Don’t need Gordon even if Diaz moves on.
I honestly like the idea of Gakpo on the left side where he played for his previous club and where he has been playing for the Netherlands.
I would let Diaz leave if we can achieve £60-70m.
Defensive midfielder is the player I’m excited for and would still like Inacio at CB as he is best suited to our needs.
Konate would be the other player I would look to move on, his injury record is poor and he can’t play 5 games consecutively. That’s no good to us, it means we consistently have to change our CB pairing so hopefully Pacho can be that consistent CB we need.

Having watched Inacio the other night, he didn't look a 60 million pound player to me. That said, Bellingham didn't look a 2 bob player the other night, so I don't suppose I should draw conclusions.

Strength in depth wasn’t quite there last season for league and Europa even though we had a good go at both.

League and CL next season for me requires a stronger squad not a weaker one. If Diaz goes and is not replaced then for me we are weaker in the forward department.

CL doesn’t allow 8 midweek changes like the Europa does. Slot will be going as close to full strength as possible for both competitions.

Konate missed 5 games in the PL last season due to injury.

If Diaz moves on we absolutely need a left winger if its Gordon or not is another thing.

Can Gordon play on the right?

We can’t continue to expect Mo to play 50 odd games a season as well as wanting to play in the Olympics.

If Diaz goes and we bring in a forward that can play left and right then isn’t that two birds with one stone.

I like Gakpo on the left too shughes. Gordon can also play CF though (as he did when Isak was injured) and also RW (as he did when Barnes was fit) .

He also rarely misses a game and if Diaz leaves, Nunez is the only player we’d have left with that blistering pace and the energy to run in behind for 90 minutes. Plus I prefer Jota up top as he’s not a natural winger, so Gakpo would be the only natural LW option then.

Gordon is expensive though tbf. Rumours we could offer Kelleher seem pretty reasonable. We definitely need to find a way to bring the cash sum down but also the overall valuation of the deal. £100m isn’t a sensible fee to pay. He’s just not worth that. Bellingham and Rice are better (also English) and they went for that sort of money.

I don't want Gordon but the lad does really want to play for Liverpooll, which is always a plus. That extra ounce of desire to play for your boyhood club is always welcome and has always been a big draw for us to go in for a player, if they get the ethos and the culture of the team and the city. I don't think he should be played anywhere other than either of the wings, though, and I just don't think he can play the short pass one-two football that Slot wants in the opposition half. If you want pace and directness on the left hand side then just play Nunez. I do think the ship has probably sailed on Gordon now they've sold Anderson and Minteh, though, the price for Gordon will probably have doubled now they've passed the PSR deadline.
