Away form agains't the better sides concerns me
Spurs we Won but they had a lot of issues at the time.
Arsenal draw
Chelsea draw
Utd draw
City lost
CL 3 games lost them all (one agains't a really average side) . Everton will play very defensive and it will be difficult to break them down. First goal is massive.

Those poor results show how well we have done at home and in our other away matches. IMO we have to win on Sunday anything else will be points dropped. I hope Klopp doesn't go negative with Fabs, Gini, Hendo it would be a mistake. It means we would be totally reliant on the full backs for creativity, while also needing Robbo and Trent to be solid in the back 4.

Everton aren't built to play defensively, and it's a derby, they'll need to show something as an attacking force, and we'll pick them off.

You lost me at ‘away form against the better sides’. Make no mistake, Everton will try come hard at us, and in a competitive derby form can go out the window, but they’re nothing like those teams and quality is not the issue.

The main risk is the first 20-30mins when they’ll be all guns blazing and I think that might well be the exact midfield he goes for to ensure we take the sting out of the game. I personally hope he plays Keita in there though.

Are Everton one of the better sides?

they would be next on the list of our hardest away games. They will play defensive 100% and if we have that midfield I am not sure we will beat them. Everton played well an Anfield probably deserved a draw. I hope Keita plays.

Don't be arrogant or dismissive of Everton it might come back and bite you.

Another excellent post there Mark! Piching all the areas of concern! Most of our loses came when we played pragmatic beauty. I assume that’s now changed and we are going to press them and when you press they make mistakes and that results in turnover of possession.
TAA, Fabinho and Wijnaldum must start else it’s a draw!

Under estimate any Team in the Premier at your Peril. I won't be. (have had to put that as Mrs 007 reads my post's)

I agree that anything other then a win in a football match means you have dropped points.

' IMO we have to win on Sunday anything else will be points dropped. '

Is that so? :)

We need to win. City will win so we need to win. And if they don't win, we need to capitalise and win haha, there's no other option other than to beat Everton.

Good thing we've played all the top teams away! only losing to one by the way.

I don't understand the original comment. "Away against the better sides". What does that mean? Everton are not in Spurs' league and never were so there goes that argument. We took points of ALL the top 6 away from home bar City (which was a squeaker and could have gone our way) . Also, we lost some games away from home in the CL and the last time I checked, Everton are not on the same planet as PSG Red Star and Napoli so again, I don't understand the original post.

Now, that does not mean we should under-estimate them cos well, they are a team that can STILL beat or take points off us so they must be respected. After all, you don't go virtually beaten in the PL if you don't respect your opponents along the way. Also, it's a derby so I expect our boys to be up for it hence, there is NOTHING to fear BUT fear itself.

The "Golden Rule" for any Derby, "Keep ye Cool" as you have a better chance of winning a Derby with Eleven Men on the Pitch rather than Ten?

01 Mar 2019 20:16:06
Everton are better than Red Star. It will be harder than West Ham and we couldn't beat them. The point to the post is not that Everton are a great side but if we go defensive and not with the right team I can see us dropping vital points.

A point away to City would of been a point won.

I have no concern with our away form against the better sides.

We have lost our last 5 away in Europe.

We have only taken 6 points from 5 games agains't our top 6 rivals. I think it needs work to improve it. You wouldn't take that the start of next season.

markp08, so let me get this straight, a point away at City would have been a point won but points away at United, Arsenal and Chelsea are points dropped and is concerning to you?

18.) 01 Mar 2019
01 Mar 2019 20:53:39
I'm analyzing. If a loss means points dropped, then what does a draw mean? Does it mean a point gained or two points dropped? On the field it means nobody lost or won. But on the table it doesn't have the same consequence. Gaining a point or losing two points is not exactly the same, is it?

Yes. Just thought I would continue with the obvious and the pointless. 😉.

Aray you’re only pointless if you lose ;)

Away form against the big six doesn’t concern me, we have played all of them away and we are top. Would I like more points, of course. But we can’t change it.

Sunday will be a tough game because they will be up for it and so will their fans. Only our best performance will do. We just need to keep our cool.

22.) 02 Mar 2019
01 Mar 2019 23:37:10
Just to be clear Mark08 does that mean we've also won 6points away from home against our top six rivals 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔.

23.) 02 Mar 2019
01 Mar 2019 23:52:43
Technically, both teams start with a point. If a team wins then they gain points, if they lose, they lose a point. Kind of makes sense when it usually take around 38 points to stay up. Break even and your ok.

24.) 02 Mar 2019
02 Mar 2019 08:39:39
That would work fine if it was 2 points for a win, but it ain’t.

25.) 02 Mar 2019
02 Mar 2019 09:28:11
Not sure our away form has been that bad against the top teams, we unfortunately ran into Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal at their strongest time of the season and battled out good away draws imo. The city loss was fine margins. If you win at home against your rivals and draw away you should win the league.

26.) 02 Mar 2019
02 Mar 2019 10:25:57
We lost once against the top away teams and that concerns you? I would take that every season, we had a blip and drew few games, where others had a blip and lost games, again i would take that every season if it puts are in the position we are in now, nobody gave us a chance to get close to city after how many points we was behind them last year, but here we are top with 10 games to go and only lost once, im very proud of the lads and giving us hope we can win the league this year. what ever happens get behind them show them our support and get us over the line be proud we are liverpool and enjoy the ride be proud of them guys ynwa.
