Hi eds,

If the rumours of PSG interest in Sturridge have any truth whatsoever, Liverpool would be foolish not to accept a bid in excess of £30m wouldn't they?

While I'm a big fan of Sturridge who is unplayable on his day, he is unreliable with injuries and I think his attitude is a problem aswell, thinks more about himself than the team in general.

Finally, eds do you know of any interest in sturridge from PSG?

Thanks in advance.

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of PSG making any approach to Liverpool for Sturridge. The only vague interest they seem to have is in Firmino and they spoke to his agent about and not to the club - I have explained that before. PSG has identified a number of strikers they will consider with Ibrahimovich and, probably, Cavani departing. Some would only be of interest if their clubs made them available (e.g. Ronaldo and Neymar) but they are actively working on possible solutions involving a number of others. Unless something has changed, Sturridge is not on that list.}

Hope we don't loose firmino, he looks real quality.

Hi eds

Is there serious interest in Benteke from liverpool, if not which strikers do we hold serious interest in? Thanks in advance

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - Aston Villa's Benteke has performed well enough this season to possibly rekindle interest from Spurs - but I am not aware of any from Manchester United or Liverpool right now, but I guess they could turn to him if others they are considering do not come to fruition.

Right now it is something like this for the players that I understand have been looked at:
Ings - every chance this will go through - but strong interest from elsewhere
Vietto - talking to Atletico Madrid regarding replacing Griezmann and hoping on Real Madrid turning to him
Heung Min Son (I suspect it would be very difficult to make happen as he seems very happy where he is and will be playing in the Champions League)
Carlos Vela (looked at recently but nothing more)
Aubameyang (looked at and there may be interest from Liverpool - he is keen on a move to Italy but the most interested side, Juventus, are now out of the running)
Gameiro (his stock is on the rise but Liverpool have had no recent contact (according to a representative of another interested club))
Baez (an update from last night - Liverpool have been told to say if they are still interested in Baez or not - and if they are to make an offer which is much improved over that offered to Juventud previously as there is growing interest from other clubs and they need to make their mind up)
Kishna (all English interest has gone or never materialised according to De Boer)
Lacazette (another English side met with Lyon about Lacazette and a number of other issues on April 9 and any move this summer, particularly to England, is not viable right now unless an outrageous sum is paid - which won't be by Liverpool)
Firmino (he will most probably move to another English side who have had discussions with his club and put a couple of offers on the table)
Depay (moving elsewhere)
Bakkali (interest will have gone)
Andre Ayew (a free agent who Liverpool enquired about last summer - no obvious interest right now but it may return)
Walcott (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Walcott may be considered)
Cheryshev (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Cheryshev may be considered)

I would not be surprised if Liverpool looked at Higuain if he became available at the right price. Jese may well be available either with a buy back option from Real Madrid or possibly on loan - perhaps he could be considered?}

Thank you for providing this update Ed002.

I'm a little surprised and I guess disappointed that Konoplyanka isn't of interest.

Much appreciated Ed

{Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg, Napoli, Roma, Sevilla, West Ham, Spurs, Shakhtar and Bayer Leverkusen have shown recent interest in Konoplyanka who is able to sign a pre-contract with any non Ukrainian side. Sevilla, Spurs, Napoli and Roma have put the most effort in to trying to put a deal in place for the summer and his representatives have rejected an offer from West Ham, telling them his preferred destination is Arsenal. If Liverpool are going to look to the player again (and I don't know that they are), then it would be perhaps to replace Sterling. Dnipro have offered him a new contract.

Macca has said there is still interest. I understand the player would be interested if approached - but his agent has said there have been approaches from two English clubs at this time - West Ham and Spurs. Clubs have been able to approach him since January.}

Thanks for the reply ed

3.) 20 May 2015 10:44:16
Experienced first-choice players are what's required this summer, after many of last summer's risky signings didn't work out, we need a few sure things to boost the squad, especially with Gerrard leaving. So, Konoplyanka or Menez would fit the bill, and Huguain would be my 1st choice striker.

