Hey Ed any truth to the Lucas Ocampos rumours that’s have been circulating over the last few days.

{Ed002's Note - I have no ideas what these rumours are.}

1.) 22 Feb 2021 09:12:46
Apparently Ed002, we're using Minamino as part of a swap deal, because we know how often those happen really.

{Ed002's Note - There would be a significant difference in value. Is he a Mane or Jota replacement?}

2.) 22 Feb 2021 11:22:59
Dunno Ed002, just following up on the original comment to flesh out the BS from the press. But if you need an answer, he'll be replacing Salah and Origi.

{Ed002's Note - He is not a RW.}

3.) 22 Feb 2021 11:56:37
I was jesting, but as we like to play folk out of position at the moment then let's give it a go 😂.

4.) 23 Feb 2021 15:35:57
Mane can play on the right - he did before Salah joined.

21 Dec 2020 02:45:54
Hi eds and reds hope we’re all having a great Christmas. I’ve read a number of reports that are saying we have agreed a £18m fee with Lille for Renato Sanches seems a really odd one to me. Any insight would be much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - Renato Sanches (CM) Lille are happy to let the player move on due to the constant muscle injuries he suffers; they want euro 20M. I am not aware of Liverpool having agreed his transfer but Klopp has praised him in the past.}

1.) 21 Dec 2020 09:27:19
to be fair ed we do need another CM to start on our treatment table, would add some great depth on the injury list.

2.) 21 Dec 2020 09:42:20
Don't see the value in him tbh. Very over hyped and still has plenty time to live up to his potential but what does it do for the progressions of cain Clarkson and Jones. Even if gini goes for free we have enough cover and he isn't needed.

3.) 21 Dec 2020 10:59:57
If its true at that price its very interesting. there's not a team on the planet who wouldn't have wanted him when he signed for Bayern. Obviously everything hasn't gone according to plan since then but i remember looking at him at 18 and thinking he was going to be one of the top handful of players in the world. A fit Sanches at that price could be an inspired signing.

4.) 21 Dec 2020 12:18:23
Soon as I see injurie I see pass n move on!

5.) 21 Dec 2020 16:43:19
This the guy who was on loan at West Ham few years back? Surely isn’t good enough for us?

{Ed001's Note - Swansea he was on loan at and he has improved since then. But then I have seen better players in pub leagues than he was at Swans. He was ridiculously overrated, as I said before he went to Bayern. Never got the hype then and I wouldn't consider him now. He is a lump of lard.}

6.) 21 Dec 2020 19:50:20
He certainly ain’t no Hendo.

7.) 21 Dec 2020 20:44:39
i didn't actually realise how much the fee was that bayern had agreed, was massive for an unproven 18 year old! wasnt it up to like 75m euro's with 35m upfront.

i think if he has fitness issues one to potentially stay away from.

8.) 22 Dec 2020 06:32:58
I sincerely hope we steer clear of Renato Sanches. I still cannot forget his world class pass to the Carabao Cup billboards instead of a team mate standing right next to him.
Want Bissouma as Gini's replacement. Premier league proven and more consistent without any major injury history (bit like Gini) .
Only drawback being Bissouma will be off to AFCON next season for a month.

9.) 22 Dec 2020 06:52:16
You guys have Grujic on the books. Surely it's worth giving him a shot if Gini leaves before spending money on a player who has flopped massively at a big club in the past and whose current club are willing to sell him without much hassle for a not too big of a fee. Surely if he had started showing the potential he once was said to have than surely Lille would want to keep him on seeing that they are top of the league currently.

Grujic is already on the books and 20m euros can be better spent specially during the current economic situation in my view. Why is the club/ Klopp not that high on Grujic ed001? Wasn't he signed under Klopp. Surely he must have seen something in the lad to green lit the signing even if he wasn't Klopp's choice.

{Ed001's Note - work permit is the main issue. I would rather have no one than Renato Sanches.}

10.) 22 Dec 2020 08:34:52
I'd rather give Clarkson or Jake Cain a real go than sign Renato Sanches. The kids would run through a brick wall for the club. Sanches is the kind of signing we would be making under Brendan Rodgers (no direction or real plan for the player who is not good enough to make our first team squad in the first place) .

{Ed001's Note - I would rather play Jeremy Clarkson than Renato Sanches - about the same build and mobility.}

11.) 22 Dec 2020 09:25:50
See what everyone is saying about Sanches and that one game for Swansea where he passed to the hoarding is enough to put you off! However haven't seem him lately and by all accounts he's improved so if Klopp and the team deem him good enough that's enough for me.

