For my first Post I thought I would do a player run down in my own view. First off thank god for a win but I'll end up in a hospital if we win like that every week.

To start with Firmino- seems to lack concentration at times in the first half and even in the second his first touch was awful bouncing off his foot he was better dribbling in the second though.

Coutinho great game once he got up to it. I've noticed in games once he scores he gains his confidence and goes to another level. In games he doesn't he will just take wild shots looking for it.

Mane - Great signing has pace and purpose and unlike Sterling, Ibe, and Markovic can shoot a ball.

Henderson - Undervalued his distribution is good so is his work rate would like to seem him marshal the players a little more on set plays.

Wijnaldum - Good second half not great good pass to Lallana will need to do more to keep his starting spot.

Lallana - If he can add more goals and assists to his game will push on to the next level will also need to keep doing so to keep his spot.

Clyne - Was ok finally managed to get a good cross in really needs to drive at players more with the ball slows down the attack too often. Terrible defending on the Chamberlain goal

Lovren - Did ok needs to cancel out the rash challenges looks for a positive pass with the ball.

Klavan - Great business so far doesn't panic with the ball at his feet and has deceptive pass when chasing down also good in the air.

Moreno - Terrible game needs to remember his position and that he could be trying out now for what team he plays for next. Sometimes he tries to hard to show he can defend as the PK instead of playing simple. Also needs tactical awareness if he goes forward needs to make sure someone picks his man up.

Mignolet - Not good enough for me. needs to marshal his defense at all times which it doesn't seem like he does. Possible could have come out and got the ball on the third goal.

Apologies for such a long post just wished to do a run down of the starters and what I saw from the game. Overall I'm pleased from the second half but need to start games better almost seemed to nervous to play the first half. Excited to see where we go this year. Klopp please give some 1 on 1 training to Moreno if you're not going to sign anyone else.

Actually thought Mignolet did OK? Couldn't really do much about the goals and even his kicking wasn't too bad?

2.) 15 Aug 2016 23:04:52
Mignolet was fine yesterday.

3.) 15 Aug 2016 23:15:28
Migs could have done better with Oxlade Chamberlains goal. A keeper should not get beaten at his near post so easily. Being picky though, he did OK.

4.) 15 Aug 2016 23:48:36
Migs showed that he's been working on his footwork in the offseason as he showed more confidence in one game than he's shown since he came here. Credit to him.

A bit harsh Ron. He was in position to collect it and it deflected off lovren. I thought Migs had a good game overall. The penalty save was at a perfect height for him but he still had to guess the right way and get it away from goal.

6.) 16 Aug 2016 00:39:13
Migs had a good game, and apart from a fairly anonymous start (but not as bad as some others), Firmino was very good, but largely agree with the rest.

7.) 16 Aug 2016 00:55:56
To all those that replied saying Migs did OK yes he did do OK but if we hope to push on this season we need more than that. Was it not Shankly who said "Aim for the sky and you'll reach the ceiling, aim for the ceiling and you'll never leave the floor. "

His shot stopping can not be questioned he is good. However, although it did not happen in this game some occasion he is quick to punch and parry and it goes write to an opposition player when he could have easily caught and held on to the ball. Now as to the Arsenal game the first goal he needs to lead and command his backline Walcott being that open his partially his fault. The third goal watch where the cross ends up right at his six yard box and instead of going to attack and collect it he backs off to his goal line. What that tells me is he doesn't trust his depth perception ability, meaning where to catch the ball at its highest point possible. Mignolets weakness is his mental game and decision making not his physical qualities.

8.) 16 Aug 2016 01:19:38
I thought Mignolet had a poor game overall in terms of decision making and distribution. He looks unassured most of the time. May be trying too hard as he probably knows his starting place is gone once Karius is back fit.

9.) 16 Aug 2016 08:22:12
Mignolet wouldn't have saved oxlades it deflected right in front of him. And there's no chance he could have come and claimed the cross for chambers' goal.

10.) 16 Aug 2016 10:12:50
Not Mignolets biggest fan by any means but I don't think he could have come and caught free kick as too many players in the way. I thought he was ok but still needs replacing as mistakes happen far too often.

Your assessment of Firmino is just bizarre. He was tireless up front, linked up well with team mates, kept the ball very well, created chances and space. I thought he had an excellent game - he seems to be improving constantly, certainly he has come on leaps and bounds since he first joined us (perhaps now used to the English game) - he will be a big player for us.