4.) 20 May 2015 11:59:54
Hey first time writer ....

{Ed002's Note - Chico, welcome but you need to ask such questions on the teams and formations page.}

5.) 20 May 2015 12:07:56
Oh sorry didn't realise thanx!

6.) 20 May 2015 13:50:38
All the player speculation, while interesting, would seem to be secondary until a decision has been made regarding manager, I would think. If someone else comes in, they'll have their own ideas and, if an established and strong team-builder may not be interested in some of the players currently on that list. I would place my educated guess on the requirement that theanagee position is settled before any player transfers.

7.) 20 May 2015 14:22:06
eds do you think baez has the attributes to make it in the prem? if so could he make an immediate impact or would it take him a season or 2?

{Ed002's Note - He is just a kid with no relevant experience - he would have no impact in the short-term.}

Ed 002, I have to say, you sound like a bitter rival fan with some of your answers/ comments, I understand you are not a Liverpool fan and I think it's pretty clear you're not a fan of klopp, but in the years I have visited this site, I can not remember one comment in which you have praised or at the very least complimented Liverpool in any way, it is always the negative side of things that you choose to focus on.

Also, while I think some of the fans on here want the world, the total lack of respect toward them from you is ridiculous, you are painting us all with the same brush. I think I read you are a Chelsea fan and if we want to talk about fan behaviour then I think Chelsea fans have a lot more problems than Liverpool fans.

I don't mean any disrespect with this post, just putting across my feelings and I hope this gets posted. Thanks.

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - Trying to make Liverpool's failings about Chelsea is the typical of the embarrassing comments from some jerk like you. Regardless of anything else - who were the most charged club in Europe last season for fan infractions? If you can find someone with half a brain to explain posts you will find that I am not "painting" all of you with the same brush at all. Another moronic remark. I am a better Liverpool supporter than the vast majority on these pages who do nothing other than trash the players, the owners and everyone else - aside from Klipperty (who hasn't won anything for years and has become pretty much a serial loser) and the One Who Squats To Piss (who of course cost Dalglish his job - a man who did so much for the club but quickly discarded by the people here).

I rather think that you might find what I have said to be correct if you read the posts, or perhaps have the nuances of the posts explained to you.}

1.) 30 Aug 2016 23:42:42
I don't agree with Scouse red necessarily, but calling him a f***wit jerk just reinforces his argument Ed. My son used to come on this site, but the way in which people address each other is embarrassing at times.

{Ed002's Note - Ok then I will ban him for you so your son can safely return.}

2.) 30 Aug 2016 23:51:22
I finding the last sentence stating 'not to disrespect' amusing after such a lengthy post with plenty of disrespect throughout.

Keep up the good work 002.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 00:02:13
-------------serial abuser embarrassing himself and the other fans - absolute personification of why the Liverpool fans are indeed the worst in the world ---------

4.) 31 Aug 2016 01:16:50
I agree with eds post to some degree. When he says most of our fans do nothing but bash players and owners. I've stopped going on live chat because all it is, is negativity. I think its only Ron who supports the players as we should.

Supporting should be about supporting throgh good times and bad. If any of theses players are not good enough, that is not their fault. Maybe if we supported them it would spur them on to do better.

We will never know because 90 percent of the fans on this page do nothing but whine like a pregnant women. I think you should all hang your heads in shame.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 03:50:07
Eds aren't here to be fans and tell us what we want to hear. we're lucky to get the insights they provide. If you look at some of the other teams' sites the ed's respond in much the same manner, they haven't singled out abuse to Liverpool for the sake of it.

If you don't like what they say then choose to move on elsewhere. simple.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 00:07:03
Although they might sound bitter, but shouldn't we munch and swallow them to reflect ourselves? I think that is more important.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 05:25:01
You should be thankful we have such a website, with such knowledgable Ed's, and stop worrying about favoritism and which ed supports which team. They respond to everybody in the same way, there is no vendetta against Liverpool - it is incredibly childish to suggest that their is.

