If the case against city goes in their favour the question i would like to put forward is what will all the rest of the teams do?

Will they just get on with it?

Boycott city by refusing to play against them?

Take a load of money off premier league to carry on as normal?

City owners compansate the rest of premier teams?

Or will they just suck it up and except decision?

I would assume it’s a open cheque book for Newcastle utd if Man City win
Surely they would use what they could to give them a financial advantage.

At some point, the brand damage will become more important than the financials. I have no idea at what point that will be but it's clear that this carry on is not good for PL, the football pyramid or City (and their allies) .

I can’t speak for how the football talking heads cover city on the UK side of the Atlantic but over here they barely mention it. It’s just how great they are blah blah. Unless the football media starts putting an * on commentary about the 115 charges it’ll have no impact.

If I was Newcastle United I would break FFP rules or whatever they are called nowadays take the points deduction but at least you have the squad the year after to be in that top 4.

BergenRed, the Times are definitely going for it. Matthew Syed's piece today was scathing.

If it does happen then I can see another breakaway occurring between the clubs who voted for it and the few supporting City. Hope Everton like getting battered every week and finishing last in that one.

It will be like Lagiga for the past decades where City and Newcastle dominate and the rest just you know, grin and bear it.

I think if will be worse than La Liga Oli, La Liga does have rules that everyone has to follow, as Barcelona have found out. What City want is unfettered Libertarianist capitalism where they’re free to do what they like without challenge, regulation or consequences. This hot air that their chief executive says about sensible regulation is just what it is. Meaningless guff. They want freedom to pay themselves from their sovereign wealth fund to the point that only Newcastle can compete. I’ve seen Everton supporters complain about the red cartel and the so called glass ceiling (Ed025 NOT INCLUDED BTW! ), well we would have an Arab duopoly with a cast iron ceiling that no one would ever be able to compete with. It would drive away sponsors for other teams, it would kill any television deal, it would result in crowds not attending games as what’s the point if you can’t win. It would be the absolute end. I genuinely think if they win their case then the 15 clubs who are in favour of the arrangements should look to split away in the same way the premier league broke away in 1992 and exclude those teams who have supported City in their action.

I do agree with Viktor. Perhaps not to the extent of the doomsday scenario that he is predicting. If the rules are changed in response to the ManCity challenge then the flood gates would open for sure. And it doesn't necessarily have to be just the Arabs. Anyone with enough money can come in and just buy the League title, because that's what it would amount to.

Football in the EPL, as we know it, would change for ever.

VV, I would NOT mind that at all.
