Has Joel Matip been signed by anyone yet? Is there a possibility that he rejoins LFC maybe on a pay as you play deal.
{Ed002's Note - No chance and he is talking to ther clubs.}
1.) 03 Sep 2024 12:54:27
Pay as you play is pretty unheard of and Matip is too good for that. I’d feel disrespected if I was Matip and was offered that. Good luck Joel, never let us down ?.
2.) 03 Sep 2024 14:46:55
Eh, no offense, but Matip has let us down plenty of times. The injuries he picked up, at the least opportune moments, were beyond a joke. Still remains a Liverpool legend, and probably our best free signing of all time (Along with Milner) but let's not pretend he was infallible.
3.) 03 Sep 2024 15:09:46
Every player gets injuries, Matip always put in 100% and never behaved poorly on or off the field - unlike some.
4.) 03 Sep 2024 15:39:26
A footballers job isn't just 90 minutes on a weekend so pay as you play is just insulting. He could train all week, travel with the squad then get injured in the warm up and receive absolutely nothing. Imagine you worked Christmas day and Boxing day but didn't get paid anything for it because you had an accident at work that meant you couldn't work the last 90 minutes of your shift. You'd be absolutely fuming ?
In the immortal words of Heath Ledger's Joker character, "If you're good at something, never do it for free".
5.) 03 Sep 2024 16:41:49
Why would Matip agree to such a crappy deal for one, and why would LFC even entertain such a thought? We've recently let him go for a reason. Too old, too injury prone despite him being a great player for the club over the years. Move on.
6.) 03 Sep 2024 19:06:20
Mango - let's not forget Gary McAllister!
7.) 03 Sep 2024 21:37:14
@Mango - How does anybody putting their body on the line in a contact sport and getting injured in doing so constitute letting anybody down ? At best your remarks are very naive.
8.) 03 Sep 2024 22:24:59
I think it is pretty offensive to say matip let us down plenty of times. As far as i know, he wasnt disruptive, or refused to play, or cause disharmony? Yes, he had an injury record but gave all when played. He was unfortunate for sure.
9.) 04 Sep 2024 01:36:00
Have to speak up for Matip.
While he did get injured, but you compare with Thiago? And even Naby?
And we pay 0 as transfer fees.
One of the best buys if you ask me.
10.) 04 Sep 2024 02:16:49
I don’t think I’d describe a player getting injured as a reason they’re infallible.
31 Aug 2024 14:52:00
Are Liverpool looking at signing any free agents, for example Mario Hermosa (29) LB/ LCB released by Atletico Madrid and Adrien Rabiot.
Are there other notable players who potentially may be of interest.
1.) 31 Aug 2024 15:42:54
I’ll polish my boots ready for the call.
2.) 31 Aug 2024 20:17:47
He's like a new signing.
Last season as per @CIES_Football
Tyler Morton was one of the best press-resistant U21 midfielders in world football.
He had ball retention under high pressure rate of 86.9%.
Only Gavi (87.1%) and Zaïre-Emery (87.1%) ranked higher.
#LFC should have signed a no.6 in my opinion.
But I’m a huge fan of Morton. I think he’s very suited to Slot’s style of play.
Jarell Quansah took his chance last year when #LFC didn’t sign a CB.
Now I hope Morton does the same.
3.) 31 Aug 2024 22:38:13
Got very high hopes for Morton too. Let's see if Slot looks to utilise him in the coming months.
4.) 01 Sep 2024 06:57:11
With Endo likely being unneeded, Jones injury prone and us rejecting a bid for him, you would imagine we will get a chance in one of the two CM positions covering for Macca or Grab at some point. Let's hope he takes his chance when it comes.
5.) 01 Sep 2024 07:04:44
I still don't get this phrase 'press resistant'.
If his stats were 86.9% for ball retention so that means he lost the ball 13.1% of the time. If my phone was water resistant 86.9% of the time, I'd not be taking it near water.
6.) 01 Sep 2024 07:07:16
Agree 100% - let’s hope Tyler Morton is this season’s breakthrough silver lining. Shout out for James McConnell too who was excellent in his 3 apps last season. Let’s not heap pressure on Trey Nyoni. Yet.
7.) 01 Sep 2024 01:06:40
EDs with your knowledge and the reported interest in LFC looking to loan or maybe sell Morton. What do you think has actually happened? The move away didn’t suit or offer not hit right? Or is it a case of this player is potentially good enough so reject anything and keep. Has he been viewed as a reason to keep and not spend.
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything happening. There was an offer that was rejected so he will likely stay for now.}
8.) 01 Sep 2024 09:41:10
@Brommers I think it’s the kiddies jargon for ‘hard to tackle’ or ‘hard to get the ball off’.
It’s the current generation’s attempt to sound knowledgeable, like inverted (which really means, according to the OED, to change the normal position of something, especially by turning it upside down or in the opposite order), or pivot or double pivot.
9.) 01 Sep 2024 19:21:26
Let’s not be too woke or snowflakes about words lol.
10.) 01 Sep 2024 20:07:50
Still banging on about transfers, whilst Slot does his thing, and Grav steps up. Fine tuning an already brilliant motor is what we are doing, rather than adding some alloys, a bassbin and some go faster stripes.
11.) 01 Sep 2024 20:14:42
Even before but most especially now I do not understand the fan obsession with needing or wanting to buy. I think we have a very decent squad and I think Slot thinks that too.
I admire fully the want to understand the crop he has and to only go hunting if there is obvious out there that will improve it. Free agents - I can't think of any that might and I really wouldn't like to do a Chaelsea and take other clubs "deadwood" as they have with Sancho (especially after telling a far better albeit older player he has no place and sending him on loan).
I looked at our Starting Line up today and sketched a second 11 from the squad (still leaving some decent players adrift) and I thought - both of these teams under decent management are a better starting 11 than a significant amount of teams in the prem can field.
Ali.
12.) 01 Sep 2024 21:01:17
What's wrong with go faster stripes?
13.) 02 Sep 2024 07:59:17
Brommer, your argument doesn’t hold water I’m afraid (haha) …. it’s flawed logic.
If a watch is to be water resistant, it needs to be water resistant 100% of the time or it breaks and is useless forever more. And it’s reasonable to expect a machine to meet this standard.
Footballers do not work in absolutes, they are humans. There is no midfielder that holds possession 100% of the time, or striker that scores 100% of the time, or GK that saves 100% of the time etc…. wed be waiting a long time to recruit someone who never gives the ball away.
14.) 02 Sep 2024 08:31:39
I thought Brommers post was really funny! Stop spoiling it for me SGRed with common sense! ?.
15.) 02 Sep 2024 08:53:57
I do enjoy a good logical fallacy.
For example ‘Manchester United are always dangerous at Old Trafford’ ??.
16.) 02 Sep 2024 11:34:32
SG Red, here's a fallacy for you, it's amazing how many pundits and websites state that Mamardashvili is on loan at Valencia.
I would be very surprised if any of the posters/ readers on these pages are under that wrong impression.
17.) 02 Sep 2024 12:13:53
Alternative comedy - brillient.
18.) 02 Sep 2024 12:31:01
What is the obsession with recruitment for recruitments sake? We are gladly not Chelsea (who have now taken to recruiting Man U deadwood after telling a far better, albeit older; player he has no place) .
I looked at our starting 11 yesterday and sketched a starting 11 from those not included that would equally be capable in my mind of challenging high up.
Kelleher
Tsimikas
Quansah
Gomez
Bradley
Endo
Elliott
Jones
Chiesa
Nunez
Gakpo
And still a decent few players excluded from the 22.
There is no need to recruit if (as the manager says) the quality to improve is not in supply. It has to be an improvement!
19.) 02 Sep 2024 22:35:30
Just sayiing, but I did call this. not even a day after the window passes and we get a question about free agents
:D.
20.) 02 Sep 2024 22:45:59
@Genius - at what point should we start heaping pressure on Nyoni (or anybody else for that matter) ?
