Alright Lads, here's a rumour I'm going to throw into the cage and let the animals tear it up. Keep in mind this is not my rumour nor do have an opinion on it, just relaying what I've read.

Newcastle planning capture of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge after hearing he is growing increasingly unhappy over the remarks towards his fitness and pain threshold.

Apparently according to this source, Jurgen Klopp is willing to let him go £30 million due to his injury problems.

This is coming from a newspaper in England, and also a sports reporting website based on Australia.

Have fun with that one lads.

JaxMan

1.) 07 Feb 2016 10:39:51
Paper talk, but £30m for a player that never plays, take it.

2.) 07 Feb 2016 11:26:31
No club in any of the top leagues in Europe will pay a fee of any size for Sturridge, mostly for reasons of insurance.

China or USA, well that's another matter.

3.) 07 Feb 2016 13:03:11
Selling Balo to China for 15mln is my dream.

4.) 07 Feb 2016 20:21:12
£30m? Deal 😎.

5.) 08 Feb 2016 03:28:29
Danny must be a sensitive lad if he's moving because of personal remarks. Either that or its more bs from desperate journos.

Hey Lads/ Eds,

It's being reported in Aus that Pato has signed for a reported 11 million POUND. Was a few bits on the Fox Sports website, which is the pay tv here. But I'm currently flicking between ESPN (watching Villa struggle against Wycombe) and Fox Sports News and it has come up on the scrolling news ticker at the bottom of the screen.

I've just now done quite a few different searches using a few different search engines and websites and I can't find anything concrete .

If it is true I'm not sure how I feel about it, if we could get Pato playing at his best and consistently it could be great. But I've seen too many transfers like this that go horribly wrong, Ballotelli being 1 of the most recent, Benteke looking like going the same way. I guess all we can do is what we have always done and have faith and belief that the Club and Klopp can get it to work, fingers, toes etc crossed.

Props to ya Ron good to see another red in this moment, using some of Klopps best lines, absolutely love the way he goes about it and the way he speaks.

In this moment, I Believe.

1.) 09 Jan 2016 16:33:11
Disaster. Shows the club have learned nothing which is disturbing to say the least. If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck.

2.) 09 Jan 2016 16:40:55
I don't really understand that if its true, makes no sense to me, why not just utilise Firmino or the younger lads if we're desperate for a striker?

3.) 09 Jan 2016 17:25:14
Because firmino is very poor considering how much Rogers paid for him.

4.) 09 Jan 2016 21:43:18
In this moment I love Klopp's turn of phrase. 😎.

5.) 10 Jan 2016 13:57:38
Haven't we signed Pato about twenty two times already this year?

If I had a tenner for every time some foreign journalist reported we had signed Pato this year, and last, I'd be driving an Aston Martin (and likely one with a pre-owned certified bumper to bumper warranty, which is pretty great) .

6.) 10 Jan 2016 19:51:43
Twenty three times, actually, Fear.

06 Jan 2016 07:50:18
How's this for a rumour lads, listening to smooth fm in Melbourne Australia, and there sports reporter has come on and said that Pierre Aubameyang didn't attend training today (Tuesday) as he was watching the league cup final with Liverpool representatives as they are trying to get a deal done.

I honestly nearly pee'd myself from laughter, there may be the tiniest little bit of chance we could sign him but I seriously doubt it. But to say he missed training because of his impending transfer to LFC had me cracking up. I'm telling u lads some of the stuff reported here is proper mental.

JaxMan

1.) 06 Jan 2016 08:03:31
We can't afford him unfortunately. €60m is the asking price so very few teams could.

2.) 06 Jan 2016 08:44:34
No doubt, I only posted it because it was utter tripe, seriously when it comes to football those chosen to report on it here have no idea, utterly clueless. There was one mentioned a week or so ago that Arsenal we're bringing in Neymar, Bale and another high profile player and that Guardeola was to be manager by the end of Jan.

3.) 06 Jan 2016 09:23:26
Damn. If he doesn't sign ill have to remove his name from my jersey.

