Edward, saw a thing on Rafa silva and benfica denying anything. And of coarse saw previously a while back you suggested we had a interest. We still interested there?

5ive

{Ed002's Note - It is what I said it is - there is no more.}

26 May 2016 08:59:51
Edward 1 . Are we close or at least at the table for Coric, to your knowledge?

5ive

{Ed001's Note - yes, we are trying to convince him to join us.}

1.) 26 May 2016 09:22:25
Sunday name?

{Ed001's Note - Friday's here Ronald.....}

2.) 26 May 2016 09:45:08
Any input on the player and would you say he is ready for 1st team football?

3.) 26 May 2016 09:52:52
Surely we are not struggling to convince a kid that can't hit a barn door to join us?

4.) 26 May 2016 09:43:13
Have we had a bid accepted for him Ed001 if we're talking to him?

{Ed001's Note - not yet, but the issue is not about the price or having bids accepted, it is getting him to choose us over the numerous other clubs that want him.}

5.) 26 May 2016 10:31:06
Really hope we can pull this one off, looks a class act.

6.) 26 May 2016 10:50:35
Ok Eddie-baby 😘.

{Ed001's Note - luv you too Ronnie...}

7.) 26 May 2016 13:18:50
Please don't ruin this site with your "love-ins". LOL. (Just recently we had a guy ask about the possibility of dating each other, on here. Sigh! ) .

{Ed001's Note - did we? Really? That's funny!}

8.) 26 May 2016 13:40:14
Ja Kurtz are you for real?

Coric is a serious, serious talent. He is probably on the radar of nearly every big club in European football right now. He has that much potential. I'm sure ed002 will confirm this. For all the noise that Odegaard was making I think this kid looks to have maturity beyond his years in football terms.

23 May 2016 23:18:08
Ed is Rafa silva still of interest or on way to benfica.

5ive

{Ed002's Note - Braga's Rafa Silva has been of interested to Benfica, Everton, Southampton, Wolfsburg and Schalke for a number of months. Arsenal, West Ham, Real Betis, Marseille and Spurs have had him watched but to the best of my knowledge not enquired further at this time. Notably, Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester United have watched in a number of games this season and made it known they are interested. Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica have a declared interest. Braga will be looking to a summer auction and hoping the interest from these clubs will lead them to make substantial offers.}

Barca courting coutinho. A bit obvious to say the least . He won't last long . Thank god for the transfer ban. We will have him till at least jan

I don't think many clubs if any wpuld look to buy Coutinho

2.) 08 Jun 2015 02:40:34
itll be just like us when we bought markovic, its too early. Coutinho is good, but can improve so much more.

A lot of cloak n dagger with the klopp new deal . Good p. r . When the fume from signings or lack of real decent ready names ( ready made not necessarily 50 mil pound "names ") the kloppster becomes the "most important " business of the summer.

5ive

1.) 07 Jul 2016 07:06:15
The manager is always the most important signing.

2.) 07 Jul 2016 07:41:42
At least someone has their head screwed on on here. This is exactly what it is.

3.) 07 Jul 2016 09:06:01
I'd definately say at least mane and matip are ready made, grujic is not, karius maybe. Will people ever stop moaning about signings? Just trust the man for gods sake.

{Ed002's Note - Gujic will be playing regularly because that is what he was promised by Klopp and if he isn't then he loses his work permit. Cannot be loaned out either.}

02 Jul 2016 09:09:27
Not Liverpool per se ....

What's the bloody scoop eds . Are we just going to sign embryos or are we going to pull a rabbit from a hat . We have the gaffer . We should back him . This is not Germany now . The prem lge is far more competitive. Just rattle of a few names for me . Stop beating the read the posts bush . Throw me a bone here!

5ive

1.) 24 May 2016 07:18:45
That's not what i was looking for eds . Go back out and come back in!

2.) 24 May 2016 10:46:20
Since you asked so nicely I'll give you the skinny as I understand it from reading this site everyday since I can remember:

Matip, Grujic - They're done. Put them in your formations for next season.