21.) 06 Sep 2024 15:58:33
SG Red, in fairness though the mantra 'Manchester United are always dangerous at Old Trafford' doesn't actual detail the direction of that danger lol - Onana certainly felt in great danger from that Utd team ???.
22 Aug 2024 14:41:07
Brighton have been unusually free spending in this summer's transfer window, cashing in some of their credit from Chelsea deals (Potter, Caicedo, Cucurella etc) .
They now look to have a bloated squad are are likely to offload two or three players before the window shuts.
Is Kauru Mitoma a possibility to be the Salah successor.
Also with Yves Bissouma blotting his copybook at Spurs are they looking to offload him. I'm not sure he's the type of player Slot wants as a number 6 but he was of interest to LFC prior to his Tottenham move?
{Ed002's Note - No.}
1.) 22 Aug 2024 16:54:10
In fairness Chelsea gave them a huge transfer warchest. They can spend as much as they like.
2.) 22 Aug 2024 17:08:48
Along as we don’t get mitoma as a salah replacement haha, may as well get minamino back.
3.) 22 Aug 2024 17:48:51
How is Mitoma (a LW) a potential Salah replacement? (RW)
4.) 22 Aug 2024 17:51:00
Magico, a load of rubbish that. Mitoma is a lot stronger, more direct, can beat a man and importantly score. Not saying he’s a Salah level replacement but he’s better than Minamino.
5.) 22 Aug 2024 19:03:49
In your opinion frode, in mine he’s crap.
6.) 22 Aug 2024 19:24:49
Opinions can be wrong Magico.
7.) 22 Aug 2024 19:43:18
Crap, Magico. Sure, next you’ll be saying Hughes is great for us.
8.) 22 Aug 2024 19:43:42
'He's crap' is the type of intelligent well thought out argument I am here for.
9.) 22 Aug 2024 19:47:56
As can others.
10.) 22 Aug 2024 19:49:57
Frode too early to talk about Hughes. Not a good start but let's see what happens.
11.) 22 Aug 2024 20:02:06
How is Mitoma crap?
12.) 22 Aug 2024 20:03:11
Hughes has had a complete shocker so far. Paris buys incoming.
13.) 22 Aug 2024 20:25:04
Who are we buying from Paris Mark?
14.) 22 Aug 2024 20:27:29
I'm confused here. so who's crap?
Minamino, Mitoma, Hughes, Frode, Magico
I'm really amazed how some people get attacked for having their own opinions.
Whatever happened to each to their own? Or having respect and tolerance for someone else's views?
We won't all agree with each other, and that's OK, that's what makes this place so awesome, but the constant berating if someone else's views is getting out of hand.
15.) 22 Aug 2024 20:31:14
I agree, no players bought in January window and none in this window.
Supposedly they knew slot was coming six months in advance, not developing the team for a whole year is shameful.
I don't see any teams selling quality players to us with 9 days of the window left.
16.) 22 Aug 2024 20:47:07
Oh ye of little faith. let's wait until the end of the window and see what happens.
Having lost Matip and SVDB, with Ibou's injury record and how much football Virgil has played, it would be madness to not sign someone else, and I am confident that we will.
As for any other position beyond the new keeper, i guess it depends on who is available and willing to join.
17.) 22 Aug 2024 21:27:35
The keeper won't count as a signing to improve the team now for me Vango.
Maradashvilli coming to us after a year loan and with no sign of Keleher moving with have enough keepers with the youth guy I forgot his name now.
That isn't strengthening the team for this season.
18.) 22 Aug 2024 22:56:11
Bissouma is absolute **** of the earth.
19.) 22 Aug 2024 23:12:56
Ha Panic.
20.) 22 Aug 2024 23:13:43
@JLC, let it go mate, everyone’s crap, life is short and we’re all going to die.
Hughes has managed to negotiate £45m plus potentially another £12.5m in add-ons, plus sell-ons for two players who have played a minimal number of games for Liverpool and who were never going to feature in the first team. That would all but have covered the cost of Zubimendi, had he not changed his mind (which, again, for those of us with both paddles in the water can’t actually be blamed on Hughes) .
21.) 23 Aug 2024 06:14:26
Hughes, Slot, etc. are still finding their feet. Suggestions that we should have had a plan 6 months ago is ludicrous at best. I'll take a top 4 finish in what might be a transition year and give Slot and the recruitment team time to make their mark. We have a good enough squad to achieve that. The flip side of the coin is Chelsea and I'm happy that's not how we conduct ourselves.
22.) 23 Aug 2024 09:37:54
Stick another £10m on for Clark. Again, not in the plans for match day squad, let alone a starter. Good business.
23.) 23 Aug 2024 11:07:24
@OneKiss I guess your **** stands for 'Salt'. Well at least Bissouma can laugh at that one.
No. I'll get my coat.
24.) 23 Aug 2024 16:11:17
NMB there are plenty of censorable words you could use to describe him. I know first hand the type of ‘man’ he is.
08 Jul 2024 11:08:45
Is there a Pinterest in the Turkish RW Yilmas. Arguably the best RW in the Euros. I wonder though how much he is driven by playing for his country and whether he plays that hard week in week out o er a full season at club level.
{Ed002's Note - Barıs Alper Yılmaz (RW) Brighton has shown an interest in the Galatasaray player.}
1.) 08 Jul 2024 12:17:54
Reminds me of Craig Bellamy, would be a good signing.
2.) 08 Jul 2024 12:49:34
Never ever be fooled by performances in tournaments, as United have found out with Amrabat…and Poborski…and Kleberson. He isn’t exactly setting the world alight at Galatasaray, and the Turkish league isn’t a particularly strong one. If he was absolutely tearing the place apart and scoring left right and centre then fair enough, but he simply isn’t. Hopefully it’s just random name generating by lazy journalists who are clutching at straws.
3.) 08 Jul 2024 13:02:07
He could be the next El-hadi diouf.
4.) 08 Jul 2024 16:12:52
El Hadji Spoof.
5.) 09 Jul 2024 07:58:02
VV a better standard of player lifts others, he would be a pain like Bellamy, just hopefully he isn't into golf and VVD says he was a pain I'd like to think we would listen.
14 Jun 2024 10:35:00
I see Matt Hummels is a free agent, I think he'd be a top quality backup for a season or two to replace Matip.
Also rumours of VVD in talks with Al-Nassr.
{Ed002's Note - No chance of Hummels.}
1.) 14 Jun 2024 11:21:08
Hummels is 36 in December.
2.) 14 Jun 2024 12:23:56
----------------You have commented on the wrong post Alonso.}
3.) 14 Jun 2024 13:12:33
My bad Ed2.
{Ed002's Note - No problem - just repost it.}
4.) 14 Jun 2024 14:04:34
So @RedAk, you will replace a 33 year old who is arguably the best CB in the PL last season, with a 36 year old who is as washed as they come even tho, he had a good season overall, right? Bro, I propose you go work that out again and let me know.
As for the Al Nassr links, why would he go to a retirement league when he has a crack at the CL you know, that thinh he has won before? Again, go work that out again and then we can discuss.
5.) 14 Jun 2024 15:56:36
Oli the way you write your posts sometimes makes you sound like a patronising, disrespectful know it all.
Are you those things?
I propose you go and think about that and we can discuss.
6.) 14 Jun 2024 16:35:21
Oilred. Matip the best CB in the prem last year that a bowled statement mate. How about Gabriel, stones to name a few.
7.) 14 Jun 2024 17:09:30
i think he was referring to VVD.
8.) 14 Jun 2024 18:54:09
VVD is still the gold stanard of CBs for me. Would i swap him for Saliba? Maybe for age. But dam VVD does pretty well in a system where our 6 is a playmaker, our RB goes wondering wherever he's vibing and our LC is like a LWB.
9.) 14 Jun 2024 22:52:14
Great post funky, couldn't agree more.
10.) 15 Jun 2024 08:06:57
Hummels was too slow for the PL ten years ago. I’m sure he hasn’t sped up with age.
11.) 15 Jun 2024 10:04:47
Longthing76, where did I mention Matip cos the poster clearly mentioned VVD in comparison to Hummels?
12.) 15 Jun 2024 12:12:48
We know you watch every game twice. Perhaps you should start reading every post twice.
Clearly says Matip in opening post.
13.) 17 Jun 2024 00:03:02
Oli - your post, Very funny, very patronising and very wrong!
RedAK's banter posts with other poster's replies to RedAK's banter posts