4.) 06 Jan 2016 10:11:34
I cannot believe you would admit to listening to smooth fm.

{Ed023's Note - I thought he should of switched off when the reporter said League Cup FINAL}

5.) 06 Jan 2016 11:35:07
Funnily enough, someone who went to the game last night said it seemed common knowledge amongst the fans.
Thought it was nonsense myself.

6.) 06 Jan 2016 12:34:25
Ed023 with the time difference between England and Melbourne we may already be in the final.

{Ed023's Note - Spoiler, we win on penalties says my source :D}

7.) 06 Jan 2016 13:52:03
G'day Bruce. No such time difference here in sunny Helens Bay. Anyway, me source Sheila says Jurgen Klopp will be the next LFC Manager.

8.) 07 Jan 2016 09:43:22
King, not a lot of choice where I am, but it's deff better than most of the other rubbish played here.

Ed023, it had me in stitches mate, though I shouldn't laugh as it's the accepted standard of football knowledge here. I honestly believe not a single reporter or what they try to pass off as pundits don't have a clue about the game and do little to no research on it. They really could have a good league with decent support but the way the FFA and the media treat the game it will never be what it can be.

{Ed023's Note - Cricket, rugby, Aussie rules surely ahead in the pecking order which is understandable.. Just stick with this site for the info and you be doing fine ;)}

Well that didn't quite go as planned, it was all there for the taking. Half time arrived and the whole supporters group I watched the game with were on such a high we were left dumbstruck by the way they got their first after the break, then followed by the next 2 it's left us feeling numb more than anything, I'm sure the anger and disappointment will set in soon.

The main talking points after the game all centred around our full backs and keeper, with the general consensus being that we knew they weren't great but we didn't think them as woeful as what they showed. Most of us agreed that not only did we see their lack of talent and intelligence we also witnessed how poor they are mentally, they are just not big game players, think that goes for more than just the 3 mentioned though.

Until tonight I believed that Klopp could get a decent level of performance out of our full backs and keeper that if we did get replacements they would still offer us something ie: competition for the place, maybe they would work harder, train harder and lift their skill level but now I have to be honest and agree with a lot of posters here and also Ed01, they need to be shown the door. I don't like writing players off or going on epic rants about how bad a player was, but I just can't see any positives in them remaining. We can attack and score goals, and defend from the front but as soon as Moreno Clyne and migs are put under real pressure or asked to defend they are just not capable. Apart from Lovren, Toure and depending how long he gets banned for, Sakho I think we need a complete overhaul of our defensive unit, as apart from 2 defenders and a couple of the kids their just simply no where near good enough.

From the look on Klopps face and the faces of his assistants and even players on the bench they seem to feel the same way. Let's just hope that we get the right players in and Klopp and co can get them playing together at a decent standard in time for the start of next season. At least 1 very minor positive is that he will have lots of time between games to work with them, we witnessed Rodgers take us to 2nd without any euro games, here's hoping Klopp can work his magic and increase that by 1 position, so to next season we look and start dreaming of winning the league.

I don't know how but still in this moment I Believe.

JaxMan

1.) 19 May 2016 01:54:30
It was Suarez and Sturridge that took us to 2nd place in that season - not going to give any credit to Rodgers - all he did was put them on the pitch.

Totally agree with your post - Lovren and Toure were admirable tonight having to basically operate as a 4 man defence between them. Clyne was poor, Moreno should have signed his transfer away with that performance - totally at fault for 2 of the goals and luckily Migs was there to stop Gameiro scoring at point blank range which was again, totally Moreno's fault for losing him.

I think we have a good first team bar those two, we played with 8 outfield players tonight and Sevilla were just excellent at exploiting them and moving us around to create space.

Lads,

To take it away from current issues, how good does the table look? Apart from us being in no mans land, the fact that Leicester are top, Spurs second, and a few of the so called weaker teams knocking on the door of the top 4, it's turning out to be a cracker of a season. Arsenal don't seem to be able to put a proper run together, I hope it stays that way, city seem to falter every time they look like going on a run.

