What's the deal with Allan? The official Liverpool FC twitter feed says we've secured his services for the future and he's spending time with us with permission of his club. Will he go back to his club and sign for us at a later date? Thanks.

Eds, come on here everyday to check on transfer rumours! (Thanks for all the effort by the way) . I don't know why I do it to myself, probably hoping one of you give us some good news we can all get excited about but invariably leave disappointed. Tell us all something interesting we don't already know. anything even if it's not about incoming transfers, please. I'm fed up of VVD and Keita rumours.

{Ed001's Note - something interesting? Ok, if all the blood vessels in your body were laid end to end they would stretch about 60,000 miles. As I am generous, here is something else, coughs move faster than the speed of sound. Hope that helps Timo.}

The designer of the US flag was 17 at the time and he did it for a school project. He got a B-.

An American Institute has identified that the speed of sound can be faster than the speed of light.

Another American institute has identified that there us no correlation between the amount of research you carry out having a positive effect on voting.

The speed of light has been set at a constant by mathmeticians to make their lives easier in formulating equations. In reality its variable and they have gotten different values for it over the years.

84.6% of statistics are made up on the spot (often by handsome Australians)

studies have shown that 46.3% of facts found online are indeed faked.

I really enjoyed the podcast and thought it was very well done especially as it was your 1st one (well 2nd apparently!. Ha ha), I'm sure they'll get better and better the more you do as well. I did laugh though when you were talking about how much time Fergie spent watching youth players and thought how much Utd could have done with Pique and Pogba over the last few seasons. I suppose it just goes to prove the point that you'll never know how good a player could or will be until they get a good run of games at the top level!! That's why I'd rather see young players going out on loan to championship or other premier league clubs rather than play in the reserves, but I guess unless the club is monitoring their progress they're not making the most of the situation, which is disappointing.

{Ed001's Note - well Pique wanted to go back to Barca so it didn't matter how good he was. As for Pogba, he refused to go with the agent of Fergie's choosing and that was always the death knell for youth players at United.}

1.) 16 Aug 2015 15:21:29
I'm sure there was more to it than pure ability but it just reinforces the point that yourself and many other posters have made that unless players are given the opportunity or we have people in the club to spot the ability how many top draw players could we allow to slip through the net! Ilori being the perfect example of someone who could be excellent but unless he's given the chance we'll never really know, that is until he moves on proves himself and we regret never giving him the the opportunity.

Timo, many on here will reply by sayin, "if BR isn't playing them, then they must be crap" or "if they are good enuff, they will make it elsewhere" or "there is just no room for them so they should just be loaned OT" or some other useless and pathetic excuse to explain why BR won't give them chances

If I were Southampton I'd put all that's gone to one side for now and screw us on the transfer price and also be trying to get Sakho off us for a cut price deal.

I like the look of Grujic going forward but he doesn't seem very good when the opposition have to ball. I might be doing the lad a disservice here but that's my observation on the limited times I've seen him. He always seems to be out of position, he seems to lack the desire to get the ball back and the opposition drift past him far too easily which leads to him he making silly tackles when the balls not there to be won. Hopefully I'm wrong and have just noticed something which isn't necessarily a fair reflection of his ability?

It's only one game and a pre season fixture at that so I wouldn't get too carried away. I agree with you he was fantastic last night and I hope he has somehow improved massively since last season? He's had good games before though. If he has somehow improved and Klopp sees enough in him to challenge Robertson for the left back spot it can only be a good thing. With the emergence on TAA and Gomez coming back from injury it can only be positive for our defence going into next season especially with the extra games we'll have playing in Europe.

I guess Barcelona would be more attractive with Neymar there considering they are friends.
