Have Liverpool shown any interest in Zeno Debast from Anderlect? I know he has only just really broken into the team but looks a decent young player.

Ox in a Box

{Ed002's Note - His agent has said "many clubs" have been watching him but has no plans to move.}

1.) 08 Nov 2022 18:17:35
That could be quite an unfortunate surname if misspelled.

2.) 08 Nov 2022 22:06:05
Hi Eds, have liverpool shown any interest too on gustav isaksen?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware but there has been interest from sale where in the Premier League.}

1.) 04 Feb 2022 16:00:09
Ed001 - please let me know how i can send you the details of the ED001 Appreciation account so you can set up the withdrawal.

{Ed001's Note - I guess the easiest would be to email rumours1st@hotmail.com mate. And thank you, it is very kind of you all and I haven't stopped blushing all day.}

2.) 04 Feb 2022 16:37:23
Well played OX I knew there would be someone with a few brain cells on here. My £20 is sent 😉. All the best ed.

3.) 04 Feb 2022 16:50:21
OX - when you make the donation it comes up as £23, is the £3 a fee? Am not bothered just checking.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mark!}

4.) 04 Feb 2022 16:54:38
At the moment ed001 you could get the bus to the airport and a coffee.

{Ed001's Note - that's is better than it was before this. I will enjoy that coffee on you Mark thanks.}

5.) 04 Feb 2022 17:13:23
The last time you blushed this much Ed001 was when we got locked up overnight in a rubber toy factory 😊.

{Ed001's Note - you enjoyed that far too much Bazza. What was in those bags you took home afterwards?}

6.) 04 Feb 2022 17:17:56
My pleasure Ed. When people finish work the donations will fly in. Lots of love on this site.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mark, we rarely agree but I do always enjoy the discussion with you as you do always make me consider my thoughts.}

7.) 04 Feb 2022 17:19:01
Wasn't worth my while Tris-Batteries Not Included 😐.

8.) 04 Feb 2022 17:41:14
I will do tomorrow, great site and effort that ed1 and all Ed's puts in is excellent. Learn so much and good craic!

{Ed001's Note - thank you Digger, it is enough that you all appreciate the site.}

9.) 04 Feb 2022 17:47:33
£10 sent. Just a little thanks for all the hard work. Loved this site since I stumbled across it back around 2010. 👏👏.

{Ed001's Note - thank you so much.}

10.) 04 Feb 2022 17:51:07
A cheeky tenner is yours ed, twice as much as I'd pay for Delle Ali.

{Ed001's Note - wow, that would be £5 more than Everton have paid for him so far then. Levy will be gutted he didn't come to you first.}

11.) 04 Feb 2022 18:29:18
Just donated now, thanks ED for putting this site together has been many years visiting here every day.

12.) 04 Feb 2022 18:33:29
I'm in :)

13.) 04 Feb 2022 19:08:35
All the best and thanks for all you do, Ed001. Looking forward to an invite to your first pool party when you make it to the Philippines!

{Ed001's Note - pool party? I don't think it will be quite like that living out there!}

14.) 04 Feb 2022 19:29:31
Ox, thank you for setting that up. Just contributed 50. Let's spread the word and help get Ed his ticket.

15.) 04 Feb 2022 19:35:14
if not a pool party, then how about a beach party!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if there is a beach near there but I am sure we can find one.}

16.) 04 Feb 2022 19:41:19
Hi Markp08 - im not sure why you would be charged £23 if you donated £20 - there are no fees for donating.

17.) 04 Feb 2022 19:41:20
Get yourself a crypto wallet address and I'll send you some crypto. I don't do fiat.

18.) 04 Feb 2022 21:05:56
I’d be lost without the site Ed01, so it’s my pleasure to donate mate.

{Ed001's Note - that's nice to hear BB.}

19.) 04 Feb 2022 21:17:37
Hi Ed001 - i'll email you the details shortly

Mark - i can only see £20 being donated so not sure if you have been charged £23 - although these pages usually have ads that say if you want to add 15% etc for a charity that gofundme are working with, which you selected - which may be why you got charged £23.

the other thing it could be is gift aid - which if you are a UK tax payer the Government add a percentage to your donation at no cost to you.

20.) 04 Feb 2022 21:23:14
Ox-there are fees for withdrawing on gofundme and similar sites, a rip off if you ask me.

21.) 04 Feb 2022 22:18:17
I have no clue either OX but I appreciate you being the one who set this up. Stone, well played mate.

22.) 05 Feb 2022 00:48:02
Maybe you can now get a pastry to go with that airport coffee. Enjoy.

