty absolutely should’ve then we win the game comfortably. that's how much a ref can influence a result.
{Ed025's Note - i think you had the chances to win it as well Robbo and for me you were the better side actually...but dont give us all this "woe is me" malarkey by highlighting every decision that did not go your way, we all get bad decisions against us at times thats just football..
20 Oct 2025 20:08:21
At Leicester away last season when Trent scored a Leicester player was down with a head injury but the referee allowed play to continue and not one Liverpool supporter was saying play should have been stopped. This constant whining about referees is embarrassing, these are minor decisions you are talking about that have no impact on the overall result.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Thunderbird..
20 Oct 2025 20:27:26
I wasn’t saying ‘woe is me’ Ed far from it but the OP started a discussion about the ref and his poor decisions so I highlighted some which ultimately did have an impact on the result.
I’m not saying we lost because of them, we lost because we didn’t take our chances but these poor decisions did happen and it was a thread about Oliver’s performance.
Once again you misread something put your brain to work and come up with the wrong conclusion.
{Ed025's Note - it sounded like sour grapes to me, listen you got beat..it happens, just deal with it..
20 Oct 2025 20:49:45
I do deal with it Ed. Better than most on here who want people sacked, dropped, replaced it’s completely ridiculous.
I’ve said time and time again if you can’t take losing football matches choose another sport because losses are inevitable.
I’m probably the last person on this site you should tell to ‘just deal with it’.
{Ed025's Note - i think you all need a reality check Robbo, ok you are not playing great at the moment but the response has been over the top imo, still reigning champions and 3rd in the table after only 8 games...your sense of entitlement does stagger me at times, a few narrow defeats and its sack the manager and sell all the players who are not in form or up to speed yet...really!!, very much all the other teams would bite your arm off to be in your position and have the players you have, best supporters in the world?...my arse..
20 Oct 2025 23:10:08
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying Ed. How can we go from ‘it’s great to be a Liverpool fan right now’ 3 weeks ago to ‘sack the manager a change is needed’?
It’s absolutely ridiculous. Football teams lose football matches. It’s all part of the game. They are human beings not robots and they make mistakes. Nobody in the world is at the top of their game every day. In any walk of life.
I get that it’s frustrating, I’m frustrated too! Nobody likes losing but the reaction to it is mind boggling. The forensic criticism of the players, the manager, the system is just madness in my opinion.
We have one of the best teams in Europe who are struggling for balance right now but stick with it and I’ve no doubt it will come good. These players and manager are too good for this to go on too long. We all just need to chill.
20 Oct 2025 23:37:31
Robbo, you are ignoring the fact that performances have been poor for most of the season. It's not like we were playing fantastic football prior to the last 4 games. Even when we were winning our first 7 games of the season people were saying it's great winning but performances need to improve, instead they are getting worse.
I'm not saying Slot needs to go but he needs to fix this and quickly because right now he looks lost and seems to be making odd decisions and only the most bias of supporters can't see this.