We can only hope that with the increased to revenue other clubs can start putting squads together that will challenge for cups and the champs/ euro league places. With certain teams from other leagues paying through the nose for the "best" players it's making it possible for the teams in the prem to close the gap to the bigger clubs. With an increase in the quality of development at nearly every club hopefully it will sustained.

I would love to see LFC win the lot every year, who wouldn't? But if that's not happening, having a league that's becoming more competitive and harder for a team to break away is fantastic for everyone. Fingers crossed it stays like this, think if Leicester win it this year it will make every club start to think about winning titles, not just surviving or being comfortable mid table sides, hopefully it gives every club a reason to push on and gives us the most entertaining and dramatic football we all crave.

JaxMan

06 Feb 2016 14:05:23
Cmon you Foxes, loving it, 3-0 up on city, they soak up the pressure, break then score. It's not going to be us so I seriously hope they go all the way.

Question for the Eds, I'm trying to find the correct answer but so far have only conflicting info.

The winner of the League cup qualifying for the Europa league, but if that team also qualifies for Champs league does the Europa league spot go to the losing team of the final or to a team finishing in 5th/ 6th etc in the league table?

I thought it was given to a team based on table position, and looking around on the net most bits I've read confirm this, but I've also heard on a few Anfield index and Anfield wrap podcasts that we will get a place in the Europa league as we are in the final, regardless if we win or lose as Man City will qualify for Champs League.

Cheers Lads.

JaxMan

{Ed002's Note - There is no possible route to Europe through the League Cup unless you win it. Whoever is doing the Anfield podcasts is likely a fan of another team just teasing the extremely gullible Liverpool fans.}

1.) 03 Feb 2016 12:41:27
That's what I thought, lol ed unfortunately they are Liverpool supporters, The Anfield Wrap is one of the most listened to podcasts on I tunes, with the presenter also hosting a radio show on City talk on a Thursday evening, the Anfield Index has many different pods under the one umbrella. Some good stuff out there other LFC supporters should check out, particular fav and rather funny one is the day trippers, lads crack me up.

{Ed002's Note - You need to call up and explain reality to them. That may take a lot of time of course.}

22 Jan 2016 13:53:07
Question for ya Lads, Ed01.

It's been a long time since i myself have seen ilori play, it would be back when he was with sporting. Now he hasn't played enough since then but I would imagine he hasn't regressed a whole lot in that time either. He still has a decent bit of pace, can pass well with composure and control, likes being on the ball, can put in a decent challenge and was/ is somewhat tactically aware and technically gifted. Would there in your opinions be an opportunity for him to apprentice himself to Lucas. Instead of becoming an out and out centre back does he have what's required to become a decent defensive midfielder? Either sitting in front of the back 4 with 2 cm in front or part of CM partnership alongside say a Can or Hendo?

Lucas is our most effective player in that position and when he is not there and we need a player like him we struggle. It's not looking like a priority to buy a DM and there's not a whole lot out there to buy anyway.

It's just a thought, I'd prefer Can and Hendo to be box to box with more emphasis on driving us forward and from what I've seen of Thiago and the type of player he is he could be ideal for DM. Think he might get more chances to show what he is about playing there.

Could be a terrible idea or it could be brilliant, would be interesting to read others thoughts and opinions on whether he could do it.

In this moment, I Believe.

JaxMan

{Ed001's Note - I didn't think he did a lot wrong at centre back, he was very composed in the Exeter replay, though he was never under enough pressure to judge him properly. I would like to see him get more games in that role, though it might be worth training him up as a holding midfielder, he has the mobility and range of passing to be extremely effective in a holding role. Maybe try him coming on late, in the way Kolo Toure has been used, to just sit and defend a lead late on, see if he does have promise.}

1.) 22 Jan 2016 14:34:14
I'm really only replying because that was a great post Jax. I don't know enough about player positioning to know if that's a great idea but you convinced me!