23.) 05 Feb 2022 01:27:30
I don't know what this discussion is all about, but I have the utmost respect for the Ed's and what they do for us, and I'm happy to support anyway I can. Can you paste the link, please?

24.) 05 Feb 2022 01:38:14
I just donated 20 eds so you can double up on the coffee and the pastries. Thanks again for all you guys do much love from the United States!

25.) 05 Feb 2022 01:38:14
I just donated 20 eds so you can double up on the coffee and the pastries. Thanks again for all you guys do much love from the United States!

{Ed001's Note - more coffee is always good. Though it does make me sleep, so if I miss my flight you and Mark are to blame!}

26.) 05 Feb 2022 09:05:40
Donated and hope the move goes well Tris.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I am sure it will do now things are starting to go back to normal.}

28.) 05 Feb 2022 12:46:50
Great idea lads.

Donated there and hope it gets you where you want to be Ed!

If there is a few pound left over tip over to Dublin and us Irish lads will meet u for a pint!

{Ed001's Note - is that far from Louth? Hopefully....}

29.) 05 Feb 2022 17:13:57
Couldn't have an Ireland session without Barry surely!

14 Sep 2021 17:41:27
Ed025 - quick question. I see on the Everton page you and the fans rightly berating Dyche/ Burnley and the way they played/ fouled your players etc.

However when Klopp did the same thing when we played them - you were quick to call him a flake/ trying to gain an adavntage etc.

Whats changed? or is it one rule for you's and another for us.

Ox in a Box

{Ed025's Note - i never complained about their physicality ox, i said that is part of the game and i stick by that, the two footed challenge on richarlison is another matter though mate that was just wrong..

1.) 14 Sep 2021 18:16:41
That one had more intent in it than the Leeds players one on Sunday. And that's a fact. Disgusting challenge.

2.) 14 Sep 2021 19:00:15
Haha I saw that few hours back and laughed 🤣🤣 whinging Ed25 lol.

Now Ed25 will understand why Klopp was furious after playing Burnely lol. There's a difference btw physical and just kicking players all over the pitch with dangerous tackles.

{Ed025's Note - but i dont have an agenda KF, klopp was trying the old get in the refs head the way SAF did, there is a difference between a couple of shoves on your ever so delicate players and the possible leg breaker we seen at goodison mate..

3.) 14 Sep 2021 19:05:14
Richarlison is a tramp Ed he’s a dirty lil rat loves a cheap dirty tackle he deserves all the boots he gets mate!

{Ed025's Note - not a big fan then jay?.. :)

4.) 14 Sep 2021 19:29:47
No pal 🤣 he’s talent but ruins it rolls around like a Andrex puppy when tapped but a dirt bird on the other side! But like chewy saurez but no where near as good 😎.

{Ed025's Note - i dont like the rolling around either jay, mind you mane has taken over from mo now as a serial diver so you cant really complain mate..

5.) 14 Sep 2021 19:33:01
That's your opinion mate, can't help if you can read Klopp's mind and think he has an agenda coz I didn't see him complain abt physical when Elliott got injured. But was spot on abt Burnely tactics.

{Ed025's Note - burnley have and always will be robust KF, its their way of competing with better players they are up against mate, i can live with that and thats the way they were against liverpool but against us some of their challenges were downright dangerous...klopp is a very savvy guy..

6.) 14 Sep 2021 19:37:36
"And the beat goes on". eh Ed025? 😉😁.

{Ed025's Note - always ArAy mate.. :)

7.) 14 Sep 2021 19:52:43
Let’s not bring grelish into either 25 🤣.

{Ed025's Note - hes the number 1 jay..

8.) 14 Sep 2021 20:08:48
Ah Ed come on.

Don't tell us now Richarlison is a saint?

{Ed025's Note - absolutely not MLG, i detest his antics and its embarrassing at times, its a shame really because hes very talented and a hard worker, it must be from spending too much time with that douche bag neymar on international duty mate..

9.) 14 Sep 2021 21:39:13
Ed025 - fine mate, i agree about the 2 footed challenge but i can also remember you making comments about how us LFC fans kept moaning/ repeating the injury Pickford caused on VVD - that was also a dirty 2 footed tackle.

Difference in the 2 situations was our player (1 of our most important) got injured for the whole season - yours at least got up and walked away.

So i guess we had the right to moan or as you would say whine about the situation.

10.) 15 Sep 2021 00:18:32
I’d love to know who it was that changed Ronaldo.

When he was at United he could easily have made the Portuguese Olympic diving team but he changed at Madrid.

I’ve always wondered was it down to him maturing, was it somebody having a word with him at Madrid or did he watch Messi, who always looked to stay on his feet? Quite probably a combination of things I suppose.