{Ed001's Note - I have seen him in bits and pieces at both Bayern and Lille and he is not good enough or even close to it. I really do not believe there can possibly be any truth to it, the lad can barely run.}

12.) 22 Dec 2020 12:03:41
Ha still the same player then ed? I was reserving judgement a bit since I haven't seen him play so long. But from what you say there's not been a lot of improvement. Was the hype around him purely because of his physicality for his age then?

{Ed001's Note - and because he was part of a Portugese team that won a tournament because of Ronaldo and nothing to do with him. He was always a big lad, but it is mostly round his waist. He is not anything like Klopp-type fit.}

13.) 22 Dec 2020 16:32:21
CR7 wasn't that great in the Euros 2016 if I recall correctly Tris.

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't have to be great as international footie is crap. He draws players away from the rest of the team, even when playing poorly he is worth two or three men, just the same as Salah on a bad day. They give the rest of the team space.}

14 Oct 2020 21:21:42
Hey eds and reds. Wondered if you could clear something up for me. Been reading reports that we are interested in signing Subãsič on a free. Is there any truth in this?

{Ed002's Note - To be honest I thought he had retired now. Who would he replace?}

1.) 14 Oct 2020 22:00:50
As far as I can tell this link originates from Paul Robinson suggesting it might be a good idea.

2.) 14 Oct 2020 22:10:38
WTF, he must be about 40, where did this come from?

3.) 14 Oct 2020 22:51:14
johnnyr1970 He's 35.

4.) 15 Oct 2020 03:17:33
Yeah I thought he was drawing is pension now, but have seen a couple of reports saying we are interested. Seems a bit daft to me we have some very promising youngsters on the roster, why not give them a go, if faith has been lost in Adrian. It’s weird Adrian at the start of last Season showed glimpse of brilliance and looked like a very good player. But either his form has dipped or he’s buckled under the pressure of being LFC no.2 GK. his confidence seems to be shattered.

5.) 15 Oct 2020 06:43:06
Its literally just pundits etc suggesting random names. not happening imo. Apparently the new young Brazilian gk is looking tasty in training. I have heard a rumour Peter Shilton is available.

6.) 16 Oct 2020 15:43:12
Ah, thought they meant the old Serbian striker!

04 Jul 2020 04:20:50
Hey reds, I’ve heard we are looking at emmanuel dennis from Brugge. Tricky pacy forward who can cover all three forward positions.

30 Jun 2020 15:40:22
Hi eds and reds hope your all safe and well, Any truth in rumours surrounding Salzburg’s hee chan hwang, could be a coup if true.

{Ed002's Note - Not involving Liverpool - he is subject to some paperwork issues he is moving elsewhere.}

1.) 30 Jun 2020 15:49:36

2.) 01 Jul 2020 08:44:32
Was that wolves that were interested?

{Ed002's Note - Wolves were one of the interested sides.}

3.) 02 Jul 2020 11:16:37
He looked like a good player, if he replicates his form for whichever team he goes too, looks like a pretty good steal!

Hey Eds and reds, I really think this loan for minamino is going to be great for both the player and club. Ralph is an Austrian, and from what I gather minamino is finding the language here much like Keita I believe minamino speak Austrian and could benefit from that. Could be way off and clutching, but seems a great fit to me.

{Ed001's Note - from what I can remember of Austrian, it is just a dialect of German, certainly mostly Austrians speak German.}

1.) 02 Feb 2021 05:50:49
Taki speaks decent English as far as I know. Don't think it's a language issue so much as he needs a run of games in the PL to see if he can cut it longer term.

I like Taki a lot and think he should be getting Origi's minutes but the coaching staff obviously don't think so at the minute.

The loan will be good for him and for LFC.

2.) 02 Feb 2021 07:28:04
He is too lightweight in my opinion as the reason he has not progressed, maybe a run of games for the Saints can toughen him up.

3.) 02 Feb 2021 07:30:58
As ed001 said they speak deutsch in austria. so he could speak with Jürgen if he had any language issues don't think that's the issue here clearly klopp dosnt rate him enough. Hope it all works out and he comes out as a better player.

4.) 02 Feb 2021 09:35:14
I work with an Austrian and yes, they speak German as well. Taki needs games to get fit and strong.