2.) 22 Jan 2016 15:13:52
Cheers lads, I thought he looked ok against Exeter considering the lack of match fitness he would be dealing with. He has shown to a degree that he will become a good defender in time, he has what it takes to be great to be fair to the lad but if we can sort our defensive issues out and Ward answers all our prayers in goal I think Thiago could become the rock in front of our defensive while being a major contributor and pivot point to our team when we switch from defence to attack. The only negative I could ever lay at Lucas' feet would be pace, apart from that he has pretty much everything you want from a DM whilst being steadfastly loyal, passionate, determined and having nothing but love for our great club, to have Thiago learn from and be mentored by Lucas (among others) could produce not only a top talent and great player for us but one filled with pride of who he plays for and love for the club and family that is LFC. It's an old school way to look at things to an extant but it's one that's sorely missed and could really work wonders for us. It's part of the reason why I admire and wanted Klopp so much, he instils this into his players and builds his teams with these things in mind.

3.) 22 Jan 2016 15:17:49
Interesting thought although with his pace I could see him being a very good centre back as he would be able to utilize the pace sweeping more than he would in defensive midfield where for me it's more about positional knowledge for me and I'm not sure how he is on that as we can't really judge.
His pace could make up for his possible mis positioning however this for me is what a lot of poor cdms are like at the moment big and pacy and run slot but usually because they're at full pace when they make the tackle. Good thought for sure.

4.) 22 Jan 2016 16:02:15
Let's see him get some sub time against PL opposition and see how he copes with those guys, would be great to have a CB or apprentice CDM in the club already rather than spending more money.

5.) 22 Jan 2016 16:49:46
That sounds a great idea if the club was wise enough to actually release all the players we need too and utilise our current younger players a bit. I really like what he has to offer but I worry if he can naturally dominate his own box in the air. Premiership teams already try to attack us in this way so its defiantly a question mark over him atm. With his pace and ball playing it could be a perfect role for him.

{Ed002's Note - Financial disaster of course.}

6.) 22 Jan 2016 19:30:33
Spot on, Ed01. I thought Ilori did a decent job and was very calm and collected in possession. He does need games and training to develop but is quite a useful player.

7.) 22 Jan 2016 21:18:48
He was training as a DM at Aston Villa after they bought Richards.

8.) 22 Jan 2016 17:15:35
Ok for release substitute sell Ed002, my mistake ;)

{Ed002's Note - Money, that would be the issues N.}

Just read the same dribble on the BBC site, there saying for the summer for Vardy, the hammers are welcome to Mario pity it's rubbish.

Van Persie was worth the cost to Man U, and was a good player, Vardy dosnt come close to what VP offered. There has to be no chance of Vardy, can't see Leicester selling and surely, surely we wouldn't waste that kind of money on him. The lad has done well and I hope he scores plenty at the euros and helps us lift the trophy but there's not a single piece of me that wants to see him in a Liverpool shirt, I'd rather throw away 10 mil on Charlie Austin, and I sure as hell don't want us to do that.

I'm hoping it's not true, and honestly believed that when it was reported in the Aus media on Saturday, really worried now that it's being reported elsewhere, BBC alerts are generally spot on with there info but I'm praying this is one of the ones they are getting wrong.

In this moment Sturridge is unavailable, and it remains to be seen whether he will become available anytime soon. How long is long enough to wait for him to regain strength and conditioning, at the bare minimum it's the start of next season before we see him fit and firing, injury free for six months. Then there's no guarantee that he remains that way. But what if he does? I can honestly say that when he is fit there is not a single striker in the prem I'd swap him with, I've no doubt that if he didn't have these injury issues he would be on his way to being up there with the greatest strikers we have ever had.

It's getting harder to see the light at the end of the Sturridge tunnel, but it's still there. Have we got 18 months to wait to find out? Do we have the required back up? Can we purchase a striker that gets 1 in 2 or even 1 in 3? In ways I'm glad it's not my decision to make, but do I trust the club with this decision?

