Bielsa being linked with us.
Interesting.

The metro is a disaster of a rag . As accurate as a blind darts player

2.) 28 Apr 2015 06:58:19
Not so far fetched I think, one of the Ed's can't remember which alluded to a South American name being spoken by someone inside the club. Bielsa is South American.

3.) 28 Apr 2015 15:03:00
Maradonna's South American, maybe he's destined for the Kop? 30 years too late, imho

Do you know if there is any truth to the Mascherano back to Liverpool rumour Eds? Thanks.

jonnybarnes89-90

{Ed002's Note - Mascherano will certainly be available this summer and his representatives have been speaking with Napoli.}

Ed2 where are you from in the states?
What teams do you follow in American Sports? Not LFC related I know but was interested.

jonnybarnes89-90

{Ed002's Note - I was born in Bellevue (near Seattle) but lived in the San Francisco Bay area from the age of 5 or 6 until I left in 1981. I have an soft spot for the San Francisco Giants.}

Ed02. What are your thoughts on the game at the weekend? who do you see playing for Chelsea, do you think you will beat Athletico? And also where are you from in the states?

jonnybarnes89-90

{Ed002's Note - (a) I haven't had any thoughts about the game at the weekend - I rarely have thoughts about the football matches. (b) Chelsea need to beat Atletico to get to the final and I rather like the idea of an evening out in Lisbon, so I shall be hoping. (c) I was born in Bellevue, WA but moved to the San Francisco Bay area when I was about five. From 1975 until I left 1981 were spent living in Berkeley. Since then I have lived most of the time in Europe.}

Congratulations Steven Gerrard.
Totally deserved testimonial.
Thanks for the memories.
It was going to take one hell of a player to even come close to matching the affection shown by the fans to Kenny Daglish but you certainly have.
You are sat on the same sofa as Kenny Daglish in terms of legendary status fella!
Best Goal>>>>> The Olympiakos goal was special but for me the one he hit against Middlesborough was the best I have seen from DEAD HARD!
Hope you enjoy the day!

"Speaking from a position of complete ignorance"
You must obey the Eds at all times or else bad things will happen.

"Speaking from a position of complete ignorance".
I am jealous of Chelsea and every other team that has ever had success apart from Liverpool ever.

I am trying to build bridges.
Eignhorn is a MAN!!!

"speaking from a position of complete ignorance". I still think we will win the league.

I have heard words like "complete embarrassment" and "our biggest ever mistake" to describe Rodgers in the last 24-48 hrs.
I think that is a massive over reaction.
Just saying.

jonnybarnes89-90

1.) 27 Apr 2015 09:59:46
Massive over reaction, what massive over reaction?

You are quite simply being illogical

It is evident that Rodgers is out of his depth.

2.) 27 Apr 2015 10:11:06
I don't think so.
He could be sacked.
He could stay another year.
I see the arguments for both.
Is this manager really the worst mistake the club has ever made?
When you start seeing those type of posts then you have to think that is a bit over the top.

3.) 27 Apr 2015 11:00:33
He has been embarrassing though, especially in the media. And he has failed pretty much all of his objectives since he joined LFC.

4.) 27 Apr 2015 11:41:00
AG.
What was the objective last season then?

5.) 27 Apr 2015 12:48:22
His objective during his first season was finish in Top 4 - failed. In the second season, was to challenge for the title - achieved, win a trophy - failed. His objectives for this season was: Challenge for the title - failed, win a trophy - failed, a good run in the CL - failed.

So that's 5/6 failures if you are happy if that, keep up this incredible strange defense of Rodgers' failures.

6.) 27 Apr 2015 13:04:57
2nd season aim was to challenge for the league?
Really.
That was not the objective.
It was a top 4 finish.
It became an objective because the team did really well.
I am just after a bit of balance AG.
If Rodgers goes then he goes.
I am not in love with Rodgers.
But I don't think he has been awful either.

