In all honesty what would fans like to see come from this? We can't change the result so what outcome would suffice?
For me I see us having the best league in the world the majority of the best players and the best managers and probably 2 to 3 decent refs at a push. We ( our clubs) are not allowed to criticise them are they so arrogant that they think they are above criticism or the law?
What I would like to see come about is
the introduction of the automated var system. The pgmol relinquishing control and not being allowed to police themselves. Have Howard Webb or whoever is top person answer to a independent body who will dish out any punishments. Strict guidelines and punishments for officials no more two game bans, and sat on the naughty step. If managers can lose there jobs for poor performances why can't refs?

Peraonally, I think we have whinned enough on the matter. The world can see we were robbed broad day light but its becoming embarrassing now guys. We are not the first to be done by poor officiating from the upwards of last season as sample period. The whinning have overshadowed how excellent we were on the night and how much we should be proud of our lads.

In my opinion, I think the club and fans are taking this a little too far. The incompetence is staggering and borders corruption. I'm a Nigerian and over here, the ref would be beaten to hospital admission level. Something that disgusts me a lot esp Kano Pillars as in, the ref won't go home! But I expected things done better in a league like england and I cannot say I'm not disappointed and I'm sure I'm not alone. However, its time to suck it up and move on. We need to show the world just how strong we are against BHA and I'm sure that's Klopp attention right now.

I have seen a lot of post on social media and this site of "agendas against LIV" this for me is far from true in my opinion, not that it disappoints less but nohig is coming out of these frustration ? and this is not me judging those who can't get past it but encouraging that we do for the boys. Its clear they aren't happy as per Maccas post that the FA is insensitive enough to consider a query into. We need to show them support that they did well and we trust them for the rest of the season to bring us joy. We just got to suck it up and move on as nothing will change. The media is already turning on us as are rival fans. Let's move on lads and hopefully they will learn a thing or two from the stir our stolen show have caused.

{Ed001's Note - it is this kind of thinking which allows things to just go unchecked. Sorry but it is not whining to expect changes to be made and action taken. We fight for what is right in Liverpool and the club represents us. If you can't get behind that, then you really do not understand the club you support.}

Actually I think it is possible that the game could be replayed.

I would just like more accountability from the PGMOL. If they make mistakes, we need them to face real consequences and repercussions. None them just apologising and moving on.

Ed001 for me it has to go like Ruby so much better.
The whole match was a disgrace and for me the Pgmol is not fit for purpose and they should never investigate their selfs. That’s like a criminal getting charged with an offence and them investigating them selfs and just saying we did nothing wrong.
This season has been a joke so far the way you get booked for arguing with the refs is ridiculous it’s just like saying the could never be wrong all because of what happened with mitrovic jet I thought the incident with the official and Robertson was worse and that just got brushed under the carpet.

I’m personally delighted the club is taking a stand and fighting this rather than just accepting another PR apology from the PGMOL. It is the only way anything will change, and I think a lot of fans, and not just Liverpool ones, agree with this. There will be plenty, due to tribalism, who try and criticize us, but I don’t care. It needs addressing: the awful levels of officiating, the lack of transparency, the conflicts if interest officials are operating under, I hope the club push this all the way.

Well said Ed 01. I think a lot of people are viewing this as just whining and missing the forest for the trees. If the club can get the audio released or just some accountability that sets a precedent which will also benefit other clubs in the future. The game will be destroyed by incompetent officiating if clubs don't stand up against it.

Lfc have been spot on with what they've said. basciallly release the audio to make suree its a mistake not anything else.

Yes, such as Jonathan Walters whining about Liverpool fans moaning, saying you should try being an Evertonian.
Of course he doesn't add that their problems are entirely self-inflicted and hundreds of millions of pounds have been wasted in the process.
Talk about a point turning in on itself ?.

9.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 08:00:03
Honestly what's baffling me is everyone saying oh we had those against us. so shut up. no ones actually interested in solving the problem.

{Ed001's Note - surely they should be just as interested in fixing the issue then? People get trampled on and just let it happen again and again. Then when someone stands up and says I don't want to get trampled on, they all turn on that person. People are their own worst enemies.}

I would like to hear the audio tapes to understand what really went on and how the mistake wasn’t rectified before the goal kick was taken. Surely the VAR team had the time to recognise a miscommunication had happened and correct it?