Quite literally a walk in the park.
Gravenberch continues his excellent start to the season. Man of the Match again for me but you can't argue about either Salah (2 assists, 1 goal) or Diaz (2 goals) getting it - 10 out of 10 performances from all three.
Great to see the whole team working as a unit defensively. Slot continues to quietly go about doing the job, silencing critics along the way. Next issue for him to 'prove himself' is the two games a week conundrum with UCL and EPL.
Being overly critical there were moments of complacency and sloppiness at 3-0 up. However, 3-0 was the least Liverpool deserved from the fixture.
Interesting comments from Salah re: contract - nothing even offered so far and went so far as to say it would be his final season - "Say it ain't so, Mo"
However, Bob Paisley was a master at letting players go at exactly the right time. Slot, like Bob before gives an air of likeability, calmness that is already becoming a trademark of the way this LFC plays. He also appears to be ruthless in his approach and has made his presence felt in the dressing room.
3 games, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets - still plenty of questions to be answered but the rollercoaster ride has been smooth and scenic this far - at some point there has to be a bump in the road but for now, let's just enjoy the ride.
1.) 01 Sep 2024 20:03:14
Good performance, a bit sloppy here and there, but Slot saying after the game that there's a lot to improve and that he didn't like that Alisson had a couple of saves to make! Makes me think we're in really good hands and that Slot might be a masterstroke!
2.) 01 Sep 2024 20:43:10
Was certainly not a walk in the park, HaHa-land would have buried the two Zirkee chances, and as above was sloppy at times, but any win is a good win.
Personally I would forget about the Champions League where you have to play circa 50 games to win it now, and 100% totally focus on the Premier, as Man City will go all out for that rather than the Premier.
I hope Arteta does not have the same thoughts, and goes all out for the Premier as well, and dismisses the Champions League, by hoping Arne goes all out for the Champions League as well as Man City.
Next year strengthen again, and reverse priorities perhaps?
3.) 01 Sep 2024 21:33:33
Great start to the season. Today was something of a free hit for Liverpool, a marker to see where we’re at.
And we smashed Man Utd to pieces. Big statement win away at Old Trafford. Up the Reds!
4.) 01 Sep 2024 21:34:32
Amazing result, I was a little nervous in the first ten minutes as they had a bit of fire but as soon as we settled down we took control, took our time and then punished them. I hope Gravenberch continues to make me eat humble pie as he’s done very well thus far. As Mo, VVD and TAA give them their contracts now.
5.) 01 Sep 2024 23:15:37
Cracking way to start the week
The rumors are we used professional pickpocket experts to dismantle United's midfield.
6.) 01 Sep 2024 23:35:53
I liked that we won too
But I guess we all need to calm down as we had only just beaten a mid table club, no?
Hahahaha, we were amazing!
7.) 01 Sep 2024 23:43:10
Have you not watched Utd against Liverpool before Frode?
They always go for it in the first 10 mins, hope to get a goal, and then revert to type (sit back and try to hit on the break.
They do the same at OT as at Anfield. When they play us I don’t think they really have a home fixture, same tactics either way.
8.) 02 Sep 2024 01:51:40
fans would be salivating had we bought gravenberch this summer as a 6.
early days for sure, but have been saying since last season, he has all the attributes to play CDM. just comes down to the set-up and the manager. seems he has found the right environment under Slot.
9.) 02 Sep 2024 11:08:55
I somewhat disagree, Casimiro gave 2 of the 3 goals away and another striker gets 2 goals. still along way to go.
28 Aug 2024 18:10:14
Don't be surprised if he's ahead of Curtis Jones and/ or Endo by the end of the season.
1.) 28 Aug 2024 19:40:56
Do you mean Tyler Morton mate? Assume this was sent in as a reply to the thread on the rumours page.
2.) 28 Aug 2024 19:45:39
And who is this that will be ahead of Jones and Endo? Or is there a new signing that has come in that only you know about. So who is this mystery signing or player? Come on, don't hold out on us now.
3.) 28 Aug 2024 19:45:52
Who? tyler morton or rabiot?
4.) 28 Aug 2024 20:23:24
Igor Biscan?
5.) 28 Aug 2024 22:39:24
Poulsen?
6.) 29 Aug 2024 10:03:11
Jean Michel-Ferri?
7.) 29 Aug 2024 10:59:42
Pegguy Aphexad or Bernard Diomede, perhaps?
8.) 29 Aug 2024 11:58:48
Salif Diao.
9.) 29 Aug 2024 20:45:36
Damn I wish Id thought of Diao!
28 Aug 2024 18:08:16
Darwin has got a 5 game ban - International matches only
Bentancur got 4 matches.
Good news for LFC as Darwin doesn't have to fly halfway around the World on International breaks.
1.) 28 Aug 2024 18:35:15
He would most probably leave in winter. The lad is what 6th choice?
2.) 28 Aug 2024 20:09:52
Have we 6 centre forwards now?
3.) 28 Aug 2024 19:21:13
What at CF UA? How do you come to that conclusion?
4.) 28 Aug 2024 19:48:29
UnderAmor, you continuosly saying he is 6th choice still does not make it so. Darwin is a CF just like Jota is from a starting position. That is his only competition, IMO. Or did you break into Slot's office at AXA to see the depth chart?
5.) 28 Aug 2024 23:21:00
Love how 6th choice has become a thing lol. 6th choice says to me that there are 5other forward combinations we would put on the pitch before we consider Darwin getting on lol
Think about it folks.

