I just want to acknowledge how lucky we are to have Bobby Firmino playing for us! Week in week out he gives 100% and rarely misses a game! Epitomises a true professional! Let’s hope he stays for years to come.

{Ed0333's Note - absolutely reinforce and echo your point 100000% Billsborough. Give him a lucrative 5 year deal now he deserves it.

Let’s hope he stays underrated by the so called ‘big clubs’. :) .

2.) 15 Feb 2018 02:34:43
Totally agree, and we are starting to see a lot more of the Brazilian flair from him. Its as if he has taken up coutinho's mantle but in a more clinical fashion. Loving him right now and agree we should reward him with a bumper contract before the big boys come sniffing.

3.) 15 Feb 2018 02:55:13
He's just unbelievable isn't he, definitely the best player in the squad for me.

4.) 15 Feb 2018 04:35:39
We need a 20+ goal scorer. oh wait 😂.

5.) 15 Feb 2018 06:42:20
Nobody was wrong to criticize his goal rate, he really didn't score enough, but he's flipped a switch in the last three months. Now he's scoring at an elite rate as well as working like a mad man, it's an incredible combination.

The best thing is that, because he's not a conventional striker, the big clubs are unlikely to chase him.

6.) 15 Feb 2018 08:21:22
Putney- He could score 10/ 15 goals a season and be worth his place imo.

7.) 15 Feb 2018 09:05:20
He’s like gold dust to our team at the moment, not only his goal return but when he gets back to help the midfield and what’s funny is the opposition midfielders aren’t expecting a tackle or being pressed from behind so he catches them off guard every time and 7/ 10 times wins the ball!

I'm not suggesting we should, but after today's match I'm thinking Klopp may use Milner as the spare left or right back. Got to fit those wages somewhere.

1.) 28 Jul 2016 09:04:20
Yeah, the only place i see for Milner in the squad is as the 7th substitute. Hope him and Mignolet get on well together. :)

2.) 28 Jul 2016 09:05:34
It was for game time, and honestly, probably Mignolet would have done a better job at right back than Randall.

3.) 28 Jul 2016 09:26:38
Milner would be a bad shout at RB. Positionally inept and would be a joke against any decent winger.

4.) 28 Jul 2016 11:08:45
I must be alone in thinking milner is a good player then.

5.) 28 Jul 2016 12:01:04
Milner scored 6 goals in the league last season and created 11 more. That's 17 goals he played a part in. He's not my favourite player either but he's nowhere near as bad as a lot of you think.

6.) 28 Jul 2016 12:02:23
He's good, but not great. He's like, Everton good. Useful to have but not brilliant at any one thing. Like a leatherman.

7.) 28 Jul 2016 12:26:58
I think the problem with miliner is he seems to think he is a central midfielder now. For all his good play he will have twice as much poor. Will cross a peach of a ball during play then on set pieces look like he's forgot how to kick a ball.

8.) 28 Jul 2016 12:33:43
Milner is a strange one. On the one hand is passing is awful, he will make u hold your head in disbelief every second time he gets the ball. On the other hand he somehow always there with the ball and as he has the ball so much it happens that one a game he will have a decent cross, or half decent assist or shot on goal. If he was half as good in releasing the ball as he is good in make himself available to get the ball, he could be a good player.

FYI. Brad Smith has bossed his 2 games for Australia starting and playing both 90 minutes at left back! Assured in defence and caused problems in attack!

One game they won 11-0 and the other against jordan. He's played in the national team since he was about 18 context of the opposition is needed.

Can only beat what's in front of you.

If we paid out Brad Jones's contract, I wonder why didn't we do the same for Enrique.

It’s come under major scrutiny in the A-league in Australia. Especially it’s use for yellow/ red cards as it’s pure conjecture. Also it’s not play on when the flags raised and let’s say the striker is one on one with the keeper, if you want to get the right call let the play finish and possible goal and then check the offside. They will happily call back an offside goal if the flags stay down but not for the flag raised. I just think it’s messy and you will know what I mean when it’s introduced to the premier league.

Scmeichel was pundit for Australian coverage of match. He said it was an inexcusable error Karius made and if he made it he wouldn’t talk to anyone for a month. funny how they forget. Perfect in retirement.

Every team concedes chances, it's not luck that migs made a good save. It's not luck that Lovren makes a great challenge. I'll give you Moreno's brain explosion but that's at least 1 per game. We deserved the clean sheet tonight.

He was injured at start of season then came back as number 2. Fought hard to get back to number 1 with Neville, I personally think he is a great keeper, yes small but disagree with other comments about not commanding box, distribution is amazing and can 'stop' shots!

Billsborough

{Ed001's Note - he is flashy but rubbish. He is number one because of the sale value. The Spanish will tell you Domenech is a much better keeper, while Ryan is seen as a weak link.}