On the subject of Burnley, they are - especially the cb pairing right on the edge between physical intimidation and causing actual bodily harm. Mee’s two footed lunge was very lucky not to have caused serious physical damage and, as has been said, there was an element of definite intent in what he was doing.

11.) 15 Sep 2021 12:41:13
Same Burnley side that did Gomez the other season, there an average team who bully sides, nothing special about them or Dyche, dirty side.

Morning Ed's - 2 quick questions

---------We are not going to get in to any of this.---------

Ox in a Box

1.) 30 Aug 2021 10:58:56
Ok thanks Ed's - didn't realise it was a controversial subject.

25 Aug 2021 16:27:42
In regards to Coutinho - did he not contribute or give up his bonus (by handing in transfer request) to make his dream move to Barcelona happen?

I read somewhere at the time it was close to £11m of his savings/ future earnings

If he really wants to come back - he would need to do something similar in my opinion - by reducing his wages by more than half of what Barcelona pay him or based on his recent injury record - be on a pay as you play deal.

Ox in a Box

{Ed0666's Note - pay as you play? You are kidding me right?

1.) 25 Aug 2021 16:46:30
Ed0666 - what i mean is we pay him a base salary which is low - but pay him bonuses based on making the matchday squad and more if he makes the first 11 or an appearance on the pitch.

2.) 25 Aug 2021 17:06:14
why would he agree to that?

3.) 25 Aug 2021 17:14:47
If he had any sense of decency he’d turn up for free, a la Fernando Redondo.

4.) 25 Aug 2021 17:29:30
I love this "he should take a pay cut rubbish" that does be spouted on here. Hands up how many here would take a pay cut voluntarily? None. If he's on huge wages that's Barcelona's problem and I personally don't see why he should do himself out of money just to help them or please folk on here.

5.) 25 Aug 2021 17:33:19
Grow up Victor, and Ox in fairness! Maybe Divock might actually score ONE goal this year. And people wonder why klopp does be hesitant to make subs in games.

6.) 25 Aug 2021 16:46:30
Ed0666 - what i mean is we pay him a base salary which is low - but pay him bonuses based on making the matchday squad and more if he makes the first 11 or an appearance on the pitch.

{Ed0666's Note - why would he accept those terms when he’s on circa £250k a week? Seriously mate come on think before you post.

7.) 25 Aug 2021 18:07:21
Just maybe because he was a lying little runt, who has suddenly had an epiphany and now realises how wrong he was. £100k a week is hardly going to change his life one little bit. There are millions of people who actually realise it is better to be happy than have extra money in the bank.

8.) 25 Aug 2021 18:27:03
250k a week OMFG I really can’t believe we are thinking about it if he’s actually on that. He will be a bench warmer at best.

9.) 25 Aug 2021 18:27:08
If he’s as “desperate” to escape his alleged “Barcelona hell”, then surely he’d take playing for free at the club he so allegedly loves in order to escape it, this alleged love as according to his agent. The man literally thought he was bigger than Liverpool Football Club when he downed tools to engineer his move. I’m not certain that deserves anything less than contempt, he certainly isn’t deserving of a heroes welcome.

Say what you like about Origi but at least he’s not a snake.

And he’s actually contributed to winning big trophies for us, unlike Coutinho.

10.) 25 Aug 2021 18:45:54
The apology should read
“Dear reds, I’m sorry for faking injuries and taking hundreds of thousands of pounds out of your club in wages in order to force a move away to Barcelona’s bench, I want to give all that money back to the city/ community through charity and food banks then curl one in from the edge of the box against United”
- coutinho
P. S “I never won a trophy for Liverpool and am happy to play in the Papa Johns pizza tournament with the u21s”.

{Ed0666's Note - brilliant 😂

11.) 25 Aug 2021 21:12:34
If that was the case Markp everyone would just sign for Liverpool. You want to be loved, have the best European nights ever and comebacks that no club can come close to? Come to LFC, forget the wages. if only.

12.) 25 Aug 2021 21:42:52
No they wouldn’t IR. But he claims to love the club. Messi claims to love Barcelona etc etc. They just spout nonsense. I also said £100k a week which I assume these days is enough to leave on, with bread being a quid a loaf and all that.

13.) 25 Aug 2021 22:17:21
So where does it stop? There are loads of footballers on a lot more than Coutinho. Maybe Henderson should have taken a pay cut on his new contract? He's on good money and he loves the club right?

14.) 25 Aug 2021 23:10:16
Couts contributed plenty to the club lads. We sold him, bought players with the money and won the PL. We should be rolling the red carpet for him. Buy him is what I say. sell him again and see if we win another! 😅.

