Hey eds, just was wondering what is your take on Lovren's situation, he is left out of the squad again tonight. do you think he has been cast aside and could be moved on? Or do you feel is more down to the change of formation and he just isn't doing enough to get into the team? Or do you see him playing more next season when Can potentially moves more into a central midfield position when Gerrard leaves us? Would be curious to hear your opinion on his Liverpool future.

{Ed001's Note - he is not happy and right now it is likely he will be off in the summer. Things change though, and he has a few months to get back into the reckoning.}

He's another player we shouldn't have bought. . a one-season wonder at Southampton. The best season of an otherwise average career and we paid through the nose for him.
He'll end up going for peanuts and we'll continue to rue our treatment of better centre-halves like Kelly, Wisdom, Llori, Agger and Toure.
Southampton must get their best china out when they see us walking towards their offices. It's like our foreign aid policy.

Cheers eds, i had a feeling that this was likely where he was at. I'd love though for him to break back into the squad, same way Sakho has done, but sadly i don't think that will happen.

Would anyone want him ed? if so we would struggle to get half our money back.It's a very odd situation because he looked boss for Southampton but just looks lost in an Lpool shirt A return to Southampton seems unlikely due to the fuss he kicked up when they rejected bids from us. I just hope if Lovren were to go we would give Ilori and Wisdom a chance at the club rather than spending a lot more money on another centre back

Is the story true about Gerrard going to throttle him after one of the games? Personally I think he will be fine once he is fully settled and the pressure is off him a little next season. A bit like Hendo.

Surely we scouted him properly prior to his move and thought he had the required qualities, even if I didn't rate him I would err on trusting the club as I'm one of those who wrote off Henderson and have had to eat my words.

If it did happen there must be massive questions asked of the transfer committee. Its the scouting network that really needs an overhaul at Liverpool in my opinion. We seem to spend an awful lot of money for an small amount of improvement.

Though on the flip side I am actually quite happy with most of the business done over the summer, overpriced but some really good potential.

{Ed002's Note - The scouting set up has been overhauled.}

You'd have to question why he isn't getting another chance in the team with the new set up. Yes he was awful at the start of the season, but absolutely everyone was. I'd like to see him with Sakho on the ground with him, Lucas in front of him and a partially revitalized Mingolet giving him a little bit more direction

I don't think he was tried as part of a three man defense.
Maybe that would help him.

its kinda unfair to alienate him. when we needed a CB i would put him there ahead of Johnson to be honest.

Can you elaborate on the overhaul Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - It is as simple as staff being changed - Mel Johnson, Alan Harper and Mike McGlynn have left and others have arrived.}

How come a perfectly good player turned into a shadow of his former self after being coached by Brendan & co. What the hell did they do to him?

I think Lovren will come good when Brendan eventually deems him ready to step back into the first team. Look at the transformation Sakho has made.
