Hope this is ok Ed’s on the 17th of August I’m playing in charity match to raise money for the still birth and neonatal deaths charity at Eastbourne boroughs ground priory lane.
Entry is free but buckets going round for donations. There’s a raffle with some great prizes. The football may not be the greatest standard but the amusing sight of a bunch of middle aged puffing round a pitch could be very entertaining! So if you fancy kick off is at 1.15 cheers!

A cause that helps with a tragedy that affects more people than you think. My wife and I lost a baby, our first- a boy, at nearly full term. Only time that I’ve been in a dark place, I’ll see if I can pop down and support.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 19:38:45
Hey Bob how you coping hope you've had good support around you.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 10:21:01
Good luck to you all. Hope people donate and you raise as much as possible.

Just some thoughts
1) Brighton might still do us a favour as crap as they have been there is going to be a lot of players with one eye on a new manager coming ina or trying to get a move. With the pressure off they may actually play better look have Fulham have done since being relegated.
2) one of the Ed’s said earlier that we have so much lunch it almost feels like fate.
3) is like to see another experienced player come in some one who’s won quite few leagues if Milner goes I think it’s especially important as we have so few players that have done that I really think it’s helps to have these people around to help push us over the line.
Have a good bank holiday people.

How did you know I had so much for lunch?!?

Are you watching me, or does word travel fast?

2.) 05 May 2019 11:28:08
Must have been a typo for number 2.

“So much lunch it always feels like fat”

You’re making a meal out of it!

Anything can happen mate who knows. I don't believe the excessive luck thing though, we've been beaten once that's not luck it's class. Milners come off the bench a few times this season and settled the team, I'd be making him do another year.

5.) 05 May 2019 11:55:00
True, LiverpoolFC8. What a footballer Milner is, what a character!

6.) 05 May 2019 11:59:09
Are Brighton changing managers?

Shame Chris Hughton is one of my favourite managers.

7.) 05 May 2019 12:35:29
Ron, Brighton are shocking to watch under Hughton.
I like the guy too, but they’re as boring as one of Redwolf’s GoT motivational speeches lol.

8.) 05 May 2019 13:57:47
Hahaha Juicer.

9.) 05 May 2019 14:03:32
He is keeping Brighton in the PL, punching well above their weight in my opinion. Chris Hughton is doing well for me.

10.) 05 May 2019 16:11:57
Now I know Manchester United are not very good but before today’s game they still had a chance of CL football next season. Huddersfield, who had absolutely nothing but pride to play for and do not have a single player of PL standard, put in a great shift and got a draw. No reason why Brighton cannot do the same against Manchester City.

{Ed025's Note - there is a world of difference between the 2 manchester teams WW..

11.) 05 May 2019 16:41:27
Ed025, there is indeed a world of difference between United and City - and 26 points - but my point is that if an inferior team, even with nothing to play for but professional pride, puts up a real fight against a superior team instead of rolling over to have its tummy tickled, it can pull off an unexpected result. Why, Everton actually got a draw against Liverpool this season!

{Ed025's Note - cheeky sod....it was more a case of united not being good enough than huddersfield playing well WW, city wont let that happen im afraid mate..

12.) 05 May 2019 16:46:15
Not officially Ron but I live in sussex and have a few season ticket holders working for me and they’re really don’t think Hughton is up to it the owner although supportive wants to establish Brighton a pl club the framework is there. Not a typo in sight!

Haven’t posted for a looong time but last nights game needs some commentary. The literal difference between us and Barcelona was Messi let’s face it we didn’t field our first eleven and we were a near match for them at camp nou every one of there players has vast champions league experience ours for the most part were playing only their second season in it also they’d been able rest key players we’ve had to keep pushing ours. I think if Firmino had been fit TAA played or Gomez had a few more games under his belt I think we could have scored the chances were ther unfortunately they fell to Milner! (Not knocking him just he’s not prolific is he! ) not saying we’d have won but the score would have been different anyway Allez allez bring Anfield and its crushing atmosphere let’s just give a game they’ll never forget l!

Alberr, this is the first game I have seen Barcelona play in the CL since 2013 when they got drilled by Bayern in 2013 at the Nou Camp, where Barcelona were dominated in a home CL game. Liverpool played a near blinder and Klopp deserves credit for this overall. I know may are saying had this player or that player played, things could have changed.

Personally, I am not interested in such irrelevant stuff cos we have the benefit of hindsight while a manager makes decisions in real time in under real circumstances where you prepare fully with the information you have w/ o the benefit of hindsight. Maybe the Gini at CF otion did not work BUT on the flip side we dominated and created enuff chances to score kind of proves that it DID work.

