Delighted with the result and the table but I think we can play a lot better.

As JC23 once said no kid grows up wanting to be a full-back or particularly Gary Neville. Andy Robertson is changing that. Everyone loves the forwards but Robertson must be everyone’s second favourite player. Good engine, composed, determined, can pass and cross, team player wow!

Crazy Horse

{Ed0333's Note - I don’t think he covered himself in glory today mate he needs a rest maybe?

1.) 29 Dec 2018 22:33:25
I wish we had another left back option besides Moreno so we can give Robertson a rest.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 22:35:55
1 more game then they can be rested for the cup, massively important game and a positive result will be huge for the remaining games.

As for robbo, what an inspiration to young kids everywhere, he just doesn’t stop!

3.) 30 Dec 2018 00:54:05
Totally agree Ed333, I think he needs a rest.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 03:43:03
I think he was awful until the yellow card. perhaps the occasion got to him? Thought he was far better after.

5.) 30 Dec 2018 04:34:22
Love Robbo but he was hit and miss against the Gunners. Not his best game by a long way.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 07:49:02
He's got everything right except the correct decision-making- when to rush forward and when to stay put. Not sure you can teach that, but experience and time certainly does. Can be helped a little more by VVD too, I think.

7.) 30 Dec 2018 15:17:18
His wife gave birth 2/ 3 days ago. I can forgive him for a slight off game. Even though he played that inch perfect diagonal for salah to set up mane.

Not his best but not his worst, arsenal are a handful going forward tbf

Oh Andy Andy, Andy Andy Andy Andy Robertson. Maybe he should have 4 sons and call them all Andrew.

So the best unbeaten league run for Liverpool at the start of a season is 29 games in the 88-89 season. The run was finally ended by Everton. Who is the 29 th game against this season? Coincidence or what.

1.) 28 Dec 2018 18:56:07
Also look who our last game is against. Chelsea, reminds me of the stevie slip. I'm sure these fixtures aren't random.

Actually eds, or anyone. Are the league fixtures random or are they pre determined? There seems to be so many coincidences, all these super Sundays etc.

{Ed001's Note - they are initially random but then have to be adjusted to fit real life.}

2.) 28 Dec 2018 19:01:20
That was 30 years ago.

3.) 28 Dec 2018 19:43:57
Isn’t our last game wolves Robbie?

And just a coincidence but let’s take it a game at a time, we have no given right to be unbeaten for another ten games. Arsenal first and we go from there.

4.) 28 Dec 2018 21:07:48
I thought it was Chelsea at anfield but I'd rather wolves at anfield. Wolves will have little to play for by then probably. Maybe europa league qualification.

5.) 28 Dec 2018 21:31:12
Chelsea is the 5th last game of the season, then cardiff, Huddersfield, newcastle then wolves.

Well done! Only 5 games left.

I didn't think we played particularly well but we got 3 points.

A special shout out to Mignolet. Did everything right under intense bombardment. If Carroll slapped me on the head and hit my arm I would drop the ball.

Sterling was brilliant. No longer just an exciting youngster with pace. He was fast, strong and intelligent. A little more composure and he will be world class.

Suarez and Sturridge were a little off. Good! Saving it up for next week.

There should be no pressure on the players as they have already done us proud this season. The expectations of the supporters has already been met. Everything from now on is a bonus unlike Chelski and city.

Football is a strange game. I have a funny feeling that Everton will decide the league outcome in their game against city.

Crazy Horse

1.) Me too! It's freaking my blue nose mates out that their quest for champions league could effectively provide an avenue for us in winning the league!

2.) I know what you mean Marshy . I keep goading a blue nose mate by asking him if he would want Everton to beat City to secure a Champions league spot if it put us in the box seat for the title. He still won't answer me.

Wow!

In my opinion we had so many good players without having anyone majorly outshining the rest. This is the very essence of a team.

Although we have many very talented players, Flanagan is fast becoming my favorite player. Heart, ability and came through the system. Then he has buckled down and forced his way back into the team after being largely written off.

I know a lot of people on here seem to moan about everything so I have summarised all of the negatives today.

Mignolet - was saving penalties at the start of the season and now he isn't.
Skrtel - what was he doing so far up field for both goals? If he hadn't scored Arsenal might of been able to counter attack.
Suarez - never scored and was far too greedy hitting the post from 30 yards.
Henderson - there was a piece of grass at the right hand side of the Kop which he never touched.
Coutinho - is too short if we need to use him as a sub goalkeeper.
Groundsman- the grass was the wrong shade of green.
Sterling - is not very good at throw ins.

If I have missed any possible complaints please feel free to add them.

Despite the defeat I'm still really pleased with the way we are playing; except in defence.

Personally I wouldn't play Skrtle. He always seems to be blocking and saving the day with last minute challenges and there is no doubt he is committed to the cause. However, we have conceded in most games since his return.

I prefer defenders to be reading the game and in control so that they aren't always reacting to issues in a desperate fashion e.g. Alan Hansen or Beckenbauer.

With this in mind and all the publicity regarding shirt pulling I think it is time Toure came back in to help provide solidity especially at set pieces.

skrtel for me seems to get targeted by tactics of opposing managers, to put it bluntly imo he hasn't the balls to do the ugly side of being a centre half which in itself is strange considering how far he has come in the game, in a weird way some games he is fine but when targeted closely by a strong forward he starts grabbing and getting to close he dosent seem to realish the battle which for me is imperative in this position.i would like to see toure with either agger r sackho at some point I seen cara saying it would be hard for sackho and agger to play togeather as they r both left footed cbs so toure comes in with either.

I’m surprised Thiago’s song isn’t based on the kids song ‘I am a music man’

He is a football man and he comes from far away
And he can play
Thia, thia, thi-ago, thi-ago, thi-ago
Etc.

I think there will be a degree of rotation but it will still be a competitive team. After all a win in the group stage is worth around 2.7m euros and money is tight.

Thanks for the breakdown of the costs associated with a transfer. I know you have a reluctance to talk about the financial side of the game but it is such a major factor which many of us just cannot begin to comprehend. This is obvious when most supporters consider an extra £2m on a transfer to be insignificant even though most of us will never see that amount of money in our entire lifetime.

If a transfer is reported as being £10m are these costs in addition to this amount?

If it is in addition to the fee how much could a £10m transfer typically cost?

I've dreamed of this too. Mata plus £20m, that would be a good deal.
