If Nagelsmann watched any of the last few home games he's seen exactly what they need to do to progress through to next stage.
I am worried but will still have my lucky top and watch on for the match.
I don't understand people who turn off t. v if and when things look grim during matches, they are the fools that probably missed the 2nd half in Istanbul!

In fairness the Fulham game followed the same pattern as the Everton game, the Chelsea game, the Southampton game, the Burnley game, Leicester game in that as soon as we conceded there was only one result that was going to happen. There is a very predictable pattern at the moment that if we concede first we’re going to lose and if by some fluke we do score, we’re not going to score a second.

Aside from Man City all of our defeats have been narrow in close fought games. The City result was all down to Alisson's capitulation as well or that would've been another narrow loss or even a draw. Everton you can't even consider their 2nd goal as it was never a penalty. We're still very hard to score against. Nobody is really blowing us away. Leipzig can't afford to sit back and nick one on the break. They need 3 goals to win. For once, we can sit off the opposition and play on the counter. I don't see us losing the tie, even if we lose the 2nd leg. Fingers crossed anyway.

If I was Nagelsmann, I would give the following instructions. When they pass the ball out to their fullbacks ( which they do all the time, with no plan B), then just get into the box. Don't worry about their midfield at that time, because they never help out with goals. When you then get the ball, hoof it long Down Trent's side, because he just cannot defend. Get an early goal, and they will panic, and just hoof it anywhere.

MK - if we don't score they only need 2 goals to win as they will be the 'away' side.

I am very confident that we will get through this tie.
Klopp rested players that needed a rest and gave minutes to a returning player that needed minutes.
We do not need to score, RBL will struggle to contain our counter attack with Salah Mane and Jota running at them.
People have been shouting for Klopp to play centre halfs at centre half, but I think that we saw on Sunday that they are not good enough Fabinho will play centre half.

KBL, surely they need more than 2 goals as we scored 2 away goals too? Wouldn't a 2-0 RBL win mean extra time?

You are correct Zed. Think KBL is confused.

I think we give away soft goals too easily MK, we make it too easy for attacking teams to have chances and then they don’t have to do any more than sit back as we create nothing.

My confidence, just like the team is shot to pieces. If RBL get the first goal I can see Liverpool falling apart. The run of defeats will play its part. 2-0 is far beyond RBL and an extra time goal. I only hope somehow we actually score first.

It’s mad how some fans can’t grasp the away goal rule still 😂 I think we’ll go through easily to be honest. Very confident, there’s just more effort from the team in Europe. Aslong as there’s No mistakes we’ll be sweet.

Close fought or not, we are losing nonetheless and never look like coming back into games after conceding, so it means very little if they’re close fought, if we go behind, RBL have a real chance of winning, history cliches is just more burying head in sand. For me, the ‘close’ nature of the games exposes the fact that we are struggling more in attack rather than defence where all our major injuries are. RBL will not follow the same game plan people think that we are struggling against at the minute because they need the goals and this is a knockout tie, so that SHOULD fall in our favour, but I emphasise the word should because ‘should’ hasn’t been happening recently. We aren’t just struggling against one type of set up either, it’s pretty much anything we’re up against which to me is more damning on the players than klopp but maybe his consistent use of the same system and inevitably same strategic preparation for games (even though it’s against different opposition) is an even bigger issue.

{Ed0666's Note - losing against RBL is a real possibility and I’m unfortunately If it does happen I won’t be surprised. Our confidence is shot to bits at the moment and it will take some time to rebuild it or a fantastic win/team performance will get us most of the way there.

I think we will be alright but it surely wouldn’t surprise anybody if we went out. We though do have a few more options in the squad now which will help. Against Wolves I will be a lot less confident.

We will beat them stop worrying.

I think there are a lot of very overly optimistic fans on here. yeah sure we might beat RBL, more due to the fact we have a two goal cushion, but remember, we didn’t outplay them in the last game, they made two silly defensive mistakes which allowed us to score. Had their finishing been better, they could easily have beaten us. Plus even if we do get past them, do you honestly think that that is going to change anything? We beat them in the away game and yet literally every epl club is queuing up to play us because it’s an ear 3 points to them. We beat Spurs and then West Ham and you’d think we should have got some of our confidence back after winning two games on the trot, and we did play well too, but nope, it hasn’t helped one damn bit. The fact is this season is a write-off, not because of the C.V., but because we just haven’t been good enough. I believe that Next season will be good for us with no European football, meaning less games, and we will have a injured players back. Does that mean we will play any better? The likelihood is that we won’t. We have been underperforming since we won the league so I don’t believe that having VVD and Gomez back will make us title contenders straight away. Yes they will improve the team but other teams around us have got stronger, both player-wise and mental fortitude. And without being in European competition next year, the likelihood of attracting top players is going to be slim. I think the issue here is that we have been found out tactically. We play a very high defensive line, despite not having players of the required Calibre in those positions to play such a high line, and all other teams do is hoof the ball over the top and with so much space behind our defence for opposition forwards to run into, it’s likely they will score. Playing players out of position is also contributing to the overall
Imbalance within the team. Klopp needs to change his tactics but at the moment, he’s just sticking to what he knows stubbornly, with the only changes being in man power, even though some of these players just aren’t good enough (Keita, Shaq, origi, Milner, wijnaldum, Trent, mane, firmino) . I have included Trent in that list because he has been very very poor this season, his passing and crossing has been terrible and he can’t defend to save his life, also mane and firmino have also been included because at the moment, these two players couldn’t score in a brothel, let along a goal in the premier league.

Zeddicus and MK - you are, of course, both correct. I realised soon after I posted that we'd also scored 2 'away' goals, but haven't had time to come back on to correct this until now.

MK - I'm always confused!