Klopp and the staff prepared the perfect game plan to shut Messi down and put Barcelona under immense pressure and dominated them. The chances we created were enough to score at least 2 goals. We did not take those chances and the mistakes from VVD did not help BUT either way, we dust ourselves down and go again cos like it or not, we STILL have a PL title to win. YNWA!

2.) 02 May 2019 19:28:21
RedWolf, I’m with you all the way. Last week you were compiling a list of the quitters. Please expand it to include the whiners. Come on you mighty Reds!

3.) 02 May 2019 19:28:38
“Klopp and the staff prepared the perfect game plan to shut Messi down and put Barcelona under immense pressure”

I just don’t get that at all. That quote is up there with “we can’t play better” and “best away performance in the CL for 2 years”

Just baffling. The perfect game plan to shut Messi down? He scored 2 goals, could easily have been a hat-trick.

4.) 02 May 2019 19:50:59
Hi gang,
Haven’t posted for a while.
Now that the dust has settled we can now start getting some perspective on last nights performance, overall we could not of ask for anymore from our team.
Apart from a goal. we took the game to them and had really good chances to score hence the reason why MESSI and SUAREZ we’re getting riled, they could see that we were in the ascendancy.
If RON KEAGUE is going the game next week I’d hate to be sitting next to him with all that negativity. we as fans need to be positive the club needs us more than anything, we need to get in the ground early to get the atmosphere crackling.

Also would be interested in people’s opinions on SUAREZ and COUTINHO’S return to ANFIELD.
My opinion is we should ignore them and channel all our energies towards the team.

5.) 02 May 2019 20:18:54
Ron is typically a positive guy, but he's right. If you lose 3-0, your gameplan and gameplay are far from perfect or right. Don't think the team selection was right, mane had a field day down the left but had minimal support centrally with wiji as the false 9. Defense wasn't up to par, and finishing was poor.

I support the reds through anything but let's take off the red tinted glasses and stop acting like that result is anything worth celebrating or praising.

With that being said, we have the talent and fight to make a game out of it in the second leg, with Firmino back we could very well put Barcelona under a lot of pressure and make things interesting. I believe that this team can do it.

6.) 02 May 2019 22:03:39
Ron, put your manager hat on and allow me to help you with what game preparation pertains to. In any sport when you are preparing for a game, you prepare based on probability and tendencies, NOT on certainty. To get the best information on how to counter at team, you watch as many games as possible of your opponent preferably vs teams that play near the same scheme you play. After that, you prepare the team based on as much info as possible.

You may not know this BUT you CANNOT prepare against making mistakes OR not taking your chances. There is NO game plan to counter that occurrence as it is happening right in front of you. This is why punditry is easy cos a pundit has the luxury to give opinions after a game is played WHEREAS a manager as mentioned above, deals with things in true reality AND in real time.

How was Klopp supposed to have a plan in place to counter act VVD having his worst game of the season? How was he to counter act the fact that Salah would hit the post with his right foot or that Milner would shoot right at Ter Stegen instead of either side of him? Exactly. And yes, Klopp showed that you can shut down Barcelona and still create chances to score and had we taken our chances, that would be the narrative so Ron YES, Klopp's plan WORKED. It was the inf=dividual mistakes that cost us. Two things can be correct at the same time. It's called nuance.

You may be frustrated at the result and blowing off steam hence, trying to look for someone to blame for IMO, no apparent reason BUT the game simply boiled down to this: Barcelona took their chances. We didn't. Barcelona punished our mistakes. We did not punish theirs. End of story.

7.) 02 May 2019 22:13:39
Klopp’s plan worked but we lost 3-0.

Is there any point in turning up for the second leg then?

This is what you and Klopp claim:
•Our best away performance for 2 years in the CL
•We can’t play any better
•Klopp’s plan worked perfectly.

Seriously mate? 🤨.

8.) 02 May 2019 22:23:37
Are you seriously suggesting we wouldn’t have created chances with our usual team out Redwolf?

9.) 02 May 2019 22:40:35
Ron, I don't recall standing next to Klopp and claiming all the stuff you say I claimed along with Klopp. Either way, we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one and I'm cool with that. Keep the faith and don't get too down on things as it seems you are too bummed out. Peace!

10.) 03 May 2019 00:14:33
Got to agree with Ron. I didn't see us dominate Barcelona at all. The stats might have showed we had more possession but their passing was slicker, their defending was more urgent, they gave the ball away less and they scored three goals to boot.
If we can't play better than that we deserve to go out becaause Barcelona can, and did, play better.
