Do we need better cover at LBin the event of AR not available. Against Chelsea right from the kick off almost all their attacks came down their right wing, I wonder why.

Absolutely evered. Moreno is a likable player. He tries, if mane gets booted then alby will give that player a boot back. But he is too rash and too attack orientated.

I don't trust him at all, I've seen him play well but rarely defensively. I thimk he would be a good player for a middle of the table team, even the lower end of the top 7. Klopp doesn't trust him either, he played an AM/ RW/ Cm at LB instead of moreno. He done well at the beginning of last season.

I think the concensus is that we may as well play a youngster, Lewis or Gallagher, I like Gallagher Coz I'm a big Oasis fan.

Think I'll get a lot of disagrees for this but we don't need to buy a bench warmer for when Robertson can't play, he's more than likely going to play most games, if he picks up a small injury so he misses a game or two, milner can deputise fine until the youth are to a point where they can step in. I also believe you would've seen a different moreno if the first time he got caught out of position or played the wrong ball, VVD would've been on his back. Is he good enough as a starter, no I don't believe he is, but I also don't think we can judge him on that game when we didn't have one leader across the whole back four or behind them. Some players aren't leaders but thrive when they have a strong one or ones around them. He wouldn't have been as weak with VVD dictating the line and Allison screaming behind him. I may be wrong but that's just my opinion.

How many seasons has Moreno been here can you honestly believe he can be relied upon. He has not improved at all and I think you don’t have to be especially talented to be better than him.

Vvd would be a lot slower if he’s made to carry Moreno.

I wouldn’t advocate buying a benchwarmer, Ken, but certainly don’t want to see Moreno playing any key games (especially against top sides) . Even if only due to the fact that opposition will target him, his defensive flaws have been so well advertised that even seeing his name on the team sheet would give them a lift.

Milner., Gomez., youngster.? I’d be happy with any of those if needs must.

I agree Moreno is a likeable lad who works hard and gets stuck in, but his reading of the game and positional play isn’t good enough - certainly not for a full back playing in our system.

I hope Klopp starts too blood the youngsters, esp in positions where we are light, but when? The FA cup?

We actually have a very decent youth player in the form of Adam Lewis, I wouldn't be suprised if we see him in the same group as Jones who regularly train with the 1st team.

OP, you are correct. I saw the exact same thing you saw with Chelsea targeting Moreno ALL game. He is simply not good enough anymore and we can get good cover for him BUT it is up to Klopp to find the right player cos not just any player can play the FB role the way Klopp wants. If that was the case, Moreno and Clyne would still be playing.

Moreno is a liability, end of! When he plays I am expecting him to gift a goal away at any time. If I can see this then the opposition must also, and therefore target him. If we have to have a crap back up at LB then at least get one who can defend!

Juicer- Brad Smith was sold to Bournemouth in 2016. And they've sent him on loan to the MLS.

What I meant was, he went from looking ready to go in the first team, and in fact did get an appearance at Chelsea (albeit as a makeshift winger), to out of favour and moved on, all very quickly?

Hi Mane Man - 'I think he would be a good player for a middle of the table team, even the lower end of the top 7'. The side he played for on Wednesday was a middle of the table team. The opposition was a middle of the table team. He still couldn't cut the mustard. I get the impression that he is a great and genuine lad but he is not good enough at any level for Liverpool. I really hope that Liverpool can sell him in January to a club where he can really show any talent that he may have.

Mia, I’m struggling to think of a left-back in any top 7 team, or even any mid-table side, as incompetent as Moreno. The idea that somewhere inside there is a good player is an absolute myth, 4 years of his performances should have told us that.
I am aware that I am strongly bashing our own player, but just call a spade a spade - he is a liability, and it is a real mystery how he has hung on to his place in the squad for four years now. Hazard had showed kind of lack of respect a professional shows an amateur when he skinned Moreno on Wednesday night.