I would also like to see a law change that allows major mistakes to be pulled back if it happens again (within a reasonable limit eg. 20 seconds) . Referees can pull back play to correct mistakes in other situations, so why not a major one like a miscommunication leading to a goal not being awarded?

I would also like to see implementation of a better protocol for communication ie. a clear onsides/ offsides language or ‘goal stands’ rather than ‘check complete’ as that remarkably seems to have been the issue, so why not fix it.

Finally I would like to see the VAR use case overhauled. This ‘clear and obvious error is just nonsense in subjective calls like the tackles, and just puts one refs decision over another. Figure out a way to use the technology to support the infield ref to make better decisions rather than undermine them.

That’s a good place to start and a fair set of requests for the clubs to raise to PGMOL.

I get the whole ‘this stuff happens to everyone’ angle, but there’s been enough bad decisions and controversy in the season so far to say PGMOL is not doing its job well, and so demanding a review and change after such a major incident is an important part of forcing change to happen, and ensuring better outcomes going forward. Unfortunately PGMOL doesn’t seem capable of doing it without being forced.

11.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 08:09:04
I’ve never seen anyone have anything like a decision like that go against them. The officials knowingly allowed a legitimate goal to be chalked off and said nothing as the game carried on for another 65 minutes!

There were loads more very suspicious actions by the officials too but that one on its own is surely unforgivable and is the worst and most blatant example of officials impacting a result as I’ve ever seen.

We should absolutely take this as far as we can, sorry just isn’t good enough.

12.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 08:47:18
I would like the goal reinstated. I understand that will never happen but in this sort of circumstance its the only fair outcome. 2-2.

13.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 08:48:31
Ed001, what changes do you want to see and what action taken?

Personally, I'd like to see VAR scrapped and less of the overanalysis of decisions. Stop drawing lines for offsides. If a ref thinks it's handball, it's handball.
There will always be subjective calls even with all this technology so let's just get on with it.
Oh, and improve the standard of referees.

{Ed001's Note - VAR isn't the issue, it is the referees that are the problem. VAR needs to be kept separate from them and they should have nothing to do with it. All communication should be relayed to broadcasters and the PA system within the stadium, if you have nothing to hide, then why hide it? Let VAR be run by specialists who are trained purely as operators and their only job is to ask a ref to look again at an incident or to decide whether someone is offside or not. And they should say clearly whether it is offside or not, rather than check complete bollox that is open to interpretation.}

If the PGMOL don’t release the audio, they have something to hide.

Ed01, at the end of the day, this type of rubbish will affect all teams and Ugbe's comment is proof that things will never change with this type of attitude that is now rampant within today's PL fan base. The system is unsustainable as it is and instead of fans of clubs coming together to form a full front and say, "We're not going to take it anymore", we have the likes of Ugbe telling us to essentially "shut up and play".

Look at the game on Sat, nobody is talking about Spurs winning the game on their own merits. We are all talking about the officiating and all that. Spurs can't celebrate their win cos NOBODY cares due to the injustices done to LFC. This is how the system hurts both teams and will hurt all teams in the end.

Good thing the likes of Martin Luther King Jnr. did not listen to those telling him to "shut up and preach" at the time cos many of us would NEVER have gotten anywhere. Pathetic.

{Ed001's Note - dictators can only rule when no one challenges them.}

16.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 10:57:12
Spurs can and did celebrate, Oli. I don't blame them.
Other fans don't care about the weekend like we do because it doesn't affect them. It will when it does and we won't care as much.

17.) 03 Oct 2023
03 Oct 2023 11:32:37
Rigsby, I was making a bigger point that with this type of attitude to incompetent officiating, we will all be hurt by it cos nobody is giving Spurs any credit for the win. We are all talking about VAR, which is how both teams gets hurt by the current system and a bigger reason to stand together cos trust me, Spurs will get done and nobody will feel sorry for some of their loud mouth fans telling us to "Cry more".

I'm just so baffled and perplexed why they cannot see the simple fix that is right in front of their faces. Literally every sport has a better review process that the Premier League. Take how Cricket and Rugby operate and rinse and repeat. It isn't rocket science!
