My dog that Ladyman chap is a dope. "Liverpool must go away from home and take the life out of the game. It is not something they are used to, it does not come naturally to them and is not something they are particularly good at. "

Hasn't he been paying attention all season? We scored 7 in Maribor, 3 in Sevilla, 5 in Porto, 2 in Manchester, we have 39 away goals in the league and only failed to score in 3 of our 18 away games. Taking the life out of the game is the last thing we should or will do. Scoring away goals will put paid to any ideas Roma have of doing us like they did Barca. I'm going for 3-2 to Liverpool with one each from Bobby, Mo and Sadio, of course. :)

completely agree with this, coupled with the fact that they need to score 3!

this means they can't sit back and will have to hunt for goals meaning they should be exposed at the back.

i would put all my savings that one of our front 3 will get atleast 1 goal in the away leg.

Agree - the worst thing we can do is sit back and invite them to attack, it’s not in our nature and we’re not a side that performs at our best that way. We need to take the game to them and make sure they never have any time on the ball, can’t get any rythm, force turnovers and use our most lethal weapon which is our front three, not our back 4.

Same tactics as the second leg at city and we will get over the line.

they won't sit back. They will look at the first 20 minutes and the last 10 and know that they will have opportunities. This is far from over. Ask Barcelona.

Roma are not at the same level of Citeh

Barca had issues with tactics and attitude in Rome

Klopp will have us ready.

So long as we have our three up front and Henderson and Milner plus another in midfield we will get the job done.

Forget no score draws and single away goals in Europe as we have taken it all to a me level.

This is the heavy metal football roller coaster ride we have been promised.

Just enjoy the ride.

Our job is to support and believe!

Difference is, stop messi you stop Barca. We have 3 that need stopping. Salah got 2 Bobby got 2 and Mane should have scored 3.

The fact that Barcelona have went out the way they did is a good warning to Liverpool in the away match. Im sure the players will know there is work to be done.

Im more concerned about loosing anymore players than what Roma have to offer.

The best thing that could've happened for Liverpool in this situation is Barcelona losing in Rome. We've learnt by someone else's mistake. We'll win in Rome aslong as we play our game.

It’s the semi finals of the champions league. No mater what the result was tonight it was never going to be over. Once again we got shafted by a referee though, that was never a penalty.

Anonymous Woolback, really not sure on the pen decision myself with the way things are withing the sport currently, even after countless replays. As far as I have always been aware since I myself played a s a youth, penalties are only given for intentional handballs right?

The last few seasons since the likes of Sky/ BT have begun hiring ex referees to analyse such situations has gotten me second guessing on this though.

Seems to me that nobody, including current/ ex referees and players are unsure on this rule too - it's really not rocked science - it's either a clearly intentional handball trying to gain an unfair advantage or it's not.

Now they discuss distance between player and ball, speed the ball is moving, hands tucked in or to the side regardless of mentioning issues like the defending player's balance, so needing his hands in the natural position down by his side - they've over-complicated it in my opinion - it's either a clear and intentional handball or it's play on surely.

Strange thing is that if Milners arms were down by his side, it would have totally blocked the shot, instead it took a deflection off the inner side of his arm - could have gone in the goal.

I've seen so many similar situations where the penalty was not given. Based on the premise that handling the ball was not intentional and the shot hit the defender from point blank range. What I do know is that the ref was on the left of the box, just outside it. Milner was in the middle of the box towards the right side, and the ball hit his left side and his left arm. Therefore, not the clearest of views for the ref. It's all subjective I suppose.

We need to play to win. They need to score so they’ll not park the bus and they’ll come at us, which is when we’re at our best. They can’t handle pace and we will score.