15.) 25 Aug 2021 21:18:29
ed0666 I just looked up his wages and it says his on £146k a week around on a few web sites then on another over £300k.
if he is on the higher wage I think he would take a pay cut just to end his nightmare of a time his had there. I think he would like to get his family back near Firminho fabinho and Alissons. Am sure one of the biggest reasons was family why he moved there to a spanish speaking country but Naymar left nearly straight away and I think he was another big reason to want to move there. But things could not have gone worse for him there.
But saying that ed I don't want him nothing to do with how he left I just don't think he is what we need if we could sell Naby then I think there would be more of a case for him. I think if we are going to sign a midfielder we need a combative player the only 2 in the squad are Henderson Fabinho and Milner and with Henderson and Fabinho injury record and Milner's age I think that is more of a concern. Attacking midfielder players Thiago Ox Naby Jones and Elliott and even Firminho might play there a bit this season to get all forwards in.

{Ed0666's Note - hey mate if you got a spare 3 hours weve just discussed what the points you make at nauseam in the SEE YOU NEXT THURSDAY Podcast which should be out later today.

16.) 26 Aug 2021 09:15:47
There should be caps for transfers, wages and especially the C.V. on the game, agents, and people wonder why the "big" sides wanted a break away euro league, greedy players and agents but its all hush hush now.

17.) 26 Aug 2021 07:41:48
Cheers Ed0666 I will give it listen.

{Ed0666's Note - only if you’re a glutton for punishment or can’t sleep otherwise there’s far better things to do in life mate.

18.) 26 Aug 2021 19:08:38
If i was Divock i doubt i'd be doing anything snakey either, i'd be thanking me lucky stars everyday. No, scratch that if i was Divock i'd probably actually rather leave a club im nowhere near good enough for and try and actually PLAY FOOTBALL somewhere else instead of blocking pathways for young players who are already better than me. Lovely fella though apparently.

19 Aug 2021 08:35:15
Good morning Eds

How does a selling club decide on what value the place on a player - i. e Shaqiri when making them availble for transfer?

I have seen Ed2 comment that we have overpriced some players which has led to buying clubs walking away due to the valuations.

On a separate note on another post the price in regards to Phillips - a lot of posters here said they would want £15m. I myself said that we should accept anything between 8-12m. My question here is do the club look at how much other players of similar ilk have gone for when placing a valuation on their player?

i ask as Ben White has gone for £50m - he is of similar age to Phillips, has had 1-2 seasons in the PL - rest in the chamionship. I know he was a starter unlike Phillips and now an international but the disparity in price is huge.

Ox in a Box

{Ed002's Note - In terms of Liverpool, the decision will be taken by the Head of Recruitment, Sporting Director and Chief Scout. You cannot compare players simply based on age and experience.}

1.) 19 Aug 2021 09:42:32
As with anything in life, price is dictated by what the consumer is prepared to pay. If clubs looking at Phillips are only prepared to pay £12m then that is his true market value. It's pretty much irrelevant if Liverpool think he is worth £15m.

The price clubs are prepared to pay is mostly going to be driven by subjective opinion regarding how good the player is, how long he can contribute to them, and how much better they think he can get during that time. Contract length also comes into it as a bargaining tool, as if a player is running down his contract, the buying clubs will know they can low ball the selling clubs, as they won't want to lose the player for nothing.

So whilst Liverpool can have a figure in mind of what they're prepared to sell at, that figure is not reflective of Phillips' market value.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not how clubs decide the price they are asking for players.}

2.) 19 Aug 2021 09:43:49
And yet you said 8-12M for Nat?

3.) 19 Aug 2021 09:57:08
MK,

Nothing applies to Lyon, Napoli, and Spurs lol. they sell for their price and not a penny less. Levy might actually sell Philips for £30 mill.

4.) 19 Aug 2021 10:16:17
Sean - i said 8-12M as i don't think he is worth anything more and realistically he is 4/ 5th choice for us and wouldn't have even got a chance if it wasnt for the injuries so we would prob had been lucky to get £3m at start of last season.

Also i think Arsenal overpaid for Ben white.

5.) 19 Aug 2021 10:16:33
I never said it was Ed002. You've misread my post. My point was that however Liverpool value their players doesn't matter unless somebody is prepared to meet that price. I could ask £100k for my battered old VW if i want, but nobody would pay it.

{Ed002's Note - Go back and read the question.}

6.) 19 Aug 2021 10:18:19
Sinwave = Liverpool have in the past got more for players than we should have such as Brewster/ Ibe/ Solanke etc so your point about Levy is moot.