5.) 02 Feb 2021 09:51:27
Weight should have nothing to do with it. Plenty of slight players have had great careers in the PL. For example Taking is the same weight as David Silva and only 2kg lighter that Raheem Sterling.
I've no idea what the issue could be but if I was to hang my hat on something it might be a cultural thing, I don't know 🤷‍♂️.

17 Jan 2021 01:07:34
Hi Ed’s and reds I can see Leon Bailey as a potential replacement for salah should he leave in the summer.

{Ed0666's Note - I think there’s a few sides that are after him mate. Spurs, Arsenal and I think Everton once upon a time. 4 goals and 4 assists this season in 15 appearances. He’s rapid aswell.

1.) 17 Jan 2021 03:40:19
Salah should be kept at all costs because nobody in that position can do what he does for Liverpool, we need to keep our best players. Don't get me wrong, if he wants out then fine, offload at the first opportunity otherwise we keep him, I wouldn't put any player in his place right now because nobody is as good, he fits perfectly in this team.

2.) 17 Jan 2021 05:16:30
Unless Halaand or Mbappe are the Salah replacement, I do not want us to get rid of Salah. His numbers are insane, levels above Mane and Bobby. You cannot just sign any inconsistent and second rate winger like Bailey to replace him. It has to be someone who has a track record of scoring lots of goals or we change formation to accommodate a proper No.9 like Halaand.

3.) 17 Jan 2021 07:44:02
Spot on, Salah and IB. Bailey is not in Salah’s league. Nowhere near it. He is not even better than our own Jota, IMO. Salah is an international super star. Proven world class in terms of production only rivales by Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe for the past three years. If we cannot get like for for him in terms of ability and production then we keep him if he wants to stay.

People had better b careful with what they wish for cos if they think we can just get any old wide player out there to do all the things that Salah does, then they are in for a shock. Same for Bobby and Mane. Keep them if they want to stay and compliment them with Jota and Bailey, im.

4.) 17 Jan 2021 08:36:15
Don’t forget though that the team will need younger players coming in as we can keep salah, mane, bobby, hendo, until they retire then have no money to buy half a team.
Don’t get me wrong am all for keeping salah but we also have to think about the future.

5.) 17 Jan 2021 09:20:40
Is Halaand a direct replacement for Salah? Mbappe, well, great player, doesn't seem to be so motivated this year and would cost an absolute bomb and twice the wages Thiago is on. I really don't understand why people keep putting him up as an option. It is never going to happen.

6.) 17 Jan 2021 10:06:18
We should be trying to keep Salah. No wide man out there produces his numbers on a consistent basis. If Salah were to leave, we have to be targeting Haaland. The kids finishing for a 20 year old and pace for someone his size is actually not normal and in our system is the only one I see replicating or coming close to Salah’s stats. That would simply mean Mane and Jota either side of him. Bailey is not on Jota’s level and we can’t make the same mistake we did when we sold Suarez by signing second rate players.

7.) 17 Jan 2021 11:33:38
Spot on, Alonzo1786.

02 Aug 2020 20:13:26
Hey Ed’s and reds hope we’re all doing well. I read we are after Konstantinos Tsimikas any truth in this could be very good cover for Robertson.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

11 Jul 2020 01:41:08
Hi eds and reds, a question regarding minimino, do we think he’s going to come good for us? I’m hopeful as I like his energy on the pitch. I think given a little more time he with become a key member of the squad. How long did it take for firmiho to fit in.

1.) 11 Jul 2020 06:38:26
I don’t know why people keep forgetting that people take at least 6 months to settle into our squad with a few exceptions.

People were on the ox’s case and fabinho’s when he first joined.

Taku has played a total of about 6 games for us so far and had a 4 month interruption due to C.V..

Let’s give the lad time and stop questioning him until he’s had a chance to show us what he’s really capable of.

2.) 11 Jul 2020 06:58:04
Yes he will come good. Players like Fabinho, Robertson and Ox hardly played for the first 3 months of the season. It’s the Klopp way to let the player acclimatize to our style of play first.

3.) 11 Jul 2020 07:49:51
I think our style of play is very unique. He's had to learn English, deal with a 3 month lockdown, and try and learn the tactics with no pre-season and minimal work on the training ground in general.

I think by January 2021 we'll see the real Minamino. He's clearly talented. Reminds me a bit of Yossi Benayoun.

4.) 11 Jul 2020 08:56:18
He’ll come good matter of time.