Prediction time fellow Reds and Eds
Champions League: Man City
FA Cup: Arsenal
League Cup: Newcastle
Premier League: Liverpool
CL Places: Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle
5th-6th: Brighton, Man Utd
7th: Aston Villa
Relegated: Ipswich, Saints, Forest
First Manager sacked: Julen Lopetegui
Liverpool
EPL: Champions (more on hope than expectation)
UCL: Quarter Finals (probably to Real Madrid)
FA Cup: 4th round (disappointing home loss to a Championship team with Slot playing a weakened team underestimating the opponents)
League Cup: Semi finalists
Breakthrough player: Tyler Morton
I think West Ham will regress under Lopetegui, Chelsea will take a few months to bed down, start to pick up then sack Maresca, Crystal Palace are a dark horse who could run into a European place or have a strong run in one or both Cup comps.
Tottenham seemed to have been found out at the end of last season and will likely fall back a little. Everton will be bottom 5 or 6 with Leicester who I think will be the promoted team who buck the trend and survive. Which leaves Wolves who will be mid table and may have a good cup run.
What say you?
1.) 24 Aug 2024 11:32:24
Champions League: Real Madrid
League Cup: West Ham (think they’ll finish 8th-10th though)
FA Cup: Man City
Premier League: Liverpool
CL places: City, Arsenal, United
5th/ 6th: Villa, Spurs
7th: Newcastle
Relegated: Everton, Ipswich, Southampton
Breakthrough player: Nyoni.
2.) 24 Aug 2024 11:47:12
@Red, have u placed a pound on all that? Cannot see a chunk of it happening but, stranger things have happened.
Also Red, do u work for the VAR team? Cos to me that’s how most of it will occur imo.
3.) 24 Aug 2024 12:02:59
Champions League: Liverpool
Premier League: Liverpool