Karius - having medical. 99.9999% done. You can scratch Goalie off you list.

Chiwell - really good chance. 75%. Interest in getting a deal done certainly seems to be high and ED002 has alluded to other sides switching their attention with the impression he is anfield bound

Now to the rest:

DL: the question is will chilwell be the starting left back next season. He may well be and I certainly think he's an improvement on Moreno already. However he is young and there have been many suggestions that a more senior left back will be purchased: Jonas Hector and Kolasinac (shalke) may be the front runners if they do. Rafael Guerriero has been watched too apparently. My choice would be Hector or go with Chilwell as no.1. My preference would be to sign Hector aswell in this case and sell Moreno and Smith. Both are headless chickens to me.

CB: I think personally that this is pending the Sakho situation. If he only gets 6 mnths then I think we are covered with Sakho, Lovren, Matip, Gomez without Champions League football. If we qualify for Europe next season then I'll add another. We have Lucas and Emre Can to cover if a disaster happens. If Sakho gets a very lenghty ban (ie out for season or best part) I think we will go for a defender. The strong suggestion at the moment is Niklas Sule and I think he will be a great addition.

CM: I think we'll buy 1 CM even though personally with no Champs league football I wouldn't bother. I think its been proven that a small talented happy squad does far better than a bloated one without champs league football. I would sell Allen and Milner and think Lucas, Emre Can, Henderson in any combination is a strong enough midfield. Milner and Allen are positional nightmares which cause us most of our problems. This will also give Grujic space to grow. This could be an ideal situation to develop him. He's a real talent and we shouldn't forget him. And let's not forget we have Stewart to cover also. Against my own thoughts, we do seem to be in the market. Dahoud and Zielinksi. For me Dahoud is a lot more promising and if we have to add would be my choice.

Winger: I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. We seem looking for an AM type winger. Gotze interest certainly seems to be there but he has made comments about staying in Munich. I personally get the feeling he doesn't join. I think the Ante Corci rumours are true. Its possible he will come if first team football is promised. Issue with this is he's young and even though he's extremely talented, I'm not sure he's the type of winger we need. We've looked at Sane who is probably unrealistic and Embolo who I think is good but risky with his poor decision making. There is one player we have looked at who I would revisit if I was klopp due to not being in champions league. El Ghazi. I've watched a lot of him and I understand fully what ED002 has mentioned that the scout/ coach said he drifts out of games. He doesn't seem to demand the ball or make himself available at all times. He almost plays better coming on as a sub because he's got some sort of axe to grind. He would not have been my choice if we got champions league but without champions league he could near well be perfect. He is techincal, lightening quick, excellent shot, can head and also has decent decision making for a kid his age. With week long uninterupted training sessions Klopp could really develop this kid to be an excellent piece to the puzzle. Especially considering Klopp's main attribute as coach is to put fire in the belly which is the main thing El Ghazi is missing. Risk: yes. Reward: Worth it. He is the TYPE! of winger we need IMO.

That's my 2 pence. Now go. Enjoy your day young man.

No matter what happens I have faith in Klopp and think our done signings Matip, Grujic and Karius for relatively low fees has been excellent.

3.) 24 May 2016 09:19:12
Why not look down the page to see the names rather than annoying the eds there's a reason it goes from RTP to RTFP.

4.) 24 May 2016 09:22:20
Was hoping for more disagrees 👅👅👅.

5.) 24 May 2016 11:13:40
Chillwell is 100% unproven at this level.
Dangerous to rely on him IMO.

6.) 24 May 2016 11:44:34
Yep. Agree Ron. Hector too in my opinion. let's see how that one plays out.

7.) 24 May 2016 11:50:07
My Ins would be Karius, Matip, Sule, Hector, Grujic, El Ghazi, Chiwell

Outs: Deep Breath
Bogdan, Wisdom, Ilori, Skrtel, Toure, Jones, Moreno, Smith, Allen, Milner, Teixiera, Balotelli, Ings, Benteke, Alberto, Markovic, Enrique, Rossiter

Loans: Ibe, Brannagan and any other extras. Not Ojo though. Would like to see him in first team squad next season.