8.) 31 Aug 2016 00:55:57
lol bring out the popcorn feelas, someone decided to take on ed002.
but seriously I've read many times when ed002 has praised liverpool and their positive performances.
but let's look at it this way - I'm a diehard of LFC not Liverpool fans.

9.) 31 Aug 2016 01:59:17
Ive yet to go on any online forum where there is contentious debate (footy or otherwise) without the filter-feeders rising to the surface and blurting abuse to all and sundry. The more popular the forum, the greater the number of numpties it seems. Thank goodness we stay away from politics on here.

10.) 31 Aug 2016 08:32:18
Some people still can't see the priest on a mountain of sugar.

11.) 31 Aug 2016 11:00:33
Ed002 always strikes me as fair with his assessments. Never seen any bias or partisan comments from him. Ignore the haters Ed, the rest of us respect what you do.

12.) 30 Aug 2016 23:41:47
I'm not trying to make it about Chelsea, I am simply pointing out that Liverpool fans are not the only fans who have a idiotic and childish minority. Also, not once have I criticised a player or manager who didn't deserve it, I will be the first to say that klopp has made some stupid mistakes regarding tapping up etc. However, I think you are very harsh with some of your comments regarding klopp e. g. Serial loser, he took us to 2 cup finals in 6 months, he may have lost them but surely that deserves some positive recognition, but still you find the negative in the situation.

Hi eds,

Sky sports news reporting Liverpool have offered Jurgen klopp a new contract already, is this just a reward for good work or does it have something to do with potential new owners as rumours are suggesting?

Thanks in advance.

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - No idea.}

26 May 2016 13:57:48
Hi Eds,

Do you think Liverpool will look to bring a striker in given sturridges latest injury setback and bentekes departure looking likely or do you think we will take our chances with origi, Ings and firmino?

Thanks in advance.

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - Nothing changes because of Sturridge unless he is sold.}

1.) 26 May 2016 15:23:25
His long term future in football does not look good if he cannot stop being injured, klopp cannot hope to build a attack around a player that is always injured, I would build my attack around origi and firmino with ings backing up, and yes I know that all 3 have suffered injuries last season, but with the exception of ings who suffered a serious injury the other 2 recovered quickly, with sturridge its a case of waiting for his next injury to occur, he is becoming a luxury, but is it one we can afford to carry?

Hi eds,

I've seen over the last week or two that Ben chilwell has been very strongly linked. What is your view of him and how far away is he from being able to play in the premier league on a regular basis?

Thanks in advance.

Scouse_red

{Ed001's Note - we have been interested for a while, looks to have a lot of potential, but it is impossible to tell really how close he is until he gets a run of games. Harry Kane looked miles away from being a first team player until he got his shot. Other players are the opposite, look ready, get a chance and just crumble. From what i have seen though, I would say he is ready for a chance. I think he might well get one next season, though just not sure where at yet.}

1.) 20 May 2016 06:35:07
I hope so, would be nice to see an English left back do well at liverpool.

13 May 2016 13:34:20
Hi eds,

I know you are sick of the goetze questions so this isn't really a Goetze question per se. Tony Barrett has this morning said Liverpool are indeed in talks with goetze's representatives and I was just wondering how reliable Tony Barrett is and if he is to be believed?

Thanks in advance.

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation over and over and Liverpool know what needs to be done. And yes, I am sick of questions about Goetze. And I have zero interest in what Barrett has to say.}

Thanks for the reply ed, any chance you can elaborate on the players?

Scouse_red

{Ed002's Note - These are not players Liverpool has shown any interest in. I am not aware of any discussions with Liverpool at all.}

Does nobody else find Steve mcmanaman unbearable as a pundit/ commentator. First of all there is his accent which is ridiculous as he insists on over-pronouncing words and then there is his constant repetition.

Brilliant player, terrible pundit.
