So, Luis Alberto becomes our 30th departure from our first team or U21 team of the summer, 20 permanent and 10 loans.

By any measure that's a fair amount of paperwork, and there's still six hours to go.

And people question our activity in the market!
The squad was massively bloated we couldn't just keep buying, the squad had to be trimmed so we could build for the future.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 18:26:11
Make that 31 departures - Andre Wisdom has just signed on loan for Red Bull.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 20:00:00
Any chance of listing the 31.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 20:19:33
Eds, I am quite happy to list the 31 departures if you don't mind. Great work by your good selves by the way .

{Ed041's Note - send it in as a new post and I'll put it on the others page mate for everyone to look at and it won't get lost.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 21:08:25
Done, now on the "others" page, Balotelli makes it 32 departures at the moment .

Eds, don't shoot me down in flames but it is strange how yesterday's events seem to have increased the chances of Ings arriving at Anfield in the summer .

Consider this. Rodgers knows Dyche extremely well from their time at Watford. If Ings moves to Sociedad or any foreign club, Burnley get buttons, if he moves to LFC or any English club, Burnley get £4/5 million in compensation.

The player is said to be desperate to move to Anfield, there is even talk of a deal being struck in the next week so that the player can concentrate on playing for Burnley until the summer. Such a deal would not breach Premier League rules . Interesting !

Ritters of Hale

{Ed002's Note - Firstly it is nothing to do with Watford. Secondly, Rodgers does not have any involvement with negotiations for transfers. Liverpool cannot speak directly with the player without the permission of his club. As of June 1 or whenever he is released from his contract (typically at the end of the season) then Liverpool can talk with the player. It is clear that the player wants to move to Anfield in the summer, and if Liverpool want the player then I am sure agreement can be reached.}

1.) 04 Feb 2015 04:54:42
Ed002 then can you explain why Tony Barrett is writing that this is exactly what LFC are trying to do

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea who Tony Barrett is or what he is saying.

If he is suggesting that Rodgers is striking some sort of deal by talking to the player with the complicity of Dyche then it will be a tapping up charge for the club - and with charges to Burley as well.}

2.) 04 Feb 2015 09:17:46
Ed, I read an article on this whole situation likening the move to Smallings move to Man Utd, quoting a rule u8. Can you shed any more light?

{Ed002's Note - Smalling's transfer happened during the transfer window. Perhaps Liverpool are stupid enough to believe the regulations from five years ago or so apply then they are in for a shock. You all seem to be pretty sure that this Barrett chap has said Liverpool will be tapping up a player from another club. I have explained what can be done in order to obtain a deal for Ings. Is Barrett on of the posters here? It would be interesting to have him justify all of this nonsense he is being accused of saying about Rodgers and Dyche conspiring to make an illegal approach.}

3.) 05 Feb 2015 04:39:08
Ed002 maybe you should talk to Ed001 about Tony Barrett. The Merseyside reporter for The Times, amongst fans he is considered the leading expert (along with James Pearce of The Echo) on what is happening at Anfield.

{Ed001's Note - that is not what he is, he is not an expert on what is happening, no one is. Nor is he leading anything. Pearce is worse, he is just saying what he is told to say, which is why there are so many inaccuracies in his stories.}

Some years ago we had a young goalkeeper in the U18s, Ryan Crump was his name and like so many others, he left for pastures new, joining Blackburn in August 2014 then Southport in July 2016,ending up at Hyde I think whilst working part-time at the B&Q.

Last night he was on our bench for the U23s.

Have I missed something? There is absolutely no mention of him on the club website!

Ritters of Hale

1.) 12 Aug 2017 10:46:13
I heard he was just in as cover due to lack of availability of GKS for this game. I may be wrong though.

I thought Sturridge was awesome yesterday. He seems to have been around the Premiership forever yet still hasn't started 100 league games, due to his bad luck over the years.

He has 67 goals in 99 league starts and I hope he adds to that on Wednesday!

Ritters of Hale

1.) 18 Apr 2016 14:52:06
Was critical of his work ethic a few weeks back but in fairness is proving myself and doubters wrong. Would be amazing if he can put his injury problems behind him as imo is England's best player and is just marginally behind aguero as the best striker in the league.