If we do end up buying Coric, Sell Lallana.

8.) 24 May 2016 19:54:58
Why would Ings be on his wayout before even kicking a ball for us?

And tbh at the start of the season milner wasnt my favourite player but i think he has been a pretty good player for us most of the games he has played recently would be good to keep him in the squad i think. Probably agree with the rest though 3 i'd possibly keep. Smith, Allen and Marko maybe but i think he wants to leave to play in Turkey.

02 Mar 2016 14:32:42
Edward (s) wil there ever be a time, where you would envisage that we would be able to buy a seasons ticket for tv . ? So you could watch your team week in week out? Or would it be detrimental to small clubs . I'd imagine clubs wit bigger fan base would gain the most?

5ive

{Ed002's Note - At some point there will certainly be a step change in the way clubs capture their media income. Two EPL clubs (Arsenal and Liverpool) have already investigated, and probably continue to investigate, the streaming type options for games. Whilst they cannot do it in real-time right now, in the future the chance may well be there to do that. Both clubs have media exploitation expertise within their existing senior management structures – but both will also be aware of the damage being done to the clubs by the illegal “free” internet providers. So in the longer term, I would think that there will be more options to watch games live – either through existing/revised media deals or through the clubs providing that service themselves. In all probability it would be far more cost effective and beneficial to do it through the likes of a television company, perhaps as a partner. Clubs on their own do not have the broadcast capabilities, nor equipment and facilities necessary to do this easily on their own and it would seem likely they would seek a media partner rather than go in to the broadcasting business. But it will happen.}

1.) 02 Mar 2016 15:15:59
I'm currently paying $89 a year to stream through the local Australian pay to online service. occasionally I get the live matches but more often than not I have to avoid any other media so I can watch it the next day. Even if they only made it $100 you'd only need 1.2 million people world wide to generate $120 mil. Even if half of that was going to the broadcast partner that's still $60mil or about half that in pounds.

Can't see it not happening soon.

{Ed002's Note - It can't happen soon because of existing contracts. The amounts of money you are mentioning is a pittance compared to what clubs get now.}

2.) 02 Mar 2016 16:37:11
Sorry ed, should have clarified. Soon as in the next 5-10 years, maybe 15 is surely realistic. Also I meant that as an above, so they might get reduced overall money in the TV deal but can make that up, if not more so through streaming arrangements.

Also forgot to mention I was thinking purely international not UK. So say there are 5 mil liverpool fans willing to pay the equivalent of 75 pounds per year to get all games live. Assuming that that was at all feasible, how much roughly would this be more/ less than what they are currently getting?

{Ed002's Note - Soon is hardly 15 years out - particular when you are my age. Ignore the money for now but it is certainly on the cards. I would also put aside any thoughts of 5 million Liverpool fans paying that sort of money. I am not going to get involved in talking about any made up numbers.}

3.) 02 Mar 2016 17:04:05
Similarly to our aussie friend, in New Zealand we have premier league pass. I think its about $150/ season and we get every single PL game live on demand, highlights package and some footy shows. Is that same as what the OP is referring to? Does this kind of service exist in UK?

4.) 02 Mar 2016 17:20:20
I hope that this is something that gets sorted soon. I watch way too many matches via these means because if I didn't, there is just no other way to see them!

5.) 02 Mar 2016 18:22:21
As an American, I do find it a bit strange that I can watch/ record literally every single PL game every weekend via my cable provider and you all in England can't as they are not all aired. Such a strange one for me.

6.) 02 Mar 2016 16:48:56
Was thinking thinking that with the relative success of the preseason tours in Asia/ oz you might be able to get close to that number. No dramas ed, thanks for your input. You lot do a great job with this site btw so cheers for that too!