Also what is the point of keeping players that are not contributing just because you want to hold out for a ridiculous amount and prove a point.

7.) 19 Aug 2021 10:18:59
I can understand why the club holds for valuations but if it is stopping Klopp getting the funds and squad space to add players he feels works into his longer term plans it gives it another thought dimension.

Personally I can ever see Phillips selling for 15mil whether it be this season or next. They are only delaying the inevitable of selling him for around 8m and in the meantime slowing his career.

8.) 19 Aug 2021 10:38:34
OX.
You got me wrong. I don't want to keep Philips or Origi for that matter. I am all in for selling players who don't contribute. It's clear we are not able to sell players this window. Ibe and Solanki happened some 5 years back (Both are English) .

9.) 19 Aug 2021 11:58:02
Sinwave

Sorry to break it to you but last time I looked Phillips was also English

And you picked on Solanke/ Ibe but forgot it was Brewster we sold last year for £25m or thereabouts.

And if you are happy for us to sell, why did you make the comment levy would sell for £30m?

10.) 19 Aug 2021 12:54:35
Why are you guys falling for this stuff? You don't see the pattern of made up facts? Isn't Sinwave one of Harry's user names?

11.) 19 Aug 2021 12:54:51
Coz nobody is meeting our valuation mate. Clubs are reluctant to pay what we wish to have. Levy on the other hand has a habit of squeezing money somehow. Are we not selling Shaqiri for some £5 mill and change?

12.) 19 Aug 2021 12:58:13
I wasn't answering the question Ed002 as it wasn't directed at me. But I understand where the confusion has come in now.

{Ed002's Note - No problem.}

13.) 19 Aug 2021 16:15:45
Yep ArAy, that's him alright.

Before anyone shouts at me, i know free transfers aren't free and what i have put below isn't too realistic.

Honestly i don't think we will have that much to spend in the summer 2023 and the midfield needs a complete overhaul. If reports are correct and we want Bellingham (which i hope we get done) it will set us back over £100m meaning we won't have much else to play with as such i think we need to try and exploit any chance we can get with free transfers (especially if we can reduce the wages paid and improve the quality and reliability of the midfield options)

Stating this i would offload the following players Ox, Milner, Keita, Henderson, Jones (reluctantly to raise funds) and having looked at who could be available for free (used loosely) - i would try to bring in Laimer, and then 2 of any of the following - Douglas Luiz, Thomas Lemar, Youri Tielemans, Houssem Aouar, Toni Kroos, Leondro Trossard.

I would also sell Firmino and replace him with any of the following that may be available of free - Marcus Thuram, Paulinho, Asensio, Moukoko.

Hi Ed - sorry if i am repeating the question or information is below but i couldn't find it.

Is the something else - that Porto own 80% of the player and need to own 100% before they can sell?

Ox in a Box

{Ed002's Note - Yes but they have been looking to strike a deal with Junior and will do before the summer.}

WhyOWhy - Klopp is hardly going to say he is unhappy with the squad and say that the kids aren't good enough is he. Imagine what that would do to their confidence. Klopp likes to keep his players close knit/ wanted so will not rock the boat

Considering the links to Sanches/ Saul etc - shows clearly that Klopp thinks we are a bit light there and would like someone else in. And before you say we have Elliott - yes i agree and hope to see him play a lot more but at the start of the window, Elliott was seen as the backup to Salah, not as a midfielder.

I doubt Klopp is happy with what he has got - more that there are no funds unless we sell more players and no space in the squad to include players purchased. Am sure if it was up to Klopp there are a few he would get rid off to get a few in but he doesn't set the prices or negotiate the transfers.

Klopp probabaly okayed a list of players put forward and it is up to the recrutiment team to do the rest with the finances at their disposal - which was a pint of lager and a packet of chrisps.

What is with all this pinning to have Coutinho back - are we that desperate just to have a signing. As others have said he doesn't really fit the profile we like to get (a player with potential to grow/ a resale value)

You don't see the bitters after Barkley and they are dying out for a number 8 or 10 and he wouldn't set them back money wise as am sure Chelsea would be happy to get rid.

Mark its 7 in a row in the PL - United, Everton, West Ham, Villa, Watford, Wolves, Leeds - which makes SEVEN.

Also what is this crap about them being unstoppable etc, if you look at the context of the season so far - City have been knocked out of the League cup, lost 2 games in the Champions League and 2 in the PL. Liverpool on the other hand have lost 1 game all season and come through a much tougher group in the CL with 100% record - so how about having some faith in the team you are supposed to support.
