Irrespective of what happens some saying taa could/ should go to Madrid and come back. What's the thoughts on here can he is he a fowler or Owen? Neither I know I just meant how do you feel if he went for three years say and came back 29/ 30.

I say good luck to the lad, get yourself over to Spain win a few trophies with his boy Jude. If the club really wanted him it'd be sorted by now.

2.) 11 Oct 2024 11:46:41
You probably also want us to be winning trophies Aar91,cant be wishing top players away for nowt and expect to be winning things, the 2 things don't go together. Anyway, Trent stays 100%.

3.) 11 Oct 2024 12:44:46
Agree June.

4.) 11 Oct 2024 13:34:09
@AAR91, what happens at the end of his contract if the club really want him to stay (and has really wanted him to stay all the time) but he wants to leave? Saying that the club should have it sorted out assumes that the club are the only ones with a say in the decision, which is incorrect.

5.) 11 Oct 2024 14:23:33
I think it's stay or leave for myself. I can't see him back in a few years. To be honest if he stays I'd want Bradley getting a run at rb. So unless he moves further forward I'm coming around to the idea of him elsewhere if he wants to be in Madrid. We wouldn't be as reliant either, at times it reminds me of mcmanaman taking the ball from the full backs constantly. We over rely on his ability and feel other creative players aren't as involved knowing he is the better passer.

6.) 11 Oct 2024 15:16:08
Is trent the best passer? I think he's the best long range passer in the league. Short and middle of the park passers there's a lot of candidates. Sob and macca have a fantastic day range but long range, trent is the best of them all in the world league imo.

7.) 11 Oct 2024 16:25:40
I’ll be honest if any or all 3 leave I’d be gutted but I’d wish them all the very best in the world. They’ve given us so many fantastic moments and memories over so many years.

Tying them to new contracts might be proving difficult but I’d imagine trying to replace all 3 will be even harder.

Slot has had a fantastic start to his LFC career but he’s done it with Klopps squad (that’s not a dig at slot) .

Next season he could be starting his second season without 3 world class starting 11 players and then we’re into a so called transitional period.

Whichever way it turns out though Nothing changes for us as fans, we will still be supporting the club be it with a half empty or half full mindset.

I’m enjoying this season and the next run of fixtures is truly epic. It’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster I think and let’s hope there’s far more ups than downs on this ride.

8.) 11 Oct 2024 19:23:07
He has to do what is right for his career.
It’s a short career, good luck for whatever he chooses.

9.) 11 Oct 2024 19:53:29
Sick of hearing about TAA he is going he is staying getting boring now.

10.) 11 Oct 2024 20:17:49
Amazing how many people take time to comment on posts they are bored of.

11.) 12 Oct 2024 01:09:37
I hope Trent stays but it does seem like we’ve been trying to shoehorn him into positions in the team for some time now. He’s a right back that can pretty much go where he wants because we want him on the ball.

It would be interesting to see how we get on with a normal right back who wants to defend in defensive areas and overlap his winger in attacking areas.

It might actually make us a better team overall but Trent is just to good to ask him to play that way and every time he’s played in midfield both for us and England it’s been a disaster.

Kind of like when Coutinho left, he was more of a number 10 who we played from the left but when he left we put a pacy winger/ forward out there in Mane and a the same on the other side in Mo and it massively improved us.

I’m not bashing Trent btw I want him to stay but I am curious as to whether we would be a better balanced team with Bradley as our first choice right back.

12.) 12 Oct 2024 19:43:38
I really hope Trent stays but he’s not irreplaceable no one is and we have lost far better and more important players over the years and still been competitive . That doesn’t mean I don’t think we should keep salah vvd and Trent more just I know we aren’t going to be playing games with 8 men on the pitch if they choose to not sign / stay however you want to put it.

I am so happy for Nat Phillips, he is the cb that we would be linked with if he was playing for anyone below our current position. I just hope we keep him and learn from this season. In previous years we would waste a big transfer on a big fish in a smaller pond to do the exact job he has. He has performed far and above what could be expected of him. Centre backs peak later then forwards, and personally i think he is ahead (1st season) of a player such as a carragher in their early development (especially as a cb). Probably the copious amount of alcohol on a school night... But Nat is my Liverpool player of the season so far.

I have to agree. Barely made a mistake and loves to defend. He reminds of godin just not at the same level.

2.) 16 Mar 2021 09:13:04
Nat is like a human demolition machine in the air, he literally can take out 3 or 4 men with that aerial ability off his bulldozing , well done nat you are part of the team now.

3.) 16 Mar 2021 09:18:27
I rekon with Nat, and possibly would prove to be the same with Davies if we ever see him. but regards Nat, he is in the perfect point of his life and career to be helping us in our current predicament. He is first team experienced, rugged no nonsense defender, is mature for a still youth-aged player and needs to prove himself. I really wish Klopp trusted him weeks earlier, feel like we missed a trick leaving him on the bench and forcing Hendo and Fab to play at the back for so long. but it's done now. Hopefully the team can keep building momentum.

4.) 16 Mar 2021 10:24:56
He is becoming a bit of a cult figure for the fans.

5.) 16 Mar 2021 11:42:15
I think it’s nice to see a good old fashioned blood and thunder centre half doing well. It looks like him and Kabak are learning to play as a partnership which is good news.

6.) 16 Mar 2021 12:14:51
From his first performance it's been utterly baffling that hendo was moved out of midfield with fab already gone to try and avoid playing him.

Genuinely forgot about Carroll. I think I just erased him from my memory. Though I wasn't excited about him either. Which I guess is my point, am I wrong to be disappointed in keita, he didn't set the fee, I just honestly can't remember if he was rated that much outside of big fee expectations.

Can anyone recall how well thought of keita was, I remember there was a lot of excitement (even the handing over of the number 8 shirt) . But non Liverpool fans, was it a big deal, I find it staggering just how ineffective he has been. There's a long list of players we've signed that disappointed, off the top my head aqualani was the big one for me, where I thought we had signed a player that could add something different. But I don't put keita in that bracket, he never seemed that exciting or different. Thiago would be the most recent example, though I'm delighted with him and he has lived up to the expectation that came with a pedigree. It's a genuine question did keita have much of a pedigree or did we just spend 50 odd million on a player like the 7 million on taki? If so who would rather take a hit and have sold keita for 8-10 million and have kept taki?

{Ed0666's Note - Aqualini was injured when we bought him and let’s face it he was an absolute flop! For me tho the biggest waste of money in our history was/is Andy Caroll, we got our pants pulled down on that one royally. L

Nottingham forest, the team that showed we wasn't contenders as everyone knew they'd be fighting for relegation, the team we couldn't beat that was yet another example of how we hadn't played a decent team yet.

Completely agree with nevada. I've meant to respond with this very point for ages when treats defensive capabilities etc get scrutiny. Just too apathetic towards the nonsense I guess. But that's my genuine concern, over every other aspect to be honest. With a change at lb coming there's nothing stopping the club having a more attack minded lb then rb moving forwards but finding the replacement for trents press resistance is the issue definitely.
