Don't post often but a couple of points to consider re Klopps departure:
- The players have known since November so whatever impact it was going to have we have seen.
- Has this been announced in light of media about to spill the beans or is this because replacements already sorted? Hopefully the latter.
In terms of replacements are there any candidates a similar match Klopps playing style that will slide in and is that the way to go? Does Xabi fit the bill here I don't know.
And of course Klopp has been nothing short of remarkable in his time with Liverpool. Have a well deserved break and please don't return to the Premier league unless its with us!

Dominik Szoboszlai. I'm getting excited perhaps too soon, but for me we have found a worthy replacement of our last number 8 and much like him seems to have a bit of everything in his locker and dare I say a more refined version of Stevie G. I wonder if he might even be club captain material in the future.
The astute will note I am bypassing Keita in this convo for obvious reasons.

Seydou Keita, very good squad player for Barcelona under Guardiola. Not familiar with any other Keitas I'm afraid.

He's played two games, he does look good but can we really judge him on that?
I'd also like to see him have a go in the front three. I'd think about letting one of the forwards go and bring in another midfielder and a centre half.

Rigsby, I see no problem in judging just two games, because that's what it is - you are judging just the two games. It can go up or it can go down from here. Nobody has said he's Kevin DeBruyne already. But I think we're allowed to say that (as I feel) he can achieve DeBruyne levels in two years time; with continued progression, more EPL experience and freedom from injury (fingers crossed) .
And you're right about being in the front 3. If for whatever reason Salah is not available (injury, suspension or whatever) I would have no qualms in slotting him in Salah's place. Different kind of player from Salah no doubt, but he can do well there. Doak, a fantastic talent, needs far more time to sort out his end product issues.

Hey all,
Long time lurker and reader Higgins or Jan Molby I believe I went by. Last posted regularly back in Macca's days (welcome back too) . Recognise a few I chatted to in Ron K and East Midlands Red (now MK Red or similar) . You were either from or knew of Rothwell my home town.
Anyway the phrase transition season is often thrown around. But if I saw one I have to think this is one for Liverpool. Especially if Hendo and Fab go. I see a lot of talk about challenging for titles or top 4. Whilst I would love that I think with an almost complete swap out and overhaul in midfield we will do well to perform as well as last season, with a slow start and picking up as players adapt (fingers crossed they do) . Will be a challenge for all the new lads and management to get them playing the system correctly. Klopp will definitely have done well.
Well that's my pre coffee thoughts on this Monday morning have a great day all and hell why not have a great week!

I do indeed know Rothwell. I actually tore my ankle ligaments way back when i was 20 years old in a game against Desborough and Rothwell FC, on their god awful astro turf pitch!