{Ed002's Note - Australia is a country where LFC are popular I am not so sure it is a growth target. The club is very good at supporting the fans who support them so they won't let go K. Going forward Asia and Australia are somewhere the club will continue to support and I hop continue to visit when practical.}

7.) 03 Mar 2016 03:34:11
In Hong Kong know, my package shows EVERY SINGLE premier league game LIVE. For example at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, there are literally 5 or 6 channels broadcasting each game. I pretty much watch every liverpool game plus some other interesting match ups.

{Ed001's Note - it is the same in pretty much every country around the world, apart from Spain, other than the UK.}

8.) 03 Mar 2016 06:46:48
Sadly for me the Taiwan Broadcasting Companies have some serious issues when it comes to showing games - the Bein Sports purchase of the broadcasting rights has been a death knell to football in Taiwan as BEin sports itself has failed so negotiate a deal for it to actually become active in Taiwan. The result is literally no PL at all in Taiwan and that looks set to remain until at least the next round of talks (2017 I think? ) - if Fox Sports repurchase the rights all will be fine; if BEin win again I suspect Taiwan will not have any PL football and I'll be forced to continue to use pretty shoddy streams. I hope it gets resolved.

{Ed001's Note - that sucks mate. Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon for you.}

30 Aug 2015 20:07:54
Edward 1 . What do you make of our lack of pace offensively and the spoofer filling out midfield with utility players such as can Milner Henderson Allen and Lucas as the only dm ? Every top side in premier lge era had pace power . To boot our midfield lacks the ability to control a game as none of them are if that ilk and as I said they are utility . We lack penetration . Pardew and monk are showing him up for assembling their squads on the basics , pace out wide and variation of the midfield so as to maximise creativity and then add the hard work element . We really do look toothless and basic . There's nothing to fear from us . Rodgers imo won't last .

5ive

{Ed001's Note - I just think he lacks tactical acumen and other teams have worked him out. Even the changes he makes are just formations, not tactical. Having players like that in midfield should allow him to be tactically flexible, but they simply aren't good enough players mentally to work it out. Milner is not a captain, he leads nothing on the pitch, doesn't act like a manager on the pitch and struggles to spot where he should be running. He is little more than a headless chicken once in the centre.}

1.) 31 Aug 2015 10:58:16
A lot of the time, the players just stand about, it seems like the don't where to be. You could see that every time, Lucas for example, had the ball the players ahead didn't show up neither did they run forward, and so he ended up passing it to one of the full backs. There's no passing triangles, there's no overloading the wings, there's just nothing.

2.) 31 Aug 2015 11:09:14
I think how well Sterling is doing in Man City shows how much difference having a good coach with a clear tactical plan can improve a player's performance.

3.) 31 Aug 2015 20:21:12
Spot on Jax with your City analysis. Pellegrini has learnt after almost getting the sack at city that what he has been doing no longer works and a change is needed. His 442 no longer works and that system left his CB`s exposed each time they got outnumbered in midfield. He has switched it around to a system that not only protects the CB`s, it allows Silva to play in the hole where he is lethal and the team is not only playing well but keeping clean sheets (whis shows the diff b/w keeping clean sheets by limiting the other team`s chances and our clean sheets which rlies mainly on the other team being woeful in front of goal or the refs bailing us out). same thing Sat, he switched to a 442 when the system wasn`t working and that opened up the game and they won. BR did none of that vs WH nad the game was already lost before he did. Pello is a coach who has learnt his lessons and his team are the better for it. BR had better learn fast because this time, there will be no marsh, pascoe, Balotelli, the pitch or Studge`s injuries to blame for his failures should he not get results

sorry I disagree . I'll come back to this at the end of season . See what the appearance tally is . Hopefully he is injury free .

{Ed001's Note - what the hell has appearance tally got to do with it? The lad had a very serious injury that can end a career, he might never get back to his best. That does not mean he has no ability if he doesn't get games, it means he has been unable to recover properly. What happened to knowledgeable Liverpool fans?}
