I'm doing stadium tour with my son this week I get in at Liverpool lime Street. What is the best way to get to the ground as I've tried booking Uber and they want 60 pound. Apologies if this post is not suitable to post here but Google keeps sending me to European taxi companies.

{Ed001's Note - it is within walking distance. I have walked from town a few times. Or catch a bus to County Road and ask the way from there.}

Get the 17 bus from Queen Square it will drop you right outside the ground.

£60?! It’ll be a fraction of that in a black cab mate, that’s f&?! ing outrageous!

A black cab should be no more than 10 - 12 pounds. Alternatively 17 bus to Fazakerley takes you to the ground and the 14 bus to Croxteth will take you to Breck Rd which is a couple of hundred yards from ground. I would suggest the easiest solution is cab to get there (as you will probably be forking out £4 or more bus) and getting a bus back into town.

It's just over a 2 mile walk, Chris. Like as been said £60 is worthy of a custodial sentence and needs reporting to the local sheriff. Walk, if you're up to it, 17 bus, or a black cab, like fellow reds suggest.

Get the shuttle bus from queen square on the way there, it's much easier to walk back because its obvious where you're going, straight down Great Homer Street. Depending how old your lad is you could both grab a voi scooter instead.

Not sure if my reply went through but definitely don't pay £60. That's a joke and should be reported. Anyway I was saying there are 2 black cab stands at lime St Station and should cost no more than £10. But the bus stops at queens Square which you can see from the steps at lime St will get you right to the ground. There's the mersey travel advice centre there to if you find the timetables confusing and that is right by the liverpool club shop.

If Ed001 can walk it, you'll be fine Chris. He's built like Jan Molby.

Last minute Uber much cheaper than pre booking. I'd get to the station and see what the Uber price is then. It'll be considerably less than 60 quid. I'll say around a tenner.

Easy to walk it to be fair. done it many times. Get the bus just opposite train station to ground for match usually then walk back to lime Street. Mad busy after matches.
Actually can park at ground for stadium tour depending on day.
Enjoy pal.

Be aware Chris if you decide to walk it, it’s not that far but it’s pretty much uphill all the way. I don’t know what your physical state is but my mum refuses to do it these days, moans the whole way, lol.
I’ve got a cab loads of times and the most I’ve ever paid is £15.
You’ll be fine mate have a great time and give old big ears a kiss from me!

Thank you very much everyone, i really appreciate the advice
If the weather is ok ill just walk if not ill get a black cab which seems the easiest option. Once again thank you very much my sons first time seeing the ground and he's going to love it.
