Oh come on Ed025, his second start and it was clear how much he was growing in confidence, a beast in the tackle and comfortable withthe ball, was thoroughly impressed.

{Ed025's Note - impressive yes AW, against a side who would struggle in league 1 though mate...get back to me when he does it against a decent team..

I’m a strong believer of ‘you can only best what's in front of you’, red star are certainly not the best team in the competition but its the Champions League and complacency is punished, as were against Napoli and as Napoli were against Red Star. Red Star came for a physical battle, committed 20 fouls with little more than a telling off from the referee, and yet Fabinho had their entire midfield in his pocket. He may have had more time on the ball to pick out good passes, but defensively its hard to neglect how good he was.

I have a feeling we will be getting back to you soon Ed, he looked good in the tackle and picked a few nice passes tonight. One of our better players overall.

Ed025 he did it twice against Manchester City when Monaco knocked them out of the champions league, two fantastic performances that stick out in my mind.

Either way you can only play who's in front of you, he did well tonight and I look forwards to him getting more mins.

I wasn’t in my usual seat tonight, behind the goal, I had to sit in the main stand, four rows from the back! Gives you a totally different perspective of the game.

Yes Red Star were poor but they pressed us apocryphal night, we just sliced through the press with bags of energy.

The two main reasons we were allowed to do so was Fabhino and Gini. Fabinho grew into the game with every kick, breaking down every attack.

Yes they are not a great team but you still have to do a job and he did that tonight, allowing the likes of Shaqiri, Mané, Salah and bobby to do what they do best.

We looked a lot shaper all over the pitch tonight.

Huddersfield are and were just as poor the other night and we equalled their shabby play to the extent it could have ended in a draw.

Tonight we played an equally poor team but we were much better, no sloppy passing and we made sure all the scone balls were won, unlike Saturday.

We were no where near our ruthless best tonight but it was better mate.

haha I was just responding to "get back to me when he does it against a decent team" and thought the premier league champions were a good choice as he put in particularly good performances. He's done well against plenty of "bigger boys", PSG, Dortmund (though admittedly not in both legs), Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Lyon. He's done well since moving into the midfield and has great physicality and an eye for a pass, I like him a lot.

Ed025 he may well fail, better players have when moving clubs. But I'm really not sure what you're basing your opinion. It doesn't seem like you watch much Ligue 1 or Monaco Fc in general. Scelticism for the sake of scelticism.

{Ed025's Note - i watched quite a bit of him at monaco eamon which is why i was surprised liverpool bought him, some people must see something i dont mate..

{Ed025's Note - i dont hope fabinho is a lemon bobby...im sure of it!, we would have been in the champions league in the 80,s when we were for me the best team in europe when we won the league mate, unfortunately we were not allowed to enter the competition due to a ban on english sides.....thanks for that..

Ed025, surely the worst team to ever enter a European competition was the Everton team which was knocked out of first the 2005/ 06 Champions League then the UEFA Cup before the end of September. They were an embarrassment to the city and the country.

{Ed025's Note - that was a referee called collina wirral who knocked us out mate and has since admitted he was wrong, when we were the best in europe in the mid to late 80,s we were not allowed to enter the european cup my friend because of a team that were a disgrace to the city and the country....people who live in glass houses and all that..

The funny thing is that utter tripe we faced yesterday (the worst team to ever be in European competition as Ed said) are still a club that have won a European cup.

{Ed001's Note - you have to remember, he doesn't get to see a lot of European football and clearly must have had his tongue firmly in cheek when he said that. After all, they were good enough to hold Napoli to a draw in the opening group match.}

He played well. He has been written off the way many klopp signings are as they're slowly integrated into this talented squad. People said the ox would struggle in cm, said Robbie was a stop gap, no better than moreno but they are 2 of our better players. I thought he was excellent. Gini had a solid game too but shaqiri for motm.
The front three looked brilliant, back to their best.
