One thing ticked off - UCL is a cert next season.

It’s not the Premiership, but puts us in the best place to attract the players to win it next season 👍.

Im going to get pelters for saying this, but im not arsed about watching the remaining 3 games. Not even the last game for JK at Anfield. As there's nowt riding on these games now it's all very flat.

We will finish top 4, probably 3rd maybe 4th if the last 3 games go badly. So CL football will be back next season and we've won the league Cup.

I think the timing of the announcement was a mistake, unless there was real concern of a big leak its not done anything other than distract I don't think. And to have a 10 minuet video was all very Hollywood and perhaps for the benefit of the up coming documentary. I don't recall SAF doing that at United or Jose at Chelsea after winning far more than JK has. It just smacked of a show and for me has really detracted from the end of the season. Its something that could have been done now and not had this prolonged good bye feel to it.

The fact that 8 weeks ago we were on for a quadruple and that has collapsed in to nothing hasn't helped. Well I say nothing that's harsh, after last season and the departures we had, the players that turned us down and the players we got in if you would have said. 3 rd place and the league Cup im sure we would have taken it. But its all very flat and im not sure it will get better. Its a case of thanks for the memories JK.

I've had 3 months to get used to it and im a bit meh about it all now and just looking foward to seeing what Slot brings. Season can't finish fast enough for me, its been a horrible end . Not fussed about the bore fest that will be the Euros with England playing Southgateball, so roll no next season.

Anyone buying the new jersey sign up with Nike and you'll get 25% off. I think the offer ends tomorrow.

Great tip Endo3 I went and had a look but once I seen that home kit I was put off. Ugly is the word looks like it was designed by the makers of etch a sketch. Would not pay £25 for that travesty. So happy we are going back to adidas.

Always preferred Adidas myself. Always do good shirts.

I'll be honest I don't really care if Slot plays possession football or uses inverted full backs. If that is what he specialises in then I 100% want him to bring that style to the club with him.

Alan Sugar always says (every year) on the Apprentice, do what you know. It applies to every profession and every walk of life. If you focus on what you are good at you will succeed. Where I think it went wrong for Klopp was when he watered down the gegenpressing tactics with hybrid possession styles he either didn't know how to coach (making him too reliant on Lijnders input) or that he maybe even didn't truly believe in. Who knows, but that is where the progression halted for me.

People can call City boring but winning 2 or 3 trophies a year? I'll take watching boring 3 or 4 nil wins every weekend if it brings silverware. As long as Slot stays true to his philosophy I will be happy. If his tactics mean Trent will continue to invert or we'll persist with a slower build up, then that's absolutely fine as long as that is Slot's philosophy and what he specialises in setting his team up to do. Do what you know.

That style has thwarted this team. I will cry if i see us continue with inverted fullbacks especially trent. This is why i liked the idea ir amorim. Actual WIDTH. Trent is terrible through the middle. His best football is on the right and we need width back. How depressing.

The last thing Slot needs to do is come in and try and be Klopp. Needs to be his own man as long as he games and silverware he can do it how he likes.

02 May 2024 09:21:55
The difference is City have the money to buy so many world class/ excellent players. I don't think replicating their tactics is going to automatically bring success.

MIZER, Man City play with width though and they invert the full backs. They do it by asking guys like Doku, Grealish etc to hug the touchline.

The problem is that we've not implemented the tactics correctly and we've not bought the right players consistently to play that way. Slot knows how to get his system to work, so he should stick to his beliefs regardless of what us fans say. We'll all be silenced if success follows.

Two questions for Ed1 or Ed2, whoever wants to answer it. So the Premier League clubs have voted in favour of these new spending rules, which I'm not at all surprised by. As it might legitimately be the only way to stop City from winning the next what 20 titles or so.

My question is 1) with english clubs being limited in general spending, which I assume include player wages as well, doesn't this just lead to the Premier League falling behind the leagues with more economical power?

Which leads to 2) with City and Utd (and Villa) voting against the rule, and with question 1 in mind, do you think this might be the catalyst that ends Premier League (as we know it) and pushes the Super league closer to being a reality? Even if other clubs voted in favour of the new spending rules, I could see some of them turning their back on this new Premier League format if the Super League becomes an option.

{Ed002's Note - (1) Other leagues already have restrictions. (2) No, it has nothing to do with the Super League and is not something that will end the Premier League. It is one of a number of changes that are coming.}

Even though I agree it's time to sell salah . part of me will be heartbreaking to not have him in the squad. As he as been a outstanding player over the years for us and scored some incredible and so important goals be hard to take not seeing him in our squad. ynwa salah.
