Ed01 i know you said conor bradley is a perfect right back for us but he is playing very high up the pitch like a winger more so than a wing back or orthodox right back . I am currently watching him and watched him in midweek. I would love him to thrive anywhere on the pitch but looks like he would be great were henderson is playing when trent comes in midfield or as a winger. The great thing is if he is defensively sound then wat a brilliant option with his versatility.

{Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? When have I called him perfect? He deserved this season to be playing for us, rather than wasting money on a Ramsay.}

To me, it's just a sign of the times, I guess. Five years ago, we bought our 4th choice right winger and he immediately turned into a world class, record beater with consistent performance. We switched our existing right winger to the left, and even he, in that position, became world class (for at least a few years) .

Since last summer we have bought 4 players for 117 Million plus fees (Carvalho, Nunez, Ramsay and Gakpo) . Two are said to be on their way out for loans. One is still a work in progress. And only the last one shows signs, to me, of being a good player who immediately contributed to success of the team.

didn't know if there was a bargain kind of like Robertson. Have to admit I'm not up on the Everton roster. Again, I hope they don't get relegated.

{Ed025's Note - i hope they dont stone but i think they will, the leicester game on monday is the biggest game in evertons history mate and if we dont win relegation is almost certain, we have a couple of good youngsters but they are untried at premiership level and for their sake need to move from such a toxic club imo..

Won't lie, always cheered against the blues but part of me feels its a loss. can't see goals in them at the moment and think they will go down. A big club with a good history. many more might follow with the way the game is going.

{Ed025's Note - the owner and board have ruined the club Livergat, thats why i say be careful what you wish for when you want new owners mate..

Bang on, Ed25. The grass is not always greener on the other side of that coin. You don't know what you've got till it's gone.

Bradley would be great where Henderson plays? What? Because Henderson sometimes stands on the wing to occupy the space? When I see these comments like this or “so and so should play RM” I genuinely wonder if y’all understand our system and how we play.

Hi ed01 sorry i meant to say a perfect option as a back up or rotation option i wasnt accusing you of steaking the crown jewels or anything ?. I completely agree that bradley would of been great to stick around definitely instead of ramsey who himself needs a solid loan, Bradley will come back with a lot of confidence after his impressive loan.

{Ed001's Note - ah yes that does sound like what I said! I like Bradley a lot and he impressed me last season, I didn't understand the decision to bring in Ramsay I have to say. I am still dubious about the signing, though I do believe he is an excellent prospect, it just seemed to be a waste of limited funds. We should only have bought what we needed, when there was such a clear need for certain types of players. But we seemed to be getting caught in the Chelsea trap of just buying players for future profit. That's fine if you are not intending to win trophies, but if you are aiming at winning titles then every penny should be spent on building the team or you end up with it never getting actually put together.}

Bradley has killed it at Bolton. Deserves a go.

Ed1 I liked Bradley when he played last season as well, but a year of regular football might have got him use to the rigours of playing week in week out, anyway what do you see as his main strengths and weaknesses, and what do you make of Trent in midfield? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - his main strengths are technical. He is very good technically, good delivery, good touch etc. Though he is also good physically. quick and strong. His weakness is the same as every youngster these days - they have no real football intelligence as they play far too much organised football and never really have to learn for themselves. It is difficult to develop the ability to think for yourself if you are never given the opportunity to do so.

As for Trent in midfield, if he is actually in midfield fine, he has the attributes to make a success of it and it has to be something to look at in order to reduce the problems of building the team. But he either needs to be a midfielder or a full-back, not this bollox half-and-half crap that doesn't work 90% of the time. It is a nonsense set-up that no coach has ever made actually work. Sometimes they can get away with using it, such as Citeh this season, who would normally be miles clear at the top but for trying to get it to work. They were lucky we were so bad, otherwise they would be playing for second because they use it. It is overly complicated and just opens up issues. When it works it is great, but it creates more problems than it solves and is just managers trying to be too clever and wanting to do something new. Sometimes you just need to look at working on doing what you did do better, rather than trying to be too smart.}

I'd love to see trent get a run of games in midfield, as a ' normal' midfielder. Now would be the time to try it for me as we don't have pile to lose.

With you on the rb/ cm combo. Time to get Arnold in midfield fulltime and get an rb into team in my opinion. Maybe Gomez from current selection. It will free Arnold up even a little bit more and be more aggressive in his press.

It's worked decently enough but I don't see this as the best formation for next season.

I really like Bradley but i feel it may end up like Kelleher, right back isn't a position that needs much rotating and id still expect Trent barring injury to start 30+ league games Bradleys time will be limited and i think he may not be happy to stick around for too long. I'd keep him loan out Ramsay then see where we are in 12 months.

{Ed001's Note - and yet in teams that do rotate, the full-backs are always rotated. It requires a player to cover more ground than most positions. You only have to look at the way Robertson always looks leggy by the second half of each season to see he could do with being rotated more often.}