2.) 18 Apr 2016 15:24:07
He looks like the old Sturridge looking to score evertime he had a shot and I think origin is pushing him to it because he knows if he does not play well he could be a sub . It's nice that we are having other players who can score goals in the team to take the pressure off him.

3.) 18 Apr 2016 15:32:26
I'm just enjoying having Origi, Sturridge, Firmino and Coutinho all in good goalscoring form, as well as Milner and Lallana creating a lot of goals and chances. We've scored about 40 goals this calendar year already. And it's only April!

4.) 18 Apr 2016 16:03:10
Add ingsy to that aswell. the futures bright goals galore.

5.) 18 Apr 2016 16:40:38
If only we can Mkhytaryan. .

6.) 18 Apr 2016 16:53:19
Rather Reus than Mkhytaryan as he is a floaty number 10 type and we have loads of them, Reus is able to play anywhere on the front line.

7.) 18 Apr 2016 20:03:07
Reus would be a good replace for coutinho if he was sold . I know i said I would rather give Ojo and Ibe a chance but because Walcott not at Reus level or even coutinho.

BVB airliner passed over the green fields of Hale Village, approximately 1240 hours, at about 1000 feet, on the way to JLA.

Couldn't see much, but I thought Hummells looked pale.

Ritters of Hale

1.) 13 Apr 2016 13:51:43
Made me chuckle that.

2.) 13 Apr 2016 15:09:36
Ritters, whilst pale, did he also look excited to be playing at the mecca of football, and possibly contemplating a long term career there? Or was it going a bit too fast?

3.) 13 Apr 2016 15:18:52
Zeddicus, Hummells is 28 this year and he looked every minute of that, so I doubt he is contemplating a long term career anywhere, apart from Dortmund of course!

02 Apr 2016 09:42:01
So, there we have it, Benteke's Anfield career consists of 12 Premiership starts and is over in the blink of an eye.

Personally I lay no blame at his door, my four year old grandson could see he would never make a Liverpool player .

A little bit of effort would have been welcome though.

Best wishes, Christian, good luck at your next club.

1.) 02 Apr 2016 10:22:34
He lasted longer than Robbie Keane I suppose.

2.) 02 Apr 2016 12:07:15
More money wasted tho. I can't think of another club that gets it so wrong as often as ours.

3.) 02 Apr 2016 15:24:27
Big question is how many of those involved in deciding on this route are still involved? He was never going to work in the structure Rodgers had and doesn't fit with Klopp either.

4.) 02 Apr 2016 21:53:11
BR gets the blame because he and him, was the one who forced the Benteke move over to LFC. And befor anyone tries to blame the TC for this as all the other disingenuous and dishonest fans and pundits have done in the past, BR is in charge of the TC, all transfers and the player personnel. Therefore, BR is gone and I hope the transfer system will be overhauled but first off, the MAIN culprit has been shown the door.

For the second consecutive summer we had exactly 30 departures ( it's almost as though there is a plan ?? ). This time it was 12 permanent and 18 loans.

One name you never see mentioned is our left back, Brad Smith, an
England U20 international(3 caps)and a full international for Australia (4 caps). He played against Chelsea a couple of years' ago.

There were four empty spaces in our Premier League squad announced last week yet he never gets a mention in that or the underage squad. His profile is still on the club website.

Does anyone think I should ring the Missing Persons Bureau ?

No club in any of the top leagues in Europe will pay a fee of any size for Sturridge, mostly for reasons of insurance.

China or USA, well that's another matter.

Looking slightly further ahead (January), Lallana will have replaced Coutinho as the most advanced of our three midfielders. The Coutinho fee will be spent elsewhere in the team.

Adam, I would be interested to know if you saw Grujic over 90 minutes against Man Utd U23 just over a week ago.

I take it none of you saw Grujic play last night, what a performance, head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

And he was ill as well.

I often wonder why we expect Firmino to score as many goals as a striker when he is clearly not a striker and never has been. If Klopp played Mignolet up front (don't rule it out) would we expect him to get as many goals as Rush or Fowler?

Not forgetting that Taiwo Awoniyi played 88 minutes for Mouscron in a 3-2 win over Eupen.