{Ed001's Note - I think people have forgotten how bad Hodgson and Souness were if they think Rodgers is our biggest mistake. Rodgers has not done well enough with the resources at his disposal, but he is not the worst we have had.}

7.) 27 Apr 2015 14:23:59
I am just as frustrated as everyone else at the way this season has gone.
I along with most people thought that this season we would at least be challenging for the league.
How wrong was I.
And even this year when we have been on the cusp of clawing back something from our terrible start we have then shot ourselves in the foot.
If Rodgers were to stay on next year that would be my biggest fear.
"Are we nearly men under this manager"?
You have to say yes at the moment.
And if he was to be sacked in the summer then that would be where I would place his time at Liverpool. Nearly.
But Hodgson was a "not even in the same stadium" manager when compared to Rodgers.
I suppose that is the feedback I am getting on this site.
There are those who think time is up for Rodgers and those who think another season is about right.
I would not even promise the whole of next season if he were to stay.
I would look at the league after 6-10 games and if we are not at the top or near the top then I would yank him out.
I can't stress enough how important I feel it is to sell everyone we don't want before buying anyone regardless of who is in charge.
We have to take stock of what we have and what the future is for players already with us before signing anyone else.
If that means we miss out on Depay then so be it.
That is why I am getting twitchy already because the rumours have started about buying players when we have about 10-13 players who we need to move on.
It is gross mismanagement.
Is that Rodger's fault?
If it is then maybe it is best he goes.
Clear the decks of the playing staff.
Clear the decks for the management? Yes if we can get Klopp and no for anyone else.
That is my position.

8.) 27 Apr 2015 14:50:34
I agree Ed, sourness was a disaster but was left with an aging squad but got shot of too many key players too quickly. He lasted 3 years in an age where managers were given far more time. Hodgson also inherited a dodgy squad but seemed to think draws were wins and losses were draws but at least we got rid fairly quickly. BR had 3 years and an awful lot of money which is why is up there in terms of disasters!

9.) 27 Apr 2015 16:03:38
jonnybarnes mate, those were his objectives and that is what the Eds have said here. I believe the eds over the media any day man.

10.) 27 Apr 2015 19:11:08
Fair play to you AG.
More power to your elbow.
My opinion is that in his first year the objective was the same as his second season.
Champions league football.
He failed first year but succeeded in year 2.
In year 3 it looks nailed on that he will fail with the same objective.
Or to put it another way, If we were in the top 4 right now then I don't think the majority of people on this site would be asking for him to go.
At the moment I think the majority do want him to go.
I understand that Rodgers himself said he would be winning the league this year.
Silly comment to make.
I don't think you can guarantee anything in this league.

Is ed002 around?
Just thought i'd post this to give you a bit of love.
Your still wanted fella.
Everyone asking for ed001.
Here is a bit of ed002 love. :)
P.S What is the likeyhood of Maureen coming to Liverpool next season?
He's crap as well.
he'd fit right in.
I am joking.

I don't think he was tried as part of a three man defense.
Maybe that would help him.

We should have taken into account more than just the player's stats.
Looking at Balotelli from a stats point of view he is not a bad signing for the price we purchased him for.
But we all know that there is so much baggage to consider other than the player's ability.
That is the point I was making in reference to Moneyball.
You don't just look at a player's price to stats ratio.
There are many more things to consider.
Why have I failed again Red?
In your world the owners don't do much.
Which begs the question "why spend so much money on buying the club in the first place if they are not going to make sure that every decision made is scrutinized from the very top down?

AG, I would never force anyone to have the same opinion mate.
I appreciate other people's viewpoints as well.
And no, I won't stop posting.
That is the easy way out isn't it.
The thought did cross my mind today though.
I simply love the site though and I love talking about Liverpool so why would I want to stop posting?

Max I see your point.
Unfortunately we are not party to why we bought the players we did.
Balotelli was always going to be a gamble given his attitude.
That gamble did not work.
His transfer smacked of the moneyball philosphy in my opinion.

jonnybarnes89-90

{Ed001's Note - how on earth is it anything to do with moneyball? That makes no sense.}
