With Liverpool continuously being linked to left wingers and Slot liking his wingers to be wide and chance creators more than goalscorers.

Is there a possibility that Diaz may actually be the right winger we're seemingly desperate for?

He could be perfect there with his ability to beat a man and would help his worst ability (end product) by asking him just to use his pace and skill to get to the byline and look for cut backs.

{Ed002's Note - No, he wants out and may have already burned his bridges unless a deal can be struck for a part exchange with Raphinha or Barcelona cannot sell Raphinha elsewhere.}

Thanks Ed, tactically I thought it could've been an option.

Didn't realise he was so far removed, appreciate the insight.

Ed, can I ask . If a part exchange deal can be agreed with Barcelona. Will it be Liverpool or Barcelona who would have to pay the additional money or would they both be valued at similar prices.

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona would have to add some funds or otherwise sweeten the deal.}

Forgive my ignorance Mr Ed002 but would it possible for Diaz and Raphinha to be both sent on loans to Barcelona/ Liverpool with options to buy included giving both clubs a solution without having to decide to pay immediately.

{Ed002's Note - Neither club would be likely to accept it as they are happy to see the players move on and don't want them back.}

To be honest I think Gakpo should be our left winger regardless of who comes and goes and I'm hoping Slot does too.

Not MOTD fever either by the way, it's always been my opinion and I feel we would get more output from him than others given the chance to make the position his own.

@GBB86 - I think you're right, but we all also forget that Jota is quite capable of doing a great job on this side. Gakpo and Jota could work in a fluid formation switching roles. The fact is also that Darwin favours the left side so can add to that fluidity but it does show that we don't have a similar maturity in the depth on the right depending how Slot decides to utilise Carvalho and Doak as Slot has a great reputation for improving the game and ability of young players. IMHO both would be capable of playing on the right in a fluid system with Mo and Harvey moving between the middle and the right-hand side. Our focus has to be a new keeper and possibly two defenders. but the Gordon contact has totally thrown me.

Jota from the left is also very effective you're correct but I feel he is better utilised through the middle but an interchangeable front 3 is a must in modern system and I think we have the players to enable us to do this.

Another left footer is definitely what I think we need unless the creative and goalscoring dynamic of the team is to change, which it's likely to do under new stewardship but I guess we will have to wait and see.

If it were my choice I’d play Jota centrally - he seems to be a more instinctive / clinical finisher than Nunez. Assuming Diaz is leaving I’d put Gakpo ahead of Nunez on the left too. The front three for me would be Gakpo, Jota and Salah unless we spend big on a right sided player.

Diaz the perfect winger… his end product is bang average unfortunately. Having gone from Mane to Diaz in the front three has been a crushing disappointment.

Not sure about Raphinha I read his attitude is appalling and not a team player.

Great Diaz fan personally!

Hi Ed2, would you think that due to our recent interest in Gordon this could be a player Slot asked them to sign or is this likely a decision made by Edwards et al?

{Ed002's Note - I dont know - personally surprised, Crysencio Summerville seemed a more likely option for Slot.}

Evening ed002 -, just picking up on your comment regarding Diaz maybe burning his bridges with the club, has it really turned that sour?

Cheers
Drogie.

{Ed002's Note - Drogie - clubs always get miffed with players and their agents publically speaking about other options}

Raphina is bang average and Barcelona want rid after speaks volumes. Hopefully we don't near him.
