Question for Ed 025 please if you are about. This isn't a wind up but I am interested to know what Everton fans views are on Dele being a Liverpool supporter. He even has 96 tattooed on his arm which I know will be respected from all sides.
Thanks.

{Ed025's Note - i like him even more now you have told me that cornish, listen him liking liverpool is no big deal mate, carra and god both supported everton but it never held them back, i believe dele could be massive for us, he needed to get away from spurs as 7 years is far too long, but its up to him now mate..

think dele alli needed out of london fullstop. Not sure if lampard is the man to turn his career around but a move up north will certainly put him on the right path in my opinion. There was certainly talk of us signing him years ago an supposedly being in the box seat as he was a liverpool fan, opting to go to spurs just goes to show that supporting a team as a child has very little bearing on a players career.

I can't see Deli coming good. He seems more interested in stupid handshakes and bad hair! Bad attitude apparently. let's see though. Hoping not 🤣🤣.

Alli is a great player if Frank can put his arm round him and get him back to form. Fully capable of 15 goals a season from midfield without relying on penalties.

Apparently the reason behind Everton signing Deli was that his brother bolyn would join in the summer.

{Ed025's Note - nice one ace..

I am sincerely not just saying this because I’m a red or because i want Everton to fail, but i really do think the incomings of Lampard and Alli are yet another catastrophe waiting to happen. It doesn’t matter how many times poor choices are made, Everton never seem to learn.

In his time at Chelsea, for me Lampard didn’t show that he was any better or more qualified than the likes of Solskjaer and Arteta. He strikes me as a very angry and reactionary coach, often ostracising players for weeks at a time, chopping and changing the team on a whim, usually because of a bad result. It seems a very naive and amateurish approach, like he’s trying too hard to prove his genius and his authority. I had no idea what identity he wanted to stamp on the team, simply because it seemed to change it every week. I feel that this kind of management style will wind up Everton fans in a very short space of time. A very rushed appointment based on nothing tangible other than panic and desperation.

As for Alli, how many times have we been here with Everton signings. A stupid amount of money paid out of desperation for a player that has been useless for years now, disappearing so far up his own backside that his game is now unrecognisable to the player who broke through at Spurs. His attitude stinks and no amount of ‘arm round the shoulder’ is going to change that, it’s been going on for far too long. Far greater coaches than Lampard have tried and failed to reverse the slide to no avail. He’s a dead weight going nowhere fast; just like Schneiderlin, just like Iwobi, just like Rooney, just like James Rodriguez. Like Lampard, it seems predicated on desperation rather than logic.

When you put the two together, it spells disaster. A hot head ‘little man syndrome’ manager, taking on a player that could cost up to £40 million, who for all his talent thinks he’s way better than he is and hasn’t worked hard in years. I just can’t see any way that this ends well.

I admire the optimism of the Everton supporters - hell, what else are they supposed to do - but we’ve been here before. I can see this going south from a mile off. Sorry Ed025.

At least Donny van de Beek might be good!

{Ed025's Note - i think dele could eclipse DVDB AW, he went stale at spurs but there is definitely talent in there, as for the £40m that is an ongoing thing, we pay £10m after he plays 20 games then its staggered and the only way we pay the full whack is if we win the premiership and 3 champions leagues..and that could take 5 years mate.. :)

I could think of worse people than Lampard.

For what it's worth he was nowhere near good enough for Chelsea but it was convenient for them given the circumstances at the time and he was never going to say no was he?

I think you spin this move as a positive or negative however you're incline. At Chelsea he did HAVE to lean on their academy products and that did enough for them, Everton could probably do with them same while they get that state of a squad in order. All he really needs to do this season is stabilise the club and then in the summer the club as a whole needs a long hard look at itself and decide how they're going to move forward because to be blunt it's a mess and no one manager is going to sort that out.

{Ed002's Note - Frank Lampard went through the academy and gave a lot of youngsters the chance they needed. The problem at Everton will not be him - it will be the fans.}

With Alli, it depends on how far up his own backside he's gone. If he's mature enough to take on board what his attitude needs to be to fulfill his undoubted potential then this could be a turning point for him.
On the other hand, if he's too full of himself and doesn't grasp the opportunity the Everton fans will be on his back and it will end in tears.
It wasn't just the situation at Spurs that needed to change, it's Alli himself that needs to change.

{Ed025's Note - i agree to a certain extent flash, but the situation we find ourselves in it could be a marriage made in heaven mate...watch this space..

I vaguely remember something about Deli wanting to meet Gerrard when he visited before signing, but Gerrard slept in and didn't show. Maybe that was just a rubbish story? For a few years I really regretted we didn't sign Ali, he was tearing it up for a bit.

{Ed001's Note - that is the story Dele told, so you would have to assume it was true.}

The fans are toxic. massive problem. Couple of bad results and the toys are out the pram. Really poor but I guess when all you've seen is dross and bad management it begins to grate. Oh well. 🤣.

As mentioned, I think getting away from London and the SE will be good for Deli. I know a few of his mates as I used to live in Milton Keynes, he used to do a few stupid things, but hopefully getting away from them and the area will be good for him.