I don't want to see him go as its one of those that if he leaves he will become fit and score loads, but if he stays he will remain injury prone, it's the way of the football gods. I guess for me it's the feeling that we can not replace his talent, we can't replace his goals, fair enough there's bugger all in this moment but we know what he can do, we also know and have seen the many failed attempts by the club and previous management that they can't pick a goal scorer like him. Does this change with Klopp? I hope so, as we have always had prolific strikers and this just isn't the way it's meant to be.

I can say I want him to remain no doubt, I can't say let's sell and replace, without being full of doubt and fear that it's goes horribly wrong. With the talent he is and what he is capable of I'm willing to give him 18 months, we have given a lot worse a lot longer to get it right.

In this moment, I Believe.

Top post Waro, and reply Ed01, couldn't agree more! When discussing the club and in particular the current management setup, both family and the lads I go to games with all agree that 2/ 3 seasons is a minimum Klopp should have with a realistic outlook to letting him have 5 years, I havnt yet had the unfortunate experience of speaking to some one that dosnt think he is the best fit for our club. The only real negatives I see written or happen to hear on the radio are the FIFA, Internet fans. Without trying to be degrading or telling a person there not a real supporter, it seems to myself that it stems from those that don't have a real connection with the club. Anyone that has been to Anfield since Klopp became gaffer, especially the latter stages of the Europa league games, I'm sure can attest to how much better the atmosphere is not just in the ground but around the stadium and the city itself. It hasn't felt, looked or sounded like this in a damn long time and it started and has evolved since the day he became the boss.

For those that doubt what he has done, is currently doing or can achieve with our club need to re educate themselves about football. We could very well be on the verge of something truly special and I don't want to miss a minute of it, those that think they know better are going to miss out in a big way and I hope I never have to meet this type of fan. Seriously people open your eyes and see what is happening at the club, you really don't want to miss this.

I'm in the same position as burkey, i spend a minimum 6 months in oz with work/ football, I'm lucky enough to have a season ticket so it's never a hassle to go see games. I whole heartedly agree with there being an allocation for those in the "L" area, they help to create a far better atmosphere, before u all lose your nuts, those coming from abroad or other parts of the U. K. are much appreciated supporters of the club, but they r there to watch the match and if they don't go often they become totally absorbed in the game and the atmosphere around them which is utterly brilliant for them to experience.

It's the lads that are local or can get to many games a season that are singing their hearts out with songs and chants as there not wrapped up in the experience of going to Anfield. They have become some what used to it and therefor it becomes just as much a social event and about creating the atmosphere as it is about going to the game and seeing our mighty club on the pitch. We have lost some of that atmosphere in recent years, but we all witnessed how good it can be with some of the Europa league matches last season, being midweek night games a majority of the crowd was local, if we want that every game we have to be able to get those lads in the ground to help create that atmosphere. It can only be a good thing lads.

His record is not flash no, can't argue that. But if our full backs and goalie could do what is required of them we would have won, it's that simple. I can't blame Klopp for the on pitch performances we saw, that lands squarely at the players feet.

Swish, I've only just read about the Optus deal in regards to the epl, what a farce. Not only have they taken it away from a majority of people they will send themselves bankrupt in the process. According to Optus themselves anyone currently not with Optus and in particular Telstra and Foxtel are not to be provided a service, so u can't cancel say your Telstra mobile and switch to Optus to gain the epl. It's an utter disgrace how it's been allowed to happen, but then I don't understand or care for many of Australia's ways of doing things, but this in particular can't be good for anyone.

I will find out who it's through 007, the fam usually just has standard Freeview shite, when I get home I get my sis to get it sorted before I get there so I'm not sure if it's part of another package or if it's standalone. Speaking of which I better get it sorted as they want me home before we head to France for the euros. Who do you use 007? I don't stream it I know that much, it's a sat telly thing I think.

The only reason we kept the boxes is it's easier for the wife to use watching the rubbish that women do.}