U21 Watch
The under 21's started the season on Saturday with a fine 3-1 home win over Man City. The scoreline flattered the Reds somewhat as it could easily have gone the other way.
Harvey Davies made some good saves in what was a relatively inexperienced lineup (watched by half a dozen academy graduates including Ben Doak, Rhys Williams, Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon)
LFC look to have a couple of fine prospects in Dominic Corness - midfielder with a wand of a left foot and excellent set piece delivery. Right Winger Kyle Morrison also caught the eye despite only graduating from the U18s.
On Tuesday evening they opened their European campaign against a very, very good PSV Eindhoven outfit, losing 4-0 at home. Plenty of changes from the weekend team in what looked a fairly weak starting XI. Corness was a second half substitute and again showed flashes of his potential.
Jay Spearing also raised his head as a late substitute in an attempt to keep a very young teams heads from dropping any further.
This was (on paper) the toughest opponent in the group and to be honest, was a steep learning curve.

There seems to be some legs to this. I think there's a chance that Kubo is bought and loaned back to Sociedad for a season. It could also be that Bajcetic or Tyler Morton perhaps Bobby Clark are sent to Sociedad for a season or even included in the deal
So
Zubimendi - LFC
Kubo - LFC (loaned back for a season)
Morton/ Clark or Bajcetic - RS either on a season long loan or outright sale, perhaps with a buy back option?
Or it could just be that Sociedad want to have brought in a player before letting Zubimendi go - who knows?

