Marshmallow reminds me of Karius, just doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever.

Not sure which keeper would look good when they have Konate and VVD looking like they did tonight, they were shocking.

10 Mar 2026 19:58:16
You have embarrassed yourself he was our best player

10 Mar 2026 18:18:22
30 minutes gone. Awful from Liverpool. Unrecognisable from last season.

We’ve started with pace and pressing, has slot been replaced?
Is it Scooby Doo like scenario where Alonso is under the mask?

Sorry my mistake, it's back to normal.

No Gackpo starting.
Buckling to my seat. This is going to be a stuff of dreams tonight.

10 Mar 2026 18:36:56
It hasn't been.

10 Mar 2026 18:39:01
No, we still bad as ever.

10 Mar 2026 18:39:43
I think we're missing Gakpo.

Noone is missing Gakpo.

06 Mar 2026 23:45:14
Think we the basics right tonight, put them on the back foot from the off, played the game in their half. That's what we should have done on Tuesday. Same again please against Spurs.

I think we will lose this tie 5-2 on aggregate. Gala did a job on Juv in the home leg last round, and will do the same to us. 4-1 to them tonight, with a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

10 Mar 2026 13:40:46
I bet you've got your fingers crossed for that too, Kim.

10 Mar 2026 16:38:04
I wonder if Kim realizes the Og post has nothing to do with tonight's game?

10 Mar 2026 16:42:50
Draw tonight, comfortable win at Anfield.

10 Mar 2026 16:54:36
Don't think so, @JLC, but I figured that I'd just run with it.

06 Mar 2026 22:23:56
That's it, no more excuses from Slot apologist. Rio just undoubtedly proved that he should be starting over Gakpo. Something those of us that recognise his talent have been calling for literally all season. He's exactly what we're missing going forward. Slot, in the post-match interview when asked about Rio, made a shocking attempt to play down his performance.

Disgraceful in my opinion; his man management really is non-existent. The kid was literally the best player on the pitch, unlucky not to get a couple of goals, won man of the match and still Slot can't give him the recognition he deserves.

The press conference is called keeping him grounded.

Managers literally do this all the time.

Rio was fantastic last night, and all the same, fans drooling and posting things like above will quickly chuck him in the bin if he goes 10 games without a game contribution.

You can't call vindication off the back of one performance.

Until his recent 2 cameos, all of his other performances have been miles off the required standard to start.

I hope he gets more opportunities to start after that performance, but let's not use last night as yet another stick to beat Slot with. It's tedious.

07 Mar 2026 10:39:13
I agree, Cotg! It's nonsense. Rio was shocking on Tuesday, f.eks, kept giving the ball away! I want Slot gone, but 90% of the tripe people write about Slot is absolute horse rubbish, mate.

09 Mar 2026 11:42:33
I didn't see the game on Friday, but I have watched it since, expecting to see Rio having a great game after him getting MOTM.

He was nowhere near the best player on the pitch. Flashy, maybe; full of step overs, but he always made the wrong decision with the ball, as young players tend to do. That game showed me he's just not ready yet.

Chewy, you do make me laugh, though. 'Those of us that recognise his talent' lol! I think we all, including Arne Slot, recognise his talent; the question is, when is the best time to introduce him as a starting left winger, week in, week out?

For me, this game just proved yet again that it's not his time yet.

He can come on and make a difference with his direct running and even start the odd game here and there, but it's likely he will get pelters from our 'fans' if we try to rely on him too much and he doesn't produce. At his age, he's not old enough to deal with that, and it could ruin him.

Robbo was MOTM, by the way. Easily our best player on the night.

06 Mar 2026 21:30:09
There can be no complaints with slot if we get injuries.
We're 2-0 up, we should be putting on any squad players we can, resting anyone that's played 5 in a row, instead resting Rio? He can manage one 90 minute game surely.
Put on Nyoni, any youngster you can find.

06 Mar 2026 21:34:22
Yes exactly.

06 Mar 2026 21:35:46
😂 The negativity around this whole chat amazes me, it really does.

06 Mar 2026 21:46:31
Wirtz on - missed a number of games so could do with the minutes given he is 1st team.

Frimpong on - long time out can do with the minutes given he is first team.

Nyoni on - VVD off.

Morrison on - Gakpo off.

Salah off.

It's like Slot has seen the comments and given you everything you wanted, and still people aren't happy.

06 Mar 2026 21:51:01
Yeah RedQ, I'm sure that 5 mins of rest will help them recover before CL in a few days.

06 Mar 2026 21:52:12
I'm happy with that, Red Q.

06 Mar 2026 21:59:49
We get you don't like Slot, Dean.

Sometimes you're allowed to enjoy the game, rather than seeking out a reason to be annoyed.

If we went out, I'm sure you'd be the first to be bashing him on here. It just amazes me, looking at the chat and watching people jump from reason to reason, to not enjoy the fact we won.

I am not particularly a fan of Slot or the tactics, but ultimately I want the team to win.

We have, and I am smiling rather than clutching at reasons to moan about the team and management.

I am sure, with the sports scientists in today's day and age, the coaching team might just have a better insight into who should and shouldn't be on the pitch, fitness-wise, than a couple of blokes having a beer watching on the telly. (Myself included in that statement).

06 Mar 2026 22:08:07
I don't like Slot, but I don't write on here unless I see something particular that annoys me. And this is one. This is the worst side in the Prem, and we can't rest anyone from our currently fit starters?

A win's a win, but it's still a pretty middling performance, that first half was dismal. I'll take it, but it's what follows that matters.

06 Mar 2026 22:28:35
Happy to agree to disagree, Dean.

Completely agree, the performance is far from perfect. However, it is a team we just lost to in the league. The league campaign is out the window; going for the achievements available to us, in the form of the cups left, is making the best of a poor season.

Again, agreed, we need to up the performances going forward, and going on a run of decent performances and results is a must.

06 Mar 2026 22:40:05
Being critical is not saying you're not supporting the team. We all want the team to win, but we all have our views; maybe some don't agree, some do. Yes, we won. The second half was much better. I'm just saying how I feel, be it right or wrong.

06 Mar 2026 22:48:47
The beauty of the site, Hampo.

Many will say I am wrong, a lot fewer will likely say you are. 😂

We live to fight another day (maybe not as intensely as most would like) in the FA Cup at least.

We all know Slot and his tactics are in for the rest of the season. As such we need to somehow find a way to get behind the team until the summer.

06 Mar 2026 22:53:34
Agreed.

06 Mar 2026 20:57:58
LFC playing with 9 men and 1 is upfront in Rio

Gakpo and Salah not forcing themselves enough to get more involved.

06 Mar 2026 20:46:26
Nice to see we have changed it up and tried something new lol.

Bearing the first man on a corner would be new.
