Liverpool are said to be readying an offer for highly rated Portugal midfielder Joao Neves. He is described as the 'next Rodri', which would make him an exciting addition! (CM Jornal)

Don't see us paying that much on that position. I have my doubts about this rumour. Ederson sounds more plausible to me. Not that he will be cheap either but more of an acceptable price range than Neves I think.

Are you saying then that the Caicedo bid was all theatre?

12 Jun 2024 21:34:27
It’s not connected, this question has zero substance.
We were looking for a top class DM last season, Caicedo was an option, he didn’t want us! (TFFT)
We now believe Ederson can do a job in that role, for a fee that difffers from the Caicedo cost.
Not comnected in any way though, for the Caicedo offer!

@Vango - the right player at the right price. It depends upon the player and how much we would value each specific player.

12 Jun 2024 21:39:02
No Vango. I just felt we spent a lot of money on midfield last year and think of we are spending that kind of money, it will be elsewhere in the squad. I could be wrong but that's never been the case before.

The wage bill reduction is huge this summer. If the right player is available, cost is not an issue (imo) .
Eds, is Neves a potentially world class player?

{Ed002's Note - Joao Neves (DM/CM) Discussed with Chelsea when meeting over another player as they were seeking a replacement for Loftus-Cheek last summer. Potential Casemiro replacement for Manchester United. Huge buy out clause and Benfica will not look to sell but recognise there will be growing interest and will insist that the buy out clause is met in full. Liverpool and Manchetser City have sent scouts. Versatile but falls over easily. I expect Manchester United to push even having a first offer rejected.}

Falling over easily is not a useful skill in the Prem!

Vango what PL are u watching?! . the whole league is at it.

13 Jun 2024 03:21:14
Saka seems to be next level at falling over easily and he has done ok in the prem!

In his time at the Theatre of Streams, Ronaldo used to fall over if there was a breath of air within10 metres. He seemed to turn out ok in the end.

13 Jun 2024 12:15:00
@Vango, yes I will say that the Caceido bid was all theatre.