Carvalho played as a false 9 in the pre-seasonfriendly against Preston. If he stays at Liverpool I would see him as an alternative to Nunez when Slot wants to tweak the playing style.
The reason LFC have trouble moving players on is that this is a high end luxury store and not many can afford to shop there. By that I mean players are priced accordingly and most players either want to stay and fight for a place or don't want to accept a wage cut.

A Chelsea supporting friend of mine is a big fan of Chalobah and can't understand why he doesn't feature more.
Given his age, pace and strength he looks to be a very good prospect. Whilst no one would be shouting from the rooftops if he was bought, he ticks a lot of boxes.

A Chelsea supporting friend told me that Olise's family who represent him speak to Chelsea reps on a regular basis. Chelsea were informed of his release clause and we're going to trigger it. However the clause was for UCL Qualifiers hence the Chelsea offer was deemed too low. Olise has now signed a new contract which I suspect now includes a Change to the release clause. I would expect Olise to return to Chelsea within 2 years.
{Ed002's Note - He was teasing you. It is true his family speak with Chelsea regularly - there is a reason for that. The issue was over a third-party representing the player who told Manchester City and Chelsea about the two different release clauses and the details of them.}

The schedule for the UCL fixtures won't be set until Saturday.
So we probably won't be playing Real Madrid first up.

In answer to MK, the last superstars LFC bought were Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres who were both established World Stars.

Is this your first transfer window, Snoots? There will be plenty of 'big money's transfers in the next six days. Whether they involve LFC is another debate - if the money is right, teams will sell.

22 years and counting since the last transfer between the two teams, the longest in history, so. You could say a transfer either way is due.
