Hi Ed's, I know you've been answering a lot lately. But I was wandering if there was truth in LFC breaking their transfer record for Keita and also if you think he's actually worth that kind of money? I've seem flashed and highlights but that's all. Thanks in advance.
{Ed002's Note - I would need to check if Liverpool has made any approach yet but the asking price is putting off Arsenal and he is not first choice for Chelsea.}
27 May 2017 17:13:01
Do you think he is worth the rumoured asking price?
{Ed002's Note - It is enough to put off others so it needs thinking about.}
27 May 2017 17:19:03
Ed002 - Do we know if Keita is willing to move to the EPL? And if Leipzip will sell given the right price? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - They will sell at was is a large price. I have no knowledge of what the player wants.}

RMC (French football news outlet) very reliable are reporting we're willing to match city's offer for Mendy from Monaco. Ed001 has mentioned our interest and that we've watched him several times this season. Would be a terrific signing.
27 May 2017 12:58:34
He would suit us down to the ground. An excellent left back.
27 May 2017 13:13:04
The price would be north of 30 million pounds though. Hope we still have enough dosh left over to strengthen 3-4 other positions as well. I'm still baffled by why Bertrand has not been targeted. The club wants Sessegnon as the long term option, so why not sign the most consistent LB in the past few seasons in the BPL to hold fort till Sessegnon is ready? Bertrand is nearly 28 and probably has 3-4 good years left him till Sessegnon is ready.
27 May 2017 13:50:56
Cant see us pushing for Mendy. Likely to expensive especially if Citeh are after him. Ed am I right in thinking he is down the list after the likes of Sesengnon, Peirea etc?
27 May 2017 14:31:11
Fair point Indian Buzzer, but I'm more than happy with that price considering how desperate we are for a left back.
27 May 2017 14:32:09
No Kloppsreds17, he is equal on the list with Sessegnon as Liverpool want both of them. I'd say he's a higher priority than Sessegnon because Sessegnon is a kid will be loaned back if he's signed.
27 May 2017 14:40:43
Robin, Mendy plus Sessegnon is 50 million plus worth of money to strengthen one position. Bertrand will be cheaper and attainable, and we could get both him and Sessegnon for Mendy's price.
Not to mention City's offer will be more attractive to Mendy regardless. Playing for Pep and a handsome 100 grand plus wages is not something he will say no to.
27 May 2017 17:10:51
Sessegnon To spurs.
27 May 2017 18:22:40
Stop worrying about price. the money that will be spent this year will be ridiculous. Money in football has almost become it's own currency. It has no relevance to the value of money we hold.
27 May 2017 18:25:26
confirmed?
27 May 2017 19:06:31
Nope just a rumour š.
27 May 2017 20:03:10
Mendy is a good player, but based on past record, Liverpool will likely won't even have a chance to get him over Man City.
27 May 2017 23:49:27
Seems like we are being linked with some really good players. I hope we spend wisely though. Mendy would be a good signing, and Sessegnon is apparently the real deal, so both would be a major improvement.
27 May 2017 08:47:45
Hey eds, Are we really looking at n'zonzi?
{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, sorry.}
27 May 2017 10:35:23
Surely not.
27 May 2017 10:50:54
Quality player.
Height techinique power. Just cose he's gangly doesn't mean he is a bad player.
Think crouchy.
27 May 2017 10:52:15
N'Zonzi is a good player, don't let the fact he played for Blackburn and Stoke make you think he isn't.
27 May 2017 11:50:27
Watched Sevilla a lot this season solely because of sampaoli. Nzonzi played in the deep lying midfield role and was phenomenal, he's improved immensely from his time at Stoke. Really good player.
{Ed001's Note - surely you mean Juanma Lillo rather than Sampaoli? It is no coincidence that Sampaoli's teams became good at the same time Lillo became his number two. If you haven't heard of Juanma Lillo you really should look him up, the guy should be a legend but somehow it has just never quite worked out for him as a number one.}
27 May 2017 12:08:53
You made me curious there Ed. Do you mind elaborating a bit? Why do you recon he is that good?
{Ed001's Note - because he is up there with Marcelo Bielsa as a great coach who has influenced many others. This is a good place to start reading about him: Juanma Lillo article
Well it will be if I have put the link in correctly!}
27 May 2017 12:11:37
Will do ed, not really surprising that he's off to Argentina. The expansive football that they played this season was breathtaking, nasri and nzonzi in a pivot worked very well. Jovetic also flourished under Sampaoli, needs to stay fit cause he's a very good striker. Pity it never worked out for him at City.
{Ed001's Note - it was good because of Lillo. Sampaoli is good but Lillo is the real brains.}
27 May 2017 13:02:09
Just watched his teams performance when he was almeria vs Barcelona, now I understand why you hold him in such high regard.
{Ed001's Note - the more you find out about the more you wonder why he has not had more chances!}
27 May 2017 17:27:18
Yep done some research on him, baffled that he's not progressed to be a top manager. Cheers for enlightening me about him, never heard about him since today.
{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}
27 May 2017 22:28:16
Love it - thank you ed001! Don't ever change.