5.) 11 Jul 2020 13:53:42
IMO, Ox has already come good and he came good the moment he helped us pummel City 4-3, in both CL games and vs Roma be fore he got injured so to me, that is a settled issue.

The thing now is whether he can come back to the form he had before lockdown as other players are having difficulties coming back to top shape since the Restart. Give it time.

19 Jun 2020 13:19:22
Could Fabinho be converted into a centre back, if we are looking at the can from INTER?

1.) 19 Jun 2020 15:20:41
He probably could, but why on earth would we do such a thing? If we're signing a CAM, he'd surely displace Wijanldum, Ox or Keita rather than Fabinho.

{Ed002's Note - The player suggested was DM.}

2.) 19 Jun 2020 15:36:26
For me that would be trying to put square pegs in round holes. Why take one of the best Dm around and convert him into a centre back. If we need another centre back why not just buy a centre back. If Klopp thinks we need another Dm to compete with Fab then so be it. I know Fab has filled in for us at centre back before before someone says. My comment is clearly on converting him into a full time centre back.

3.) 19 Jun 2020 17:03:09
One thing I've learned while klopp been here is that if he buys a player who is known to play a certain position, it doesn't necessarily mean that is where klopp sees him for Liverpool. It just means he has the skill set klopp is looking for.

All played in different positions at previous clubs.

4.) 19 Jun 2020 17:43:47
I'm sure he's played there for us already hasn't he? Maybe in a cup game or when we had injury problems?

5.) 19 Jun 2020 17:45:13
To be fair, Fabinho has looked good when he has played at CB. He’s calm, defensively sound, is good in the air and physically strong.

6.) 19 Jun 2020 17:47:41
Robbie that is absolute tosh mate, sorry.

Of played CM for arsenal towards the end and made no secret he felt it was his best position

Salah has spent his entire career as a winger

Milner whilst he’s played LB for us, it was out of necessity and his main position has been CM, again spent a good portion of his career there

Minamino played on the right for RBL and has played ST for Japan so not sure what you’re referrring to there?

The only major position change Klopp has done has been Bobby who you missed off your list.

7.) 19 Jun 2020 19:56:02
That's not tosh shaq. Ox was a winger for most of his career and played there for arsenal. Salah played as a forward with dzeko at roma. Milner was a winger or RM in the 442 days. Gini was an am for Newcastle and mino played centrally for rbl. All play different roles with Liverpool in the main part.

8.) 19 Jun 2020 21:00:03
Robbie so do you want to see Fab at centre half full time or you happy with him in the midfield mate. I know he can play both and right back. But where do you see his main position. I see it in midfield as I would rather have Trent at RB and Gomez and Matip ahead of him for the slot alongside VVD and I think Fab is a beast In the midfield.

9.) 19 Jun 2020 21:25:59
Fab is a midfielder, a true DM (after being converted from RB at Monaco) and that should be the position he should always play provided we don't need him to step in and do a job at CB, which he already has in a few games last season.

10.) 19 Jun 2020 21:28:30
Oh without doubt jk23. He's a dcm first and foremost. The fact he can fill in at rb and cb is just the icing on the cake. Klopp likes players who are versatile. If lovren leaves then I think we need another cb. Whether that's a new player or a youngster stepping up I dunno. My hunch is that vdb, Philips and hoever are not at the level to play pl and cl. Hoever maybe at rb but seems a bit small for a cb.

11.) 20 Jun 2020 07:45:52
When fully fit and firing on all cylinders, Fabhino is immense sitting in front of the back four. He can also pick a pass too! He has great ability and can easily slip into CB. £40m ( obviously not including the fees etc ) we paid for him is a steal in today’s market. When you look at Harry Maguire last night, put things into perspective.

Would be an absolutely amazing signing, and has Klopp written all over him, super versatile can play everywhere in midfield and can cover CB and FB too. If this true I’d be very happy, he’s looked great for Schalke.

Sorry Ron, but I got to disagree with you mate. Have you seen much of Quincey Promes play? He's a totally different build to Christian Atsu, he's much stronger on the ball, he'd be a great addition to the team. He's quick, strong and can finish. I've seen him play all over the pitch, LM/ RM/ CAM/ LW/ RW/ CF/ ST.

A lot of people have been saying klopp haven't achieved anything, well to be honest I disagree. He took us to two finals and had a good chunk of his key players missing for that. He may not have achieve great success within the league this last term, but I truthfully believe we have found a cracking manage, and one who can take us forward into a new era. I'm very interested and excited about what the future may bring under klopp.
